      Thanks for this feedback. So in future reviews what exactly would you want to see showcased with HDR? Gameplay with it toggled on/off? We will see what we can work into our reviews going forward so please let us know!
      Also this monitor claims HDR 1000 but technically you would need 10-bit processing so...

    Yeah that UFO test didn't show anything, you'd have to take a still photo and compare the perceived motion blur to get any sort of useful information. A 30 fps youtube video will not be able to show the smoothness of this monitor or likely any monitor for gaming. Seriously there doesn't need to be so much b-roll of the monitor because it's quite literally impossible to judge how good it looks with the limits of youtube and your own monitor, I'd rather just hear you talk about it and how you think it compares to other monitors. I'm most likely going to buy this as I (as well as most people buying a 240hz monitor) can tell it's a fantastic monitor, but the majority of this review was useless to watch. Go over the build quality more, compare it to other monitors, try the vesa mounting, or even recommend good color settings for people considering purchasing.

    You didn't mention in your review how bright the monitor can get. I know it's advertised as HDR 1000 but I was hoping you would have tested that as some monitors can't achieve their advertised brightness.

    • @tvchef
      @tvchef  10 місяців тому +3

      We are trying to figure out how to test brightness... HDR really seems to just be a marketing ploy on all these budget gaming monitors!

    • @acurisur
      @acurisur 10 місяців тому +8

      I doubt it's a marketing ploy, it's a Mini LED monitor, and any monitor running that sort of panel gets very bright. I suspect the low price has more to do with where the manufacturer is based rather than its quality.
      What I would like to know is if it actually hits 1000 nits of brightness as a lot of monitors can't reach that advertised brightness level

      I have this monitor. I have also an omen 27u (4k). I decided to use the 240hz koorui for gaming and it's excellent.
      So my comment though is on the HDR brightness. I can say it's so damn bright at times I have to look away. If the sun for instance in Witcher 3 comes into central view it's like accidently looking at the sun for real.
      I'm gonna pass on HDR until I figure a way to perhaps reduce its intensity as no joke it actually seems to me that mini led with HDR is legit dangerously brightj

    Solid review, tempted to pull the trigger but hearing too many bad things on subreddits where everyone's returning it. I guess AdaptiveSync and HDR cannot be used together at the same time.. causes major issues. If that's the case they really fudged up a good lookin monitor

    • @acurisur
      @acurisur 10 місяців тому +1

      Mini LED seems to have an issue using HDR and VRR at the same time, this is the 3rd different Mini LED monitor I've seen that can't do it properly.
      Coolermaster has two Mini LED monitors that both flicker when HDR and VRR are enabled.
      So I'd say that Mini LED monitors are a good option if HDR is your main priority and OLED is out of your price range.

    • @B-ROYalty
      @B-ROYalty 10 місяців тому

      @@acurisur well that's really unfortunate, I'm more into fast paced competitive games but starting to explore solo titles where those two things might be very important to me. I guess OLED would be the best for everything but I know for sure I wouldn't be too upset if I had a nice mini led either lol

    • @acurisur
      @acurisur 10 місяців тому +2

      @@B-ROYalty Agreed, I guess for now you'll have to turn HDR off when you're playing something like CS GO and then turn HDR on when you're playing something like Cyberpunk 2077. As time goes on though and the Mini LED tech matures, we'll start to see 2nd and 3rd gen monitors that can do HDR and VRR at the same time.

  • @lasagna2933
    @lasagna2933 9 місяців тому +4

    I got the gn10 and experienced the adaptive sync issues and found the cause, activating hdr within windows seems to bug everything out including the settings inside the monitor. It would seem hdr works automatically within the screen because the colors looked exactly the same.
    update on the issue: I'm returning the monitor, the issue still appears but the game i tested the first time didnt seem to trigger it, it still happens a lot less though but its horrible.
    The issue appears in every game on the menu, the monitor literally goes insane flickers every 0.5 secs

    • @imjustvibinboi2406
      @imjustvibinboi2406 6 місяців тому +1

      maybe, it depends on if the VRR works with the Mini Led backlight on, there were multiple complaints on reddit about the fact that the mini led backlight would switch to a normal LCD backlight when stuff like GSYNC, FreeSync and Adaptive sync were turned on, so if the firmware updates haven't fixed this issue then its going to be as good as a normal 1440p 240hz VA. That being said, I'd get it over the Odyssey G7 since it's cheaper and it will be better for watching HDR content despite the fact that the G7 is a qled vs a normal lcd and it has a chance to have a firmware update to fix the issue in the future.
