I was mixing this band in Bogota. It was some european band, so they needed 110v to 220v converters. They had 3 of them in the front. Ten minutes before show time we notice that two of them where stolen, and we didn't have any more left. Being this a small venue, people in the front could reach the stage with their hands, so it was easy to grab the converters. Security spent some time searching the place for them to no avail. Our lights guy, who was a good electrician, had to come with some of his tricks to get the show go.
The Eagles Club/Rave!!!! What a funky ole’ house! Did a show in The Rave venue there in January, and got a chance to roam around (including the pool in the basement). ‘‘Twas a wild ride in many ways...including the fact that ghosts in the building didn’t want me running my Waves rack that day :/...
It would be cool to see a video of you going through your foh setup (since you seem to have access to it now) and going through all the gear you use and how you have it all setup and physically laid out
Awesome video guys! I have a question maybe you guys can answer in a later episode - How do you add saturation to things to kind of work as compression? My experience with saturation has largely been an effect on things like bass to act as a sort of distortion sound. I hear you guys talking about saturation on virtually everything, and I can't imagine doing that and everything not ending up sounding all distorted. Can you guys speak to how to do that?
Ha the club mix position comment.....my gosh...90 % of the clubs I started in where crows nest or worse....now with an iPad no biggie but back then....or trying to get a bands stage volume under control in those early days....like talking to a brick wall...
I actually like The globe in Stockholm for mixing it down afterwords in ProTools ... I end up jacking up the audience mics and turning off the verbs. But for FOH I can feel your pain.
Man to hear these stories us great. This is one of my favorite episodes so far! So thankful for you guys! 👍🏽
I have learned so much from the dead honesty of you both sharing the reality of this industry.. thank you!!!
Absolutely loved this one, some great stories.
Fantastic guys
Guys, would be great if you could do a zoom one where some of us could be there asking questions??
I don't know where to start. I'm just laughing to myself out loud the whole time.
Pooch & Rabold, the soundtrack of 2020! 🤘

I have never been to Eagles Ballroom but have heard it is like the Aragon in Chicago, only sideways.

Document in your show file what you did that worked at that venue. Document even the most obscure thing.
“ I’m getting laid” hahahah
