The pipe tech suggested that the pipes have had a concrete sealant put between joints at installation back in 1895. There is a honey locust and maple tree within 15 feet of the line. Amazing it doesn't have roots!
To what do you attribute the fact that there were no roots in the sewer line? Because the pipes were cast iron?
