I can't believe 6 years have passed since I recorded this lesson with my student Francesco Carrer. Many people don't know this, but this video was never supposed to go on UA-cam, I just recorded it as I did every student back then, to analyze my teaching habits and see how I could improve as a vocal coach. But after watching this video over and over every night before going to bed, I thought, "What the heck. Let's post it on UA-cam because it's so cute, and maybe it will make someone smile."
And that is how it all began, from one short lesson recorded on my cellphone to teaching the world to sing through my videos and lessons!
Thank you to my student Francesco, who will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart, and all of my students since then who have taught me what it means to believe and dream all over again.
It's the 4th anniversary of The Cheryl Porter Vocal Method, and I'm so grateful and blessed to have you all in my life!

4 Years! Congratulations Cheryl, WOW you are a ‘gift’ to the world. I just spent 2 days watching all your videos. Pure joy! BTW, You have inspired me to try and do diaphragm practices. I am 66 and holding and live with a progressive neuromuscular. By age 30 the disease progressed affecting my breathing - my lower diaphragm muscles have atrophied and I use bi-pap ventilator at rest. My medical peeps try to get me to do breath-stacking - oh so boring, but what you suggest is FUN! I will watch for your diaphragm lessons in videos.
