Keith (Sutty) was right the other week on the podcast. The owners just want Premiership football regardless of position or trophies at minimal cost. No ambition or plan, it’s time to sell to someone who wants to take Wolves further.

@@jackmullin8962 Correct Jack. It’s easy money for the bottom line, particularly if you don’t have to spend a cent. No investment in infrastructure or anything else. That statement by Shi indicates how little ambition they have to take us anywhere. Would love to know what the Manager thinks now there is apparently no pressure on him to win anything. Wolves IS NOT THE CLUB FOR FOSUN….TIME TO GO….🤬

Yeah wouldn't be bothered as long as they sell too an investment owner and they bring actually football people in with real world experience and knowledge of running and building a prem club that aspires to play in europa, champs league? They need sporting people in a sporting director! Someone who has helped build clubs and profit and raise the profile. Fosun and Jeff shi haven't really expanded the brand the last few years, it's gone stagnant. 😔???

I agree with everything you have said
I was born on the outskirts of Wolverhampton in 1939 and brought up as a Wolves fanatic
It is very hard to get over to a person who has not been dedicated to a particular team for most of their life to understand their feelings for that club which becomes an everyday part of their life and an ambition for success
for their team and no other team however successfull will replace that support
be it a non league team or premiership champions
    Wolves forever (Dedicated supporter)

Well said Dave. I am very lucky and can more than afford these rises. I’m on the season ticket waiting list and expect to be offered a season ticket option this summer; I won’t be taking the club up on it. If anyone from the club is reading this please pass on to those responsible for this decision that ultimately it will backfire on them, possibly sooner rather than later. Holding the hard working fans and their families to ransom is not a “good look”. Publicly stating that a fan who is ambitious for the club to do well in cups and get into European competition should perhaps not follow Wolves - goes against what we want and what any self respecting club player and coach would aspire to. It’s displays no pride or ambition and stinks of owners who are content to survive in endless mediocrity. Disrespecting the fan base in this manner - insulting our aspirations for OUR club and disregarding the economic reality for the many who have a long history through generations of following the club, is the ultimate act of an executive out of touch with what really matters.

    • @jackmullin8962
      @jackmullin8962 Місяць тому +2

Well said hes completely out of touch, want him out sacked now! No connection with the fans no more.
Was a very rude response and yeah lack of ambition? When I thought they had 10 year plan to win the league? Get in champs league or europa?
Poor investment that shi signed off silva, podence, cutrone, guedes, sasa were signed off by him at the end of the day. He wasted 35mill on silva and over ruled the scouts, stuck deals with mendes that back fired but fosuns 15% stake in gestifute saw their agency take money from those sales??
I have had enough has no ambition waving the white flag!
Every club should aspire to be best they can and get into competitions and win things. That's the point of the sport and building football clubs not waving the white flag JEFF! Get out of my club! 😡

Fosun when they came in 2016 seem to be a blessing. I am comparing this to the past struggles we had with little or no investment. Looking back now I feel Jeff Shi when he spoke about wanting Wolves to be in Champions League etc was a naive statement as did they realise for success to happen they needed a considerable amount of investment year in and year out. Success takes time but also building a team capable of winning takes money, a good eye for spotting players that are not expensive. I would say that Fosun were not aware maybe that this would take time and significant investment and the acknowledgement that for this to happen they would need to put their hands in their pockets to cover the losses for the first few years. Reality has hit home that they need to spend significantly to bank roll the team to achieve success. When they talk about self sufficient. This will only happen with a developed Molineux that is able to be used all year long. Self sufficiency happens when uou have a team that is in finals and winning them. I think maybe it's time they look at selling to someone who is seriously wanting to bring success to this club.

The more it goes on I really would like us to be for sale it seems like Fosun aren’t the ones to push us forward they just aren’t showing any ambitions to improve us. I really thank Fosun for what they have done but the more and more I think about it if they aren’t prepared to invest anymore it’s time to go before it’s too late. We’ve seen no signs of anymore redevelopment of Molineux and very little backing of the recent managers. It really upsets to me to see that it seems like Fosun is preparing to give up or dig in for the long term. I get we as fans we have to be patient but patience for this long will only breed expectations and we’ve just had our lowest finish in our recent Prem history and they’re now saying our club isn’t for us? And they have the audacity to raise season ticket prices! Unbelievably disrespectful and disgusting.

