It can be very time consuming but I tend to get lost in the edit and re-live the entire flight so it doesn’t feel like the amount of effort! Must be similar for you! Thanks for the kind words, Tim. As soon as the weather picks up we should meet up somewhere!

Thanks Nick & Anna. Interesting every minute. Its like our Irish Sea passages but compressed into a 1/20th of the time. Those CB's have laid us flat before but we don't have as far to fall as you do. Looking forward to your 2024 videos. Happy New Year from all on Mistral of St Helier

I had a PPL back in the 1970s and used to fly with MFS out of MAN.I often wondered about qualifying on one of your machines.

Highly recommend the two part door upgrade, so you can fly with the top half open - Skyranger aircon ;-)
Haha you have just set me off now - that thought hadn't occurred to me until then lol! I do like the idea of the split door but I would imagine it lets double the rain in when it rains?
Hi Nik. My Skyranger has the 2 piece doors, i've not noticed any rainwater getting in. They're definitely useful aircon on a hot day either on the ground or in the air.
I imagine the gliders at Hus Bos were taking advantage of the thermal activity. Hope you both have a good '24. Looking forward to more of your videos. Anna seems to be getting very enthusiastic about the flying. Think she's been bitten by the bug?
It was a funny old leg from WW to Leics. It was generally quite smooth except for a few pockets of very lively air but yes - definitely a day for gliders! Anna really enjoyed that trip and it did wonders for her confidence. I find I’m a reflection of my passenger - if my passenger is stressed or uncomfortable it affects me too!
@@LetsGoFlying I am not surprised. Must be damaging to your confidence and concentration if you have a passenger who would much rather be on the ground.
Is it much cooler once you get up in the air? I seem to recall something like a 2 degree reduction for every 1000 feet. Do you get much airflow through the cockpit?
It is usually cooler but It wasn't that weekend! I am sure there was a temperature inversion as well. The airflow is good but there comes a point where you can have all the airflow you want, its still 32 degree air being blow in your face 🤣. Thanks for watching!
Been watching a bunch of your videos and gathered an interest in the skyrangers, one thing I'm super curious about though, is how do you check the Oil? Do you have to remove the cowling for every pre-flight?
Thank you and welcome to the channel! Yeah you check the oil on pre flight checks. I would always remove the top cowl before I fly to check a list of items you can’t see without removing it.
@@LetsGoFlyingawesome thank you, is the cowl hinged or do you have to remove a bunch of screws each time to remove it? I recently looked at a skyranger classic, and it was all screws, but I didn't know if there's a newer option for a latch or something
