    When they refer to, “poor vs rich,” they aren’t necessarily referring to your financial state but to your mindset; poor mentality vs rich mentality that will lead you to success.

    This has blessed me. I have been doing ALL of the 15 things poor people do and have been teaching it to my son which even thinking of it is repulsive. From now on I am committed to becoming an EXPERT in doing the opposite and taking control of my life instead of just floating through. I am committed to teaching myself and my son how wealthy people think. God bless you both. Kim

      This is just a wake up call to me. I always thought i had positive mindset, up until i saw this. There is lots of improvement that i need to do and i'm very happy that i am willing to take accountability and another note, i have written this down, plucked it on my fridge. It will always be my constant reminder on what i have to do to take control of my life. Thank you Kris. Mandisa

      man this is the same way I value things. I look at it like "man, i traded 20 hours for this?" The only thing I don't think that way for is food
      My grandfather always said something when I was younger that never hit me until I became an adult. He wasn't a fantastically wealthy man, but he did retire at 40 and lived comfortably. But when I would go out with him as a kid and see something I wanted and ask "how much does it cost?" he would say "if you have to ask, then you can't afford it"

    I don't really understand #2. I always buy the things that I need in bulk when they are on sale, especially clothes and stuff that doesn't expire like shampoo or detergent. I don't really see how that can hurt me. But I definitely agree with the other points.

    • @MarshallMathersthe7th
      @MarshallMathersthe7th 6 років тому +40

      I don't think they mean that, they should've clarified it though.. They mean buying products you don't need when they are on sale. And that can be anything. Don't buy stuff you don't need!

      I think they refer to people buying things they don't really need just bcos they're on sale. Happens to a lot of people and these stores work with psychologists also to make sure the prices are in your face as soon as you walk into the stores.

      Totally right. I have a friend who used to buy a lot of sale food items using coupons, and bring to me because her family did not like or even wanted to try, just because she did not wanted to "lose" the coupon and the sale!

    • @onearmedwolf6512
      @onearmedwolf6512 6 років тому +4

      He did clarify though, and I don't necessarily believe it was specific to things somebody doesn't need. Not to say that isn't a huge part of it! But they are saying that your mindset needs to be set on bigger, better things or opportunities and experiences and deciding that it is absolutely possible, necessary, going to happen without a doubt. Poor people can live so set on the now and needs we believe we cannot go without and neglect to try thinking outside the box or going without completely or just a little bit longer while establishing new habits, beliefs, and patterns. Just my thoughts, anyway! BTW, this is my fiancé's profile.. I am Katarina Giselle. I' m. Just on his old phone atm and keep forgetting to switch the profile, lol!

    I don't think people who get payday loans, or most of them, do so because they don't want to delay gratification, they usually do it to keep themselves from being evicted or keep the lights on.

      Nathan Anderson that is what they feel, but it is an unhealthy thought process. I have been there.. I should have just gone out and made more money instead of acting out of desperation.

    • @brandell4638
      @brandell4638 6 років тому +11

      I can see that way of thinking Nathan. However, other than a rare occurrence, if loans are needed more often, then a change needs to happen. If a person can't pay rent consistently, then they need a cheaper place. Most of my 'poor' neighbors have the latest iPhone- yet want to 'borrow' $20 for kid's food. A loan can't solve the core issues as a general idea.

    This makes total sense to me. I examined the fact that society puts a lot of trust in a 401k. But when your understanding of real estate is opened up there is a ridiculous amount of money out there to be made. I have a strong option to get into it and the only thing standing between me and it is that freakin 401k. This was refreshing.

    This was an excellent video that will definitely improve my quality of life. The only thing I would say to change is number two. I would encourage people to buy things on sale. I am fairly experienced in the realm of "you get what you pay for" and I have been burned more than once in that particular area. Being someone who's now doing well for the place I came from, I would say that one of the biggest tools I had was to be smart about what I paid. I buy my winter clothes in the summer and my summer clothes in the winter. The reason for this is that high end stores buy a certain amount of product and that product becomes less desirable over time, depending on the season or time of year,, however, it doesn't make the product any lower quality. Shopping for sales, I manage to save a ton. I bought a $130 dollar jacket for $20 on clearance and a $400 coat for $120. This works extraordinarily well for items that are seasonal and just as well if you understand the value trends of costly items. A good example is when I used to be obsessed with having the newest phone. (I'm in IT) I used to go 6 months without a phone but make $200 a year while always having the newest phone at all times back when they gave discounts for buying them at full price. (Now with the monthly payment plans, I just buy 2 older models outright and wait for a deal, then go in with someone else for a new one when they go buy one get one free, and sell the older ones). I also keep a keen eye out for cars. For example I love Mustangs. I know that ford produces a new model mustang roughly every five years, although they're apparently not redesigning their body from 2015 until around 2025. This lets me know that the usual price drop on the year or older models, including the limited 2013 model will not occur and it's smarter to wait a few years. Anyway, I think you should study up on the things that you really want and how economic abundance affects their price in order to obtain the things you want and need at the best price. This can have some drawbacks. I have been wanting a new car for years (I drive an 05' mustang) but know that the 2019 model won't drop the price of the 2013 refresh that I really want, so I'll wait until 2026, buy it at a huge discount, and upgrade the tech on my own. I forgot to mention that this type of lifestyle can require you to learn new skills, but it is entirely beneficial to you as a person. In the past several years, I've learned to work on almost all components of an 05' mustang, script in powershell, set up old and outdated pc's to handle high quality VR environments, and relearned how to build Cisco based networks.
    This was longer than I intended.
    Thanks for the info, I think it's really impacted the way I think about my financial future. I have a few ideas that I've wanted to put out there, but just haven't had the motivation to work on them.
    Thanks again,
    ~Dante

    Point 10. Entitlement resonated strongly with me. I have always naturally avoided the entitlement mindset. Because as a kid, I had understood that the world is unfair and for most people, this can start with their family. That, depending on the system in the moment of a crisis is a fool's errand, is not digested well by people, even the highly educated ones. I believe that Entitlement kills the very desire of a person to take control of his life and finances.

    I DOUBT rich people always pay full ticket to everything! IT HELPS businesses to buy when they make sales as they need the cash flow.... so you are wrong on both counts

      Snooker Coaching At The Snooker Gym You totally missed the point!
      The mindset that you need to rip someone off to feel like you are getting a good deal is not a "rich" mindset.
      The rich try to find deals that benefit everyone involved.
      Instead of fighting over who gets the bigger piece of the pie, figure out how to make the pie bigger.
      Instead of a scarcity mindset, the rich have an abundance mindset.
      I'm wealthy, so I'm looking for ways to make others wealthy as well as ways that I can increase my wealth.

      This is more in reference to buying things BECAUSE they are on sale not because you need them. Not saying you can't buy things you need that are on sale.

    If people just saved five or $10 a week but not going out to eat or not going to Starbucks or getting their coffee outside they would say hundreds of dollars a month.

    I like to sleep in and occasionally eat fast food at one of the 3 big ones. And i don't think i am ever going to change to getting up early, i have a depression. I already dislike life, but when i have to wake up early i am extra angry at myself and truly hate my life the first waking hour.
    That is how it is with me, i want to change, i want to do something with my life, i want to make an impact... I really would like to get into real estate yet i only watch these videos.
    I think it is time to take the first step, talking to people who actually sell houses, talk to financial advisors who can finance my projects since i don't have alot of money.
    I am thinking, if i can find a house i can rent out like instantly (guaranteed income) why wouldn't they lend me money for it right? Or am i missing something?