  • @brian-southampton

Hi Dave, today has exhausted me. Lots of chat on our Discord group regarding this topic and the ticket price fiasco. I’ll sum up my feelings by saying thanks to Fosun for getting us to where we are but enough is enough now. As you quite rightly summed it up “is this club for you?”. If only there could be a wealthy American corporation or even Arab investors. Never thought I’d say this but I’d even take a rebrand to Red Bull Wolves rather than stagnate with the status quo.

Shi has taken the club as far as he can and i think now is the right time to move on!

"Fans also play an important role. If you only pursue trophies or consistent European football, Wolves might not be an ideal choice.
If you only love your local team and don’t mind their sporting achievements, Wolves may not be one either. The chapter of Wolves now is about a patient story of growth; slow, but indomitable, driven by people and not capital". Like you said Dave from saying we would win the premier league and reaching champions league in the next 10 years and we are 9 years in and we are still waiting on this I'm all but thankful for what they have done but personally from my pov now i have no faith in them at all from what they 1 have just said there and also the season ticket prices

I actually think this may be far bigger than football, Dave. Look what happened to Chelsea a few years ago. The club was seized from its owner on the grounds that it was a Russian asset. Right now China is also coming into the crosshairs of an expanding American sanctions regime. Fosun will obviously be concerned that what happened to Abramovich could happen to them. So frankly, yes, they may well be looking to sell. Certainly seems that something's up.

They clearly only see Wolves as a business, wanting the steady revenue that a business provides - and not what we actually are; a football club.
Football being a sport where the entire purpose is to compete and win. With winning comes success.
Think about it; the whole point is to win games. If you consistently achieve this single objective for a sport (you know; the whole damn point), then of course European football and trophies are expected.
I'll have nobody dictate to me whether my club is for me or not, Dave.
It's MY club, for my reasons.
Of course, Wolves will be my club irrespective of if we win trophies, play in Europe, or not. However; because it's MY club, I want US to succeed. It's the whole driving factor for us supporters.
I'm not a big fan of analogies, but this is almost like saying "if you want your kids to be happy and successful, then maybe children aren't for you".
    Ridiculous.
    Thanks for the video, mate.

clear disconnect, football is not a normal business, you are right we deserve owners who have the same dreams as the fans - Fosun & Jeff have improved the club and I am sure we are grateful as fans but this feels like we are near the end - not sure why Fosun bought the club in the first place, if he comes on would be good to get clear on that hard to believe they thought they would be making large profits so why? perhaps they thought they could grow the club commercially in the Asian countries and that has not been as successful as they thought. dunno whatever it was feels like they have given up. Supporters are emotionally attached for life with no divorce, we do not have the option to give up - We'll Never Die...

However, they clearly can't or won't invest in the club any further. They seem to have lost interest and it's probably in the best interests of all parties, if they put the club up for sale.

Dave, Im not racist as im married 2 a philippine girl, but look at the chinese when it comes 2 businesses. Birmingham years ago had chinese owners. Was it porn or somethin dodgy thet were involved in ? Then cardiff, cessful foottche owners wanted 2 change their colours from blue 2 red. Then chinese owners at hull city wanted 2 change their name from hull city 2 hull tigers. Apparantly villa's chinese owners have gone, dont know true that is, and then theirs fo susun, hmmm. All of a sudden theyre reluctant 2 sow money into the club. A while back they were lookin 4 partners 2 come on board with them, why ?
Last season we sold a hell of a lot a lot of money 2 build aof talent worth 2 abide by the ffp. Where did all that money go when we were back in cdedit dave ? And now in shi's letter 2 the paper he was quoted as sayin, if you want to compete 4 europe every season and win trophies ( if i quoted tha it takes time andt right) maybe this aint the club 4 you. Fosun maybe this aint any longer the club 4 you. In case you wernt aware it takes a lot of money 2 build a successful football team. Sell wolves 2 some one who has a genuine vision 2 see our team become what you so loosely promised years ago.

It’s sad that the owners think this way. I’ve been a wolves fan for over 50 years. I am glad we are in the Premier League. I just feel that expecting to win trophies or the league is not realistic given the amount of money other owners are prepared to put into their clubs.

