Really like your reviews! One thing that tripped me up the first time I played this game is that the highest card always wins even if it’s not the suit that was led. To clarify, that’s only when no player has played a card below the value of the bottle.
Good review. Question: if the bottle card is 19 and a=10, b=15, c=23, d=30 (all the same color)..... does b win? Also can a player who plays different than the lead color win the trick?
Yes to both your questions. b would win (highest trick under bottle price); and secondly highest card wins (if all cards are higher than bottle price) despite colour. (Trusting all tried to follow colour if they had it)
A great game, but I must be the worst player ever. I've yet to win a game, I always manage to end up with that bottle. I'm beginning to think it's cursed! 🤣 Any chance of a few hints and tips?
@@thediceyreview thanks for the reply I haven’t played that yet but have been looking at that. I have the crew but it gets zero play since it’s just the 2 of us most of the time. Trying to find a. 2 player trick taking game other than fox and the forest I didn’t know broom service was trick taking
@@bestatstartrek6695 Sure! So yes it is essentially a trick taking game. It has a following mechanism that is very similar to trick taking so I put it under that category. It's such a great game that reminds you of trick taking elements but puts some tension on top of it. It's great fun. It's really best at 4-5 but can be played at 2 and has a neat mechanism that puts more tension on the 2 player game.

Jason Mathew yes that was a strange aspect to me as well. I probably should have made some extra emphasis of that point.
Great rules explanation
Spot on! Such a great game!
Thanks so much!

What is your favorite trick taking game to date
Currently it’s Broom Service, but I haven’t had a chan e to play The Crew yet and I’ve heard that one is fantastic.
