Since we formed this band in 1997 we've been compared to virtually every band under the sun. To name a few that I have heard over the years... Deftones, Tool, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Queensryche (WTF?), Metallica, Fear Factory, Slayer, Alice In Chains, Staind, Creed, etc. That was 1997-2001. Now you see comparisons to Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Mudvayne etc. Funny thing is, while I have listened to some of those bands, only a few of those have had any influence on my playing/writing.
I've been listening to old drist songs for years (always thought they were one of the best, yet most under-rated bands I'd ever heard) and for some reason I either never listened or never clued in to how amazing this particular song is. It's beautiful; I could listen to it on repeat for days.
Cool. Glad you dig it. Funny thing about Science of Misuse stuff is that everyone is hearing it now, but I wrote most of that stuff 3 years ago. Musically I am in a different headspace now. So I am hoping to get to work on the next CD the beginning of 2010 and have it out by the end of 2010. We'll see. If those are your favorite bands you'll probably really enjoy the follow up to Science of Misuse. I am fusing a lot more of those influences into the music. Lots of guitar solos, double kick.etc
Some of the very early stuff was very thrashy. I grew up on old school Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera that sort of stuff. So it's definitely a part of my influence. Frankly, I don't think the song in question sounded anything like Slayer. But I guess the whole attitude and aggression was there. We just do what we do. I typically don't think much about what I am writing. Whatever comes out, comes out. The newest stuff has been much more metal oriented than Science of Misuse.
Yes. Everything is recorded thus far with the exception of the final drum tracks. We're going to be in the studio tonight and tomorrow tracking drums. Once that is done it's off to mixing and mastering. Photos for the CD have been taken and the artwork is almost complete. Sorry I don't have any exact dates for you but it should be finished and available very soon.

dude. thats not harmonics AT ALL. it's just sliding. it is nothing. if you want to hear what harmonics sound like, listen to the intro of "A Fire in Babylon" by Shadows Fall. those are harmonics.

This is my favorite off 0&A. Apparently it was written by Chris before he left the band.
This and Drowning Tonight. Amazing songs.
Wow just found these guys, fucking love this song!
Well the fact that you gave me some info is courtesy enough :) I'm looking forward to the new CD :D
