Hollywood uses a powerful distribution system their films in the world. As a result of this the USA got absolutely monopoly for showing American films almost in any country. The Soviet and Russian films have national specific that is unclear for Western viewers. As I think only judges of art watch our films abroad. Besides Mosfilm does not try to promote its films in the world like Hollywood.

But, there are some exceptional russian movies such as forrest gump, it is real storyline movie. i thinks, russian people lacked interest to improve their own cinema. i am from india, In india, the bollywood promotes into various country. i know, there are many nice movies in russia.. if you russians, promote in europe, it will be huge success and popular. But, russian people love to watch graphic oriented american movies. though, they know, all their villans are russians in american movie. But, in reality, russians are so cool and kind. If russian government take care of russian cinema, it will be huge success.. .before soviet union collopse,, there were many amazing movies in russia.. now, it was no more.
Muthu Kumar You are right. Most young people in Russia do not value own films. After the USSR collapse a part of our people has been subjected to a massive American propaganda about the ''only correct American values". At that moment many of us forgot our culture and traditions and our film studios began to copy American films and TV-shows. Later we knew that the USA and Europe hate us as a nation. Many of their films show us as alcoholics, enemies and just stupid people:( We love Indian films and Indian great culture and we have a special channel with Indian films. Besides Indian films were popular in the USSR. Now in Russia people begin to show an interest in Soviet films again. Also, new Russian films are gradually improving their quality. Forrest Gump is a 1994 American epic romantic comedy-drama film based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis.

I also imagined russians are dangerous person in the world because of american impact movies such as rocky 4 and ton of american movies. Then, when i visited goa, i analyzed russians are the only person in the world who give respect to india and 40000 years indian culture, i am learning russian language on my own, i am doing phd in computer science, i wish, when i finished my doctorate, i come to mosfilm and do some small works. )) I am very happy to speak with you, Vadim) future is in our hands)
