I think this map would've been alot better with the traditional rules rather than eliminating most of the map with the first hint. Felt like we barely saw any of the map since if they didn't go there in the first 2 minutes they just skipped so much.
It's worth noting though that the traditional hide and seek rules would have probably led to the hiders destroying their own hiding spots since so many of them were destructable :p

Plus the map was 100% destructible and that would have been worse as a hint. There's also usually 4 players, in this there was only 3.
A beautiful map! We've seen popular video game levels turned into hide & seek maps (like Complex from Goldeneye/Perfect Dark), but I had never considered turning a MAP SELECTION SCREEN into a hide & seek map! Very cool idea! This map was done a bit dirty with "Hud & Seek" as it's a fairly small, non-dense map. I don't know a good solution to this as giving the players enough time to feel out the size and density of a map before playing will also ruin the majority of the hiding spots, and we can all agree that them playing this when everyone knows every hiding spot simply wouldn't be fun to watch.

Its a spud gun since it shoots potatos, though they go at such a speed its hard to tell lol. But yeah this is a really good idea! HUD and seek is quite fast with the full view.
Love Kan humming the underground theme while hiding, it 100% would have psyched me out as a seeker, just like "oh damn, is he doing that because he's underground or just to mess with me"

We expect hiders to push the jump button as they reach their hiding spot. We don't expect hiders to use their spud guns to drill through the level boundaries to reach clearly unintended areas. Kosmo found a spot the creator forgot to put a ceiling on, that's fair game. Kan shooting out parts of a level isn't acceptable unless you want every match to turn into destroying everything and ignoring the switch spot aspects (which have always been the entire point of this mode.)

Also if the creator of this map is watching this and also bothers to read comments, you missed probably one of the biggest easter eggs you could have put down for a hiding spot that would have separated those who played SMW and those who haven't and that's making some of the castles open up if they look up. Like if you haven't done that, make that a thing where there are switches just within the doorway of some of the haunted houses and castles. That was "the thing" that I carried on to so many games. There's a door.....I can't get into it....Up! [Enters door.] Alright, just like I thought.

i have an idea for maybe ne of yalls hide and seek episodes. maybe try finding a scrap mechanic backrooms hide and seek map, i feel like that would be really funny to run around the backrooms trying to find people
You guys should do a hide and seek map building contest. Ie each person builds their own hide and seek map. And then each is the seeker on their own map.
Do a dog fight where you have to build a plane but spin a wheel for each person to decide which plane that person will participate with for the round then respin the wheel for the next round
IDEA: Hide and Run So just normal hide and seek but as a hint the seeker doesn't move (they can turn but not walk) and the hiders have to change spots and the hider can change spots and run from the seeker when found but when shot with the spud gun they are out
How about if you allow the seeker to have HUD on during the 2 minutes of hiding time, including looking around all he wants. But never again. Most maps have seeker rooms in a place that would still make it hard to pinpoint where they saw the name. But with the normal audio hints at the 2 minute intervals, it could be just enough.
Could a hide and seek mode be possible where you build a hiding spot? You start with a choice of building materials that are on the map and make a new spot somehow.. Build&Seek?
kan is physically incapable of not cheating in some way at Hide and Seek - its always something, every week without fail. Its best to just ignore it, or it'll really start to upset you.

A nice twist to HUD & Seek is to use the spad(spud?) Gun and aim down the sight when its hints time so that your view is much smaller

Do a hide and seek but you each make 1/4 of the map. After you join them together you start. However you can’t hide in your own section
Hud and seek is great but more for revisiting old maps, not so much new maps
