While I do not have any of the TIVs myself, I got a really good intercept with a portable probe yesterday when an orange TVS tornado touched down outside Funkley and barreled straight through Trent then turned southeast towards Viroqua. I set the probe on the highway going from north to south soon after it reached the orange signal and got almost 200 MPH winds on it. Easily my most perfectly timed intercept.
Best chance to get a tiv is step 1 is to get a direct hit on any TD or tornado or use a mesonet on a car then buy a fast car after that repeat step 1 until you have 100+ money on twisted then you can buy tiv1 and just repeat to get other chaser vehicles and the most expensive is the dow or doppler on wheels I hope this helped😊❤
TIV versus tornado. You see I may have shot down the idea of putting Titus from Into the Storm into this game when someone brought up the question in the group chat, but at the same time, it'd be pretty neat if it were added honestly. That way I get to quote Pete and say "Titus versus tornado." Not to mention it'd be pretty funny, since Titus is an absolute JOKE of a vehicle, so if it were added for the memes I wouldn't mind. Needless to say, that first big intercept you had with TIV ended the same way as it did for Titus at the end of the movie. 🤣🤣 _(btw if you don't know what Titus is, watch Into the Storm; cool movie, and Titus is a cool truck, but given how it was designed, this lifelong vehicle enthusiast went Gordon Ramsay scorched earth on it)_ I've got a bit of catching up to do with the previous entries in the 2022 storm chasing series, but upon seeing TIV 1 I had to jump in. I just love that vehicle so much. For starters, it was the first vehicle that got me into storm chasing and even deeper into weather and tornadoes than I've ever been before. Not to mentioned it pioneered a new generation of storm chasing with the concept of building armored tanks to drive into tornadoes. Every vehicle ranging from stars such as TIV 2 and the Dominators, to lesser-known vehicles the likes of Dorothy of the Iowa Storm Chasing Network (now the Stormpiercer of Storm Seeker Storm Chasing), the Urban Tornado Assault Vehicle and the Tornado Attack Vehicle-1, built by NASCAR driver Steve Green (and yes, even the Hollywood Titus), all owe their existence to TIV 1. Second, the vehicle just looks incredible. Very pleasing to the eye with its sleek build and stainless-steel silver paint job. And it's a beast: 16,000 lb curb weight _(the heaviest of any tornado tank, real or fictional)._ Claws were added to it in the beginning of Discovery's Storm Chasers, and in the very first episode, it took a direct broadside hit from a 200-mph wedge tornado. Today, TIV 1 is owned by storm chaser Robert Clayton, who is restoring it to working order while adding some upgrades, most prominent of which being the replacing of the claws with a new set of spikes, just like TIV 2. Upon completion, I guarantee you it will be the strongest tornado intercept vehicle of them all. Which is why I'm so disappointed that it is so underpowered in Twisted. I sent a proposal to the devs in the group chat a few days ago not only asking if they could add the claws and spikes but making it so you can customize the vehicle to choose which you want to use or if you want to go without, not unlike choosing to add lift gears and mesonets for regular cars. I believe the intercept vehicles in Twisted are in dire need of a customization option, and with this idea, it could make it so the way you set up your vehicle helps determine its threshold. TIV 1 is capable of surviving much higher winds than 170-mph: I can tell you that much. An option to customize the colors would be nice too. Maybe they plan on adding these in the future, since the game is still in Beta and the finished product will likely have a lot more things. I certainly hope so. Meantime, really glad you gave her some screentime here, Jesse. :) 👍
I agree, Dominator 1 is better, but why should they even make them the same price? Okay, ima be honest i only have a Dodge truck, but seriously why does the TIV 1 look so cooler than the other chaser vehicles?
There's an absolute boatload of stock footage, both used and unused, from the film that warnerbros put up on getty. His intro is one of the stocks taken during the F2 scene. ua-cam.com/video/J5lEufvlSok/v-deo.html
jesse gillet deserves a diamond playbutton and btw i learned this lesson if it passes 220 then the tornado is not interceptiable and you have to ditch it anyway i love ur vids jesse
The name of this video tells me its already gonna be great!
