Wow! I don’t know if you see comments left on your old videos. It’s now November 2023, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I’ve fallen in love with Derwent as well. They are quite beautiful pencils. I absolutely love Coloursoft. Until now I hadn’t tried the Chromoflows. Beautiful creamy pencils. They all work so deliciously beautifully together and with Lightfasts. I love all the colors of all the sets.
Hi Lucy, another Derwent-ophile here. So glad to see you really enjoying your new pencils. Funny, for me I find the Coloursoft greens too unnaturally bright and prefer the Procolour range of greens. The Drawing pencils are beautiful colours and very soft to use. I've just finished watching someone else's video comparing Coloursoft, Prismacolor and Black Widow, and talk of chalk and cheese; such a diverse range of opinion expressed between the two of you. My thoughts, no two people will totally agree and it is best to match pencils to colouring styles.
Hi Jude, I totally agree there. Having spent some time playing with them, the greens are a little bright, but off setting them with drawing set, I have been able to come up with some great combinations. My next goal is the 120 set of artist pencils. I cant get enough of Derwent. x
Your swatching sheets look so pretty. I have the artist pencils and they are a lot harder and I need to layer the colour like polychromos but I love them as I like a harder pencils. I may be in the minority but I don’t get along well with Prismacolor. I love the Derwent brand so many pretty colours. Enjoy your new colour soft pencils, I can’t wait to see what you colour with them x
Hi Emma, Thank you the sheets are just ones I made up on Word. I also like hard pencils like the Polys and the Pablos. My next goal it the artists pencils, but I have just ordered the new 48 set of Black Widows so I will have to wait.

( It is a specsial day the 27 of September that was picked for my Birthday instead of my true birthday which is Jan 4th.) I went home to visit and they my sister and some friends wonted to give me a party. It was so much fun! Just love my Twin Sister.
Also, I forgot Blackberry is another of my favourites. I am trying to assemble the full colour range for Derwent. I have 36 old Artists pencils, the full set of Procolour and Coloursoft. Some of the Procolour colours are duplicates of the Artist range so I'm trying to get 1 pencil of each colour and work them all into a huge colour chart and store them in big case together so that I have the full range at my disposal as I find 72 a bit limited when working on a picture. It's a big task!
Hi Lucy, totally agree with you about Derwent pencils, especially the Coloursoft range. They are my favourite pencils across all brands for colouring backgrounds. I only have to graze the paper with the coloursoft pencils and the colour flows into the paper.

Hi Louise, they are amazing arent they? Oooh I love Jane's pictures but I only have the PDFs, but at least I can print them on decent card stock. Jackson Art had the individual Coloursofts for a really reasonable price last time I looked. x
Yes Lucy you got a great deal on those pencils , and they are beautiful. All I have is the small set of skin tones , I wanted to test them out. The skin tones are not soft enough for me , Maybe because all I use are Prismacolors. The colors are just beautiful and vibrant.

I was thrilled to find the 36 set of these at a local closeout store here in the US for $8. They were sealed & only the tin slightly dented. Anyway, I like them very much but find that they break after sharpening often.
I love Derwent too. But these are my least favourite of the ranges because I find I can't layer much more than 3 or 4 times. And mine are dusty. That gorgeous palest pink won't sharpen, it breaks all the time so I bought another and that's the same! The formula just seems too fragile on that one. But I LOVE the Loganberry, Cranberry, Blood Orange. They are gorgeous colours. There's no crumbling with the Artists range (as you know now). The Prismacolor greens seem false to us up here in the Northern hemisphere. Derwent greens and blues are more natural to our corner of the world.
I absolutely love my colour soft, the colours are gorgeous, apart from the some of the greens, as another viewer said.., don’t look natural. I mix and match with prismas, but there are some colour soft colours I couldn’t live without.l my faves are, greyed lavender, sea green, grey green, bright lilac, pale lavender, , soft pink, blackberry and I really like pale brown.
Hi Foxglove, I know what you mean about some of the greens. I have complemented the set with the 24 drawing pencils. They have some really beautiful colours in the set. x
I was very lucky to inherit my husbands pencil collection, hes a very talented botanical artist, who has developed arthritis in his hands and can no longer grip a pencil, so i got 72 set coloursoft, full sets of prismas, derwent artists pencils, pablos and polychromos, dont think i need ever buy pencils again, sadly my good fortune is at the expense of my husbands arthritis, trying to do them justice x
Are those oily or wax pencils? I have been watching all UA-cam videos on Derwent pencils and have decided I want these, and like you, I’m waiting for a used set too.

Wow Pj what a good price! Yes you do have to be gentle with them when sharpening them. 💖🤗

I find that they do better on paper with more tooth. I also find that they don't blend easily. They have some wonderful unique colors.
They work beautifully on cartridge paper and seem to blend well on that too 💖🤗

These are my #1 VERY VERY fav colored pencils, so wish theyd come out with more colors. I prefer these over prismas (as I hate prismas myself)
