  • After buying the car, I was initially busy undoing all the modifications to the vehicle, and I hardly ever drove it. Now it was finally time to bring the interior back to shape and especially to eliminate the annoying and disgusting cigarette smell of the previous owner. And I think I succeeded very well. But see for yourself.

Lovely job! Interesting how the steering wheel has been retrimmed to look like the E8X / E9X M-Sport steering wheel (with perforated leather)

Thank you man! And thank you for watching my video. The steering wheel with the perforated leather was made by the previous owner of the vehicle. However, I have already had this redesigned with the finest smooth leather without perforations.

@@bluewhitecars It's great that you're bringing it back to original condition!
I'm currently looking at a 645Ci to replace my 130i. How is the fuel consumption on the highway between 120-130 km/h?
With the 130i overall I averaged around 10.3L / 100 km. I wonder how close the V8 can get!

@@nvl2691 Oh thank you, I appreciate that. Originality is important to me.
Realistically estimating consumption is difficult because everyone has a different driving profile. At a constant 130 km/h, the consumption of the 650i is around 9 liters per 100 km. At the moment I drive about 65% city and the consumption is about 13.5 liters. Especially in city traffic, the 645 will consume considerably more than the 130. But don't forget: life is too short to drive bad cars!

@@bluewhitecars Wow! I'm at around 12.0L in the city, considering the 6er is 200 kg heavier and has 46% more displacement, a 13% increase in fuel consumption is absolutely negligible.
I know I'll miss the nimbleness of the 130i and it's rev-happy N52 engine, but I loved the N62 in a friend's E53 X5 4.4i so I can barely imagine what it's like with 700 kg less to carry around...

@@nvl2691 However, you will have to reckon with 15 or 16 liters when driving around town.
The 1 Series and the 6 Series are of course two completely different cars. The 1 Series has a great engine with the N52 and is much more agile than the 6 Series due to its lower weight and short wheelbase. However, the 6 Series is fast, comfortable, composed and very stable at high speeds. A fast touring car for connoisseurs of understatement.

Fortunately, it's a petrol car and therefore a perfect touring car. It allows me to travel long distances at any time of day or night and go wherever I want without having to worry about where the nearest power socket is. As I also own an electric car, I know exactly what I'm talking about ;-)
