Thank you SO MUCH for this video! If you have the I & L type connectors, It's important to note that these wiper blades come with the locking tab in the "locked" position. Nowhere in the paper instructions does it even mention that the end piece needs to be unlocked and when unlocked, can move back and forth on it's own via a slanted slider track on either side; I thought it was a stationary part. As it is, I had to watch the video three times before I finally caught that detail and then after that, installation was surprisingly simple.
Where is the locking tab? What is the end piece that needs to be unlocked and how do you unlock it?? There needs to be more detailed instructions for this...
Thanks for the great video. After fumbling around for 15 minutes with the paper instructions, I got both wipers done in less than a minute after watching the video.
Saved my life, Alaskan winters run through wipers like nothing. Also, I didn't destroy my blade while replacing the connector, although I thought I would before I watched this vid. Thank you
Note - the adaptor has CHANGED - you will not be replacing the adaptor, instead you will be pulling parts of the adaptor already on the blade off, depending on your blade. (For I&L, the top 'cover' and the blue things on the side, for example.) Use the Paper instructions.
Use a flat blade screwdriver to get off the old connector. Gently pry it off with the screwdriver. Worked perfectly when I just installed these yesterday.
I must be doing something wrong! I've been trying for about 10 minutes, and I can't budge the connector! I'm sure something's going to snap in a minute, and it just might be me!!
2019 Ford Escape I found it harder taking the old blades off. Switching to the other connector on the RainX was fairly easy. A bit tricky getting these on but it's like the video get the front end down, snap the rest down until you hear the sound, then snap the square thing at the front back for a final snap sound.
The giant mount sure raises the wiper in the rest position significantly. Enough to block the view of the hood. Also, at the top of the wipe stroke it clunks since the wiper arm is far away from the rubber piece.
The connector pops off and clicks into place my butt! I had to pry the old one off with a screwdriver as other commentators said. Also, the new connector only fits one way, so make sure it points in the correct direction.
Had no problem with the installation, but couldn't get the release button to snap back into place on the passenger side, as shown on 0:55. Driver side, no problem. I tried for an hour. I'm hoping that the blade doesn't go flying off when I have them on high.
....yeeeehaaaawwww! The Connector came off! The way I did it was lift rotate up as in the video but turn the wiper 180 degrees, and rotate up from the other end of the connector. Keep going back and forth from one end, rotate, lift, rotate, lift and so on! Hope this helps someone else from going round the bend!
This is a nightmare to take of the pre-installed attachment, I eventually got them both off but the amount of force required to remove them is certainly a lot more than depicted in the video. They are really good blades but if I have to nearly destroy them to attach the correct mount then I won’t be buying again.
LOL I think they fucking glued the old connector. I eventually got bad and broke it, then returned =P Lol fuck you RainX.. I'll keep buying one and breaking the ones that is virtually impossible to disconnect. Hire a better quality control person
I can't get all the danged preinstalled adapters OFF. I've done a lot of auto repairs but your paper instructions are too small to see, and this video doesn't show how to take all the stuff off before putting the new wiper on. Vehicle is a 2014 Ford Escape. Should be a five minute job, but I;ve spent way too much time on youtube and I still haven't figured out how to get to your starting point on the video. Show the part as it comes in the bax.
Your videos don't reflect reality in any way, shape form. There is no way to 'snap' any of your parts into or out of place without destroying the blade. Every part is sized to be just wrong enough to make a seemingly easy task virtually impossible.
I just bought a pair of these. It was not even close to this simple on my truck. I have zero confidence and I’m thinking about just trashing these or returning them and getting a dodgers brand.
And look what happens when you try to replace just the actual wiper blade insert. They don't want you to. Look at how bad and poor design these blades are. There is no separation of the metal at the ends so you're forced to destroy your new inserts that you bought if you bought them from an auto supply store or the dealership..
Just HORRIBLE to replace the adapter, frustrating, aggravating experience (hours and still no luck!). Called Rain-X, no one in customer support, left a message, no call back. UPDATE: The only way I was able to get the adapter off was to pry it between the adapter and the blade by using a flat head screw driver.
why doesn't anybody manufacture the old style winter blade anymore. Simple, summer blade with a condom over it. Those blades used to last me 5-10 years. Just bought a set of these blades and they are junk right out of the package. 22" long and 5" on each end touch. Rest of the blade is suspended from the glass. And they were $18 each! JUNK!!
This is the worst car product I have ever used. Rebuilding brake calipers on my 1980 corvette was easier than removing the preinstalled connection system. Almost pulled a muscle after 15 mins of pulling on it. The plastic cut my hand too. After all that I realized that despite the wipers being listed as adaptable with my car, they were not. Horrible! Never going to buy their products again!
Yeah this video is bullshit. There's NO WAY IN HELL that those girly hands in the video can remove the old connector SO EASILY. After giving myself blood blisters on my fingers trying to get them off, I succumbed to the temptation and used some pliers to crush the old connectors until they shattered off the wiper blade into a million glorious little pieces. And of course, the I&L attachment goes on and comes off so ridiculously easy.
But why don't come with both contracts on the side and i can put on what i needed?! Simply to do Just Don't install Any conector on the blade ! Please leave the blade Empty! More easy for everyone! Thanks! Personally I'm still working to take out the pre installed conector.....fuk@#$
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUC|/, !!! WHAT NEW CONNECTOR! WHY IS THERE AN OLD CONNECTOR ON THE BRAND NEW BLADE! THIS IS LIKE A SPOOF VIDEO OF SOME SORT RIGHT! Don't make any more how to videos please. Don't even reply to this comment.
I’m taking these back.

Are you still active
@@dynaryda8857 nah. I got out in 14.

Thank you, video made no sense lol
The paper instructions were helpful. Nice to know many others were in the same boat. I'm used to the J hook.
This 100%
I can't get the old one off.

Video saved me time! Thank you. LAWD ya'll bout to have me out in the SUN for HOURS trying to figure this out!

You just saved me 50 buck from getting new wiper arms cause I didn’t know how to use these
It is hard to get the old connector off, could easily break or damage something.
Yup tell me about it
The plat screwdriver it's the way ! Between the blade and the pre installed conector and turn easily till the separate ! Awesome 👌 🆒️
When attaching the new connector, note that if it does not snap into place, then turn it around. It only snaps in one way.
Love the wipers...I have front and rear ...great product

What is he? The worlds strongest man? I’m jacked and I can’t get it off lol
Man I was going nuts until I came across this video I have a 2007 Chevy Avalanche and this is the one that fit best.
thanks
Can’t find the uninstall video!

Wayne Verost i destroye my hand to remove the fucking preinstaled connector in the video look so easy .. Bullshit

Stupid if you trash them

It took you over an hour to conclude that a screw-driver would give you some aide with leverage. WOW
I’m taking these back too. Same part number for driver and passenger. They should be reversed.

These instructions do not work. The adapter does not remove off of the blade without braking it.
E 3months
Don’t work with 2022 Tahoe

Couldn't have put the fucking directions in the package.
Worst instructions. Returning
Why can't you make damb regular windshield wiper attachment. I just wasted 40 dollars on this fucking Garbage
You showed literally nothing …..
shit wipers. Terrible bracket mounts.
