Story time!!!!
So growing up Halloween was always so Taboo to celebrate. My mother is from Ghana and was extremely religious. She did not believe in celebrating Halloween at all. However, it was hard for her to continue this ritual with me as a kid because of all that was going on around me and at school. So her agreement was that I could dress up as long as it wasn’t anything “evil” monsters, witches etc. Of course I was always a princess, an angel, an M&M ( True story). Then when it came to Trick or Treating it was an absolute NO, with her hand on hips she squinted and asked “So you want to go and collect candy from strangers “ (with a thick accent) . Needless to say I was always the one in costume at the door giving other kids candy 🤷🏽‍♀️😅
