People don’t understand that the Impi was the standard operating procedure for most of Africa. The men fought, the women looked after the households, and the children looked after the livestock. As the men were only warriors their numbers were less than those of the women so they had two or more wives. This went on for many hundreds of years creating a race of men who were fearless ,doughty warriors,as we see in the number of successful Black Boxers. The downside is that they are genetically keyed to be more aggressive and to treat women as chattels, something we in the West refuse to accept despite the evidence which is overwhelming.
