This was really important as I have to run and facilitate a number of meetings in my job. They're usually with clients so there is a little variation, but a lot of the key principles apply. Pre-meeting agendas are critical to set the plan and target outcome for the meeting, one of the best things to do imo. The other thing I tend to do is establish myself as the one running the meeting as soon as possible, this tends to be critical with clients, as there's no clear hierarchy or "boss" per se.
Establishing yourself as the facilitator is a great idea - especially if these are new clients that you haven't yet run a meeting for. It sounds like your an expert facilitator and I'm glad you have key principles that you follow in order to ensure successful meetings every time. Thanks for watching and continuing the conversation - cheers!
Love these tips!!! Definitely have a script/plan and setting the stage are my faves!
Love it! This exactly what people need to hear! Meetings are stressful for sure lol
I love your videos, was an intern 3 months ago, and now have a job that involves me interacting with three department heads. Not a great arrangement methinks. We'll be having a meeting this Monday to iron our the management kinks and I'm the facilitator. Definitely learnt something!

I hope this video was able to put you at ease and give you the tips to rock your meeting moving forward. You’ve got this!! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Thanks good advice .. I facilitate and admire it being done well. One key issue I'd like to share is the responsibility of the facilitator to check the environment is conducive to results.. so no distracting noises nearby, temperature perfect, refreshments, toilet breaks at non key moments details that ensure concentration is not lost.
Hey David, that's such a great point about checking the environment! Even something as small as a meeting room that's too cold or a strange noise from nearby can become a huge distraction in the meeting. Thanks for adding this great point. Cheers!
Great intro! I’ve never felt comfortable with session rules. I need to follow through on this
Thank you! What is it about session rules that makes you feel uncomfortable? I would love to know. Cheers!

@@AdrianaGirdler I am a perfectionist so I am worried about every little detail. But I learned that I cannot control everything and everyone. But it's been a process.
You are helping me a lot with my Project Management role❤, love this video, especially the start because that was me 😅before watching your video 😅😂

Adriana, great video. Do you have any other content for the best way to open and close a meeting? When we are meeting with clients, finding a polite way to close the meeting is kind of awkward. Subd #639
