Swifty, I don't think Poles is in a big rush to sign a guy yet. Their prices keep dropping the longer they are free agents. Also, there may be a couple more decent guys released by teams in the roster cutdowns. I don't know if Poles will wait that long to sign someone but Bears can really use a vet EDGE.
Competition. That is what we need at the position. More competition, pushing each other to another level.

in terms of campbell his best sack totals came in Jax which ran a 4-3 from 2017 - 19 also his career high in pressure with 85. so im sure he could fit into the system if the bears wanted to go that route.

Once Ngakoue passes team physicals then he will be resigned on a cheaper deal. He is likely good for at least 8 sacks playing opposite of Montez Sweat. Yannik Ngakoue will be the man and a productive DE. It does make sense and Poles is good at that!

It doesnt mater to me as I wanted to draft a pass rusher and we got that Kansas Gopher or was he a Minnesota Jayhawk ? I am pretty much resigned to go with what we got and draft a passrusher next year. Ho hum.
He also went up against future CEOs not future NFL players. He's a Big project.

I wasn't a big fan of the Ngakoue signing personally I prefer a guy that can set the edge and a better tackler. I wanted to see if Sweat could activate him last year but dude got hurt before they could get anything going.

The kid from Yale hurt his quad 7 months ago and still can't practice. That's a Red Flag. He's not going to contribute much this year
Don't want Yannick and his broken/repaired ankle. That vid he did seems kind of sus with him running off the screen to the right in 2 seconds. Why no more? Why not straight? Didn't want us to see his limp? On opening day, It'll be just 9 mos from the time he broke it; imo, too quick for power take offs and cutting against 300+lbs T's. My bet is that he will be much easier to block.
Ogbah is the perfect fit of who's available, much better against the run too. Played over half his career at RDE in a 4-3. Just what we need.
