It really is, but people ignored all of the broadcasted changes and jumped in then we see all of these comment sections where people are struggling to advance their badge
Who even asked 2k to change around on the badge system like this got us grinding so much for no reason

I don't like badge regression but being able to get ALL your eligible badges instead of having a set badge point limit is a great change imo. Too bad it isn't a "new" feature because this was in the older 2Ks 😂

This is what I thought about too. I guess those are the badges you would put Floor Setter on, but having to constantly shoot those type of shots to get the higher tier badges is wild

Badge regression SHOULD NOT exist in a mode that is dependent on other people doing their jobs. Unless you run with a crew constantly, you can’t possibly maintain badge levels without playing like a complete sell out. Also, bringing up valid points in a broken system is not whining but please keep thinking it is and 2K will continue sell us consumer out.

What type of player do you have? I usually run by myself but sometimes my friend plays with me. I’m a 6’8 2-way 3 level threat. I look to shoot corner 3’s and play out of the post.

I am so goddamn tired of 2k trying to force offline players to play in the REC or Park, by taking things that used to have a natural progression and making it incredibly slow to grind, or straight up forcing you to arbitrary hoops like an extension of the goddamn weekly stat challenges just to unlock CORE GAMEPLAY FEATURES.
I been playing for 3 days and havent even got a badge close to silver yet
No way I played like 3-4 rec games and got 2 silver badges

Badges 100% still go down with immunity. Either that or my perks are glitched because none of them seem to work for me
This is why silver is the sweet spot for most badges. Super easy to have a bunch of badges at this level. Then the hof and gold badges for the things your game uses the most. It’s a good way to have way more badges than you would in previous 2k’s

Not about to drop more money on a game I paid for to get floor setters (I have a life, so not enough time to grind constantly) and play into their greed. I did enough buying the game. Some are completely broken right now and honestly even when the game is off I think the badges are regressing lol. I don't want added stress when I'm trying to relieve stress as is by playing video games.

Badges still go down for immunity for sure. I have a 6’9 Defensive Anchor Center that can get immovable force HOF. It has been an absolute grind trying to keep it. It seems like it doesn’t activate a lot against the AI, but it definitely does when I’m online in the Rec. I’m at Gold rn w/immunity perk on it. Played a few myCareer games after the Rec and the progress definitely has gone down, but it definitely the immunity has slowed it down at least. In general, centers have the easiest time retaining badges. They need to do something about this because my guard can’t even upgrade unpluckable at this rate.

floor setter is such a bust. youre telling me you gotta grind to level 40 each season to prevent regression on badges? only way i can avoid that grind is if i buy $100+ worth of level skips. what a marketing scam... the gameplay is fun but the badge system is so wack
This year promotes selfish play. Every game is not the same. So when I get boards and kick in park and we win but I don’t shoot I get punished. Shit is ridiculous
Do badges even progress? In my career in games when I progress a badge by doing something specific it shows what badge but when I go check out the progression afterwards nothing shows up?

A lot of the quest are literally just play 12 games with S-tier badge equipped. You should be doing it anyways all you have to do is talk to the people every so often.

For me my career on all star was the easiest to get my defensive badges, right now I have 94 feet clamps challenger and fast feet on gold

If you click RB or R1 you can change who you are guarding on defense, press the ball handler full court
Team practice drills after each game
Also do the quests for the perk badges

I did it on hall of Fame my clamps is about to be gold in 1 more game , 94 feet, fast feet, challenge about to be gold too.

I though so to at first, but if you have any badges that can eventually get to hof really target them. Then you can apply those to over drive and get them up really fast. I think it will be super hard until you get the multipliers then once you get those it won't be terrible. It's just certain badges (relay passer, interceptor) need tweaked so you don't have to activate them 7 times a game to get progress.
Urgh thanks for all this but I just wanna hoop, wish 2k would just concentrate on us receiving perks solely based on high IQ online gameplay but thats a pipe dream 😞
pro am was the best last year. then rec. park been terrible for ages. ppl scared to jump on or jump off and look at your player to see if they want to run or not.

@LastTrueElk How is this a Great System? You make a Build to Suit your Playstyle. You Choose your Badges to suit your playstyle. You have to change strategies on a game to game basis. So certain badges you want to get up are going down. Some badges dont even progress at all. Its a Really bad system. Your build will never truly be complete in the end. I only see myself making 1 build as opposed to the 7 i made last year. It doesnt encourage me to make more builds
My locks out there has anyone gotten literally a slither of progression on interceptor I trigger it 3 times and it still doesn’t go up what do they expect from us. Honestly it’s making us worse at defense now that we have to spam steals just for a chance
Streetball vs disco. Put the guy in bucket hat on disco or shep if you have him, guard the guy rated 74. Go ham. Rookie mode career games and spam the badges you want. Can't believe people out here thinking the badge system sucks. I'm out here.
