This is literally the next camera I am going to pick up. Fun fact Magnum Photographer Alex Majoli used this camera and the C-5060 when documenting the conflict in Afghanistan.
@@rwalshphotos5626 No way what a coincidence! It's been great I really like it 📸 and yes I'm familiar with his work I've heard a few people from the Olympus community mention that particular camera and body of work 📸
The 8080 is a superb camera. Built like a tank with a stunningly well-corrected lens. This is from the days when camera manufacturers spent money where it counted-the glass.
Hi Max! Great review! Wonderful shots! I been using some of the older bridge cameras and enjoy not having to carry a bunch of lens. I even shot a client job using one and the photos that were chosen were from the bridge camera. Used a point and shoot, DSLR and a bridge for the shoot and the bridge was the most consistent. The gear never defines you as a professional, the creativity does! Always great content and enjoy your positive attitude! Thanks for sharing! I think those triangles on the poles are to indicate the end of the pier. When the tide comes in the remains would be submerged!
@@thissidetowardscreen4553 Thank you glad you enjoyed this one! and yes this camera has sparked a desire to try more bridge cameras, is there a particular one out there you’d recommend? I do like the LUMIX range. Ahh yes that makes complete sense to be a marker! Thank you 📸🤝
@@CameraNostalgiaClub Bridge cameras have challenges and I know that they are limited, but sometimes the enjoyment is found in an all in one set up. I use a Pentax X-5, I have a few early Kodak CCD sensor cameras, don't consider them bridge, but more like bridge zoom camera.
The C-7070 was the next incarnation after the C-5060. I own the C-5050 and all of these cameras produce excellent images. Alex Majoli was a war time photographer during the Iraq conflict and he used these cameras to great effect and much praise.
@@cmdrvex ahh yes I would like to try the C-7070 I have a feeling it could be right up there with my favourites of all time! Just haven’t been able to get my hands on one yet 📸✨
hullo mate! i stumbled upon your video just as i was considering buying a new camera and well... t'was a well proper vid from your part, i must say... altho' i've got a question 'bout the camera itself: i might've missed it, but can the small, articulating lcd screen be fully tilted so as to take selfies... vlog... you being able to see yourself whilst recording?... you get the gist (i hope so)... anyways... great vid! you've just got a brand new like... keep it up! cheers!
Hey sadly not it's just a tilting screen so you can shoot from the hip. I am aware of the Olympus E-620 having a fully articulating screen to take selfies etc although its a pretty big camera so might be awkward to do so 📸
Hmm a 8.8 x 6.6 mm senzor, it is lot smaller than even a one-inch sensor 13.2 x 8.8 mm. The images are OK, but to get a beefier camera Minolta Dynax 7D or Canon EOS 300D are really affordable these days, and they have 251 x 167 mm sensor.
@@miklosnemeth8566 Yes agree I thought for the size of the camera it is rather small. I have been looking into some SLR cameras so may see some videos around them in the future, thanks for stopping by 🤝📸
It wasn’t considered too small back then 😂 still took great pics. Don’t get too hung up on sensor size and megapixels. They are only part of the story.
Hey I commented on your previous post on the Sony Cybershot DSC-P120.. as I’ve recently rediscovered it I can’t seem to turn it on, do you use a charger for it or do you just charge the battery and that powers the camera? Also how do you download the photos onto an electronic device? Thanks!
