My modern map was accurate but i deleted it
i got an modern map its based on economy and millitary strengh maybe you can test it?
all the modern maps were trash especially UK's color.

I used to have a modern map that people would say was the best they’d ever played. I gave it new colors, accurate borders, little extras here and there like Donetsk, or the Islamic State even, lots of new flag ids, accurate alliances and wars, and a bunch of territories that could be liberated. Accidentally deleted it last year after making a Napoleonic Wars map. Sad moment.
I hope a miracle happens and u somehow get it back

As someone who has made a modern map, I tried making NATO but it made the game harder so I just removed it since any country that’s a part of nato you declare war on, the entire alliance declares war on you. Another thing is I try to research most countries and would take me hours. It leads to mistakes like Kazakhstan getting russian land. But overall this video is accurate.
It will actually make it realistic since if you attack nato member all other members attack you

Modern maps can be could, just to many people don’t really try to make them. If you join the right server you can have a really cool modern map
I remember when making a video there was this modern map and it was basically just 1936 and they gave countries random borders and I accidentally picked host nation lol

i have a modern map too, it's not like other non-effort maps, there is countries that people mostly forget about, like lesotho and east timor. also i have some flags for countries with bugged ones, like german empire, mauritania
honestly i'd say they're quite boring. i used to have a modern map to play with some friends but it's long gone now. some people actually put in effort in making modern maps with more events and stuff. though i see that a lot of russia, usa and china players always conquering pretty much everything lol, but they're cool if they were made with actual effort. and i have no problem with people having fun with modern maps, they can have their own fun too but just saying my opinion.
I have a modern with capitals. I've checked everything and I have flags for EVERYTHING in there (yes, even Vanuatu and timor leste with guam) all other islands in oceania are not owned by anyone and that includes Carribean islands. All other islands I didn't mention is just flag less. I made Puerto Rico independent,but a state.And yes Sri Lanka exists there.

For some reason, the first map i trId To Make is when ameica was fighting the confederacy, but i was very lazy and Scrapped it for d-phonk
does kinda make sense for serbia to have a city though. its not like they don’t have any and they’re not a 3rd world country

I believe one of the reasons why Modern maps are so hated in the ia community is that 1. Its very low effort. Modern maps take very low effort to make. Its why so many people create it. 2. Overused an unoriginal. Its a very overrused map that everyone plays. Its also unorginal as per my reasons earlier

I don't mind them, sure I think they're no where near unique but I don't think people need to get harassed over it
I did a modern map recently were i tried making it the most accurate on ideologies and flags and i put several independence places (exemple: Spain can liberate catalonia; Russia can liberate Chechnya, Siberia,Sakha,etc; Uk can liberate Wales and northern ireland. And many others)
I only nerfed some countries like uk and usa because i hate them butvi tried my best. (I was gonna do things like BRICS and NATO but it would be too op and some alliances wouldn't make much sense)

Modern maps are usually boring, they aren't as bad as everyone says but its not creative either
People can make it creative. Most people just don’t try, and that’s why people automatically assume modern maps are boring. There was a comment saying they have made a perfect modern map, but just accidentally deleted it. I bet that map would’ve been very fun to play.
@@monkeyhuman4043 Modern maps are basicly WW2 maps but everything is released. This means most of the great powers are nerfed except for China and America and that minor ai nations can more easily stockpile troops.
I have a mixed opinion on modern maps, I really do hate or like it depending on the effort put into it and how good the map is. So a map where they just changed the borders is mediocre but a map with custom flags and that stuff is alright. It does get repetitive with like 2 modern maps EVERYTIME you join a server and that does make it have less potential for me because it’s been made by everyone at this point or smth. Overall, I don’t hate or like modern maps, It’s sort of mediocre for me. You might have a bad map you might have a likeable map but for me, all modern maps are the iron assault definition of mediocrity. (I don’t want to offend any map-maker with a good or bad modern map, this isn’t to offend, it’s about the map itself and not the person making the map, I don’t want to offend) Edit: There also aren’t any good map makers to balance it out most of the time so it’s mostly made by amateur map makers. (I’m not trying to offend any map makers)

I had literally perfect modern map. Everything perfect. I genuinly mean it, spent 24+ hours on it. Then accidently deleted it and just completely left the game

I wouldn't consider them "bad" but they are extremely overdone, bland and redundant.
There is also the lack of variety and effort to it. This makes it more difficult to differentiate all the modern maps from each other. That's why, it's hard to find a good modern map.
Some people might say that modern maps help new map makers to make better maps. I disagree with this entirely. Most of the stuff that you need for modern map are already in the default maps. If you really want to improve as a map maker, simply make maps on the WW1 period or Cold War period.
I made a 1949 cold war map but nobody came then😢 I made one in 1962 but not many people come so now I'm trying to make a modern ultra developed and precise map I hope a lot of people will come

Yeah, I literally hate modern maps since most of them have no effort (i even once joined a map where russia is soviet union but the ideology is democratic he should go to geography class)
My first map was using a tutorial of a WW1 map and I got respect for the map since I freaking learned to hate neon colors in IA (someone told my colors are too bright so I would darken the color)

I have a map where I tried to push it more realistic by even adding states that we can liberate such as Karelia, Chechenia, Bavaria, Brittany (france), Catalonia, Novorossiya/Lugansk and others with even all the states of the United States that the 'we can free I also corrected the bug flags Mauritania and Germany and others... I added single flags for certain states I put NATO ONU BRICS alliances and others I added kashmir I added also modify the name of the small states that we can free for example empire of karelia with flags and I modified some colors and I added many other small states currently the map is in beta and not entirely finished j try to make the map as realistic as possible

As someone that tried to make one time a modern map, I can say that's it's probably the hardest thing to make, also because you can't fix some borders in modern maps, so they will never have the real borders, Iron Assault is mainly made for Historical and fictional maps, so(in my opinion), modern maps are useless in iron assault, they just gave you a stroke with a modern map.
Only a few borders can’t be done on modern. Modern is actually pretty easy to make,

My map also has fiting ligth colors pit rigth so no units have same color btw 2 countrys all of this to do a social test and i also have all the flags that they werent added like afganistan flag or germanys authoritant flag etc yea i think 1 h of work worth it

Napoleonic Wars and WW2 are the best maps in my opinion. Maybe WW1 too but i do not reccomend Modern. Sure İa has good modern map creators but, usually ia has clown map creators like in this video