From a wider political view-point I can’t say that I have ever been enthused by Chinese ownership and have always wondered quite what motivations lie behind it. I dare say much the same can be said for American or Arab ownership - basically football at this level is merely a vanity project for these companies or mega-rich individuals as they generally know BA about the game itself and have little affinity for the local area and population. How lucky we were to have had Sir Jack eh !!

Tourists don't come to wolves, I lived in London for 17 year travelling to wolves every home game and you would see tourists on the underground with 4 or 5 bags of things from Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, that's great if you only want one off supporters. But when you live in a area like Wolverhampton or come from that area it's more that a one trip to see a game it's your life it's your proud to be from the Black Country lm 60 years old and remember the sad day's of the 80s it took a lot to put wolves back on the map let's not lose it again please.

That’s an excellent point you raise. The geo political and macro economic issues has clearly unsettled them. Fosun have had to appease their government with issues of their borrowing practices, debt management and their cash flow. They are in the process of offloading a substantial number assets to improve their cash position. I wouldn’t be shocked if Wolves were to be one of the assets that is eventually sold.

Well Dave I'm afraid Fosun see Wolves much the same as any other of their numerous businesses ie. an operation run to make a return on their capital invested simple as that. Forget enthusiasm for football to them that is not relevant, emotion does not come into it. I've said in the past that I do not like Chinese ownership and taken criticism for that, but it feels like the chickens are coming home to roost, so unfortunately I'm not surprised but very saddened if that is true. Wolves need an owner who loves the game, wouldn't that be a breath of fresh air.Heaven knows what kind of message this sends to the manager and players, and prospective players who may have come in the transfer window but may be put off. Always Wolves Dave.

In the end it will spell disaster for the club as it will sink further with bad game eesults with players n mgr leaving.

I take the view that Shi is no divorced from the fan base and tradition….he has lost his way ..possibly with a lack of support from Fosun, given todays statement on season tickets …and more importantly for me the kicking out of the existing North Bank fans from the North Bank bar in favour of the Premier “ Holiday” fans

  • @stephenmorley3285

I do hope Wolves are for sale and if administration is on the agenda this will serve Fosun right because ultimately it is they who will suffer financially. The total lack of ambition by Shi is both outrageous and unacceptable. I have been a critic for some time . This is also typical of Chinese government policy and a clear sign of their deeper financial problems which will have far wider consequences.

      Yes I agree.
Bullet, meet foot. It’s an amazing statement.
Fair play to Dave for pulling this out as he’s right, as a statement of intent it sadly speaks volumes. Christ, Shi couldn’t have spelt it out more clearly!
‘Want to support an ambitious club who want to compete, to win leagues, cup or European competitions? I’m sorry, I think you’re at the wrong club. May I give you directions to Villa park, they’re not very far from here….’
And reading this, how must our manager feel, especially as he may have other clubs on the phone and sniffing around at the moment.
Earlier today i was wishing hammers fans good luck getting Lopetegui and warning them of his short attention span, but sitting here after hearing this latest Shi/Fosun soundbite it sounds like he saw the writing on the wall early and got the hell out of dodge!
Trouble is there’s not exactly a queue at the door of billionaires waiting.

    Dave,
it has been apparent to me. For quite some time at this club. Now is owned by. An organisation that are interested only one thing. Money they're not interested in providing trophies for the fans, This is a problem when you are owned by an investment organisation rather than sports enthusiasts Who also knows the english game,
I can also tell you Dave. There are a lot of the great players that have come here by using Wolves as a stepping Stone. That's part of their investment policy. After all, wolves are not a Manchester City team in here eyes.

If your not moaning about signing players your moaning about our lead of the gang and if its not our leader of the gang its the owners.......
Now your putting out a stupid pertition which I don't agree with and what I say to you is pay the ticket price or cancel your season ticket....... Unfortunately we don't have a 50000 seater stadium which would allow the owners to lower the ticket prices....... I think your ego has got the better of you and the information you post on UA-cam is all on the Internet and in the papers for everyone who has a pair of eyes to see it for themselves....... as I said to you Che Adams is being looked at by several clubs including wolves......you made a silly comment do I know that as a fact....... anyone with a clear head can see we are in a battle to sign Adams for free. The signing for Adams should have been done months ago, but I think he's keeping his options open....... I would cancel that pertition and cancel your season ticket for the coming season 24/25.
