Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. As I’ve noticed you’ve typed in one of your replies, most this is available in the manual. I’m one of those people that doesn’t read the whole manual. This is the first DAW I have been able to understand enough to use.
I knew the rest, but that snap pattern to grid on the sequencer just opened up new possibilities, thanks. I just wish there was a way to reduce the size of a note from the left as you could from d right. Sometimes I want my verses to come in with a pause before the beat drops
I know how you feel. It sucks to have to do everything within the machines sequencer if you want to change the beginning of the pattern. It would be cool to have a splitter tool like every other DAW in the world has so you can get rid of little chunks of the audio you dont want. The Snap-to-grid option really helps but its still limited.
So I checked out that song and geez, at first it sounded like my little niece got ahold of my controller and just started smashing buttons but then you start finding the beauty in it. It seems like the artist switched back to a 4/4 in the middle then went back to the 7/4 at the end.
I talked to mike, the developer of Caustic Guide and he never released it for windows and hes probably not going to, so that's why I'm not covering anything on it. I dont really use my phone.
Love it, i knew all those things, but i like the way u explain it... If you know how to edit the tempo in an expecific part of a song i think you should explain it, it is an easy but usefull tool that some caustic 3 users may want to know
To someone with musical experience, most this stuff is pretty obvious and the rest you can figure out by reading the manual but most don't take the time. Those tempo markers can be very helpful, especially if you want to bounce from full to half-time OR even to make a song unique. It has helped me a lot with tutorials that cover more than 1 genre. I used this feature a lot when I made my "Drum patterns you should know" tutorial cause i used 5 different genres and they were all different BPM's, yet I could still put them all on the main song sequencer right next to eachother (one right after the other). I'm glad you like it! I appreciate the input, I'm always looking for more stuff to cover.
You cannot automate the shuffle but you can turn quantization off and shuffle the notes yourself. Hit the grid button on any sequencer and the quantization on/off will be on the right side.
Press the "grid" button in any of the machines sequencer (or piano roll) and some options will pop up. Its located on the top next to the size and note buttons. Once you hit it, some options will pop up. On the right you can select different notes you want your sequencer to show,, 32nd/64th etc. But on the left you will see a 2×, 4× and 8× button. This will stretch your sequencer to the shown measure (8 measures is the max). Say you wanted a 4 bar measure but then decided you wanted to shrink it back down to 2 measures, long press the 2× and it will ask if you want to shrink pattern to 2 measures. Hope this helped.
Hi, would you happen to know (or anyone else for that matter😊) if and how it is possible to use shuffle for just one machine? Or maybe even just for one pattern (automation maybe?)?
You can set a different shuffle amount to any pattern you want. Go to the machines patterns and long press 1 (or whatever number you want) This will take you to a sub menu where you can activate "shuffle override" and set it to anything you want. You can do this to every pattern if you want and set different shuffle settings for each one.
I'm running out of ideas for tutorials. I've made over 40 so far and it's hard to keep coming up with stuff other than feature how I make my music. Let me know if you want something specific and I could probably help you out.
@@Bluegofuccincrazy When in song mode, click the button where the bars are numbered and drag right. Let's say you want bars 6-8 looped, click right where it says 6 and drag to 8, then 2 markers will be present showing those bars are looped. To unloop, click the 8 and drag right. If you click and hold too long, a option will pop up asking if you want to insert measures or set key tempo, so you have to click and drag fairly quickly. Hope this helps! *edit, also, the play marker (the black line that follows your song to indicate what part of the song is playing) needs to be withing the looped area for the loop to work. So if you click on the 3rd bar, 6-8 wont loop until the marker reaches the 6th bar. You'll get the hang of it.
@@Bluegofuccincrazy yes, it will make the region of the song loop that you have selected. It's really simple, If you are using a phone, go to your song sequencer, make sure you are in song mode and simply touch what bar you want to loop and drag right (on the bottom of the sequencer where the bars are numbered). If you are on a computer, click and drag right. To unloop, click and drag left at the end bar that is highlighted.

As far as I know, you can only open FST files in FL Studio. Not in Caustic. I could be wrong but I tried it myself and they didn't work.
