  • Everything about the HH Series is designed for speed, safety and efficiency. You can tell just by looking it is not a conventional rig.
From it selferecting telescopic mast made from a single powerful hydraulic cylinder to the built-in integrated hydraulic top drive, HH rigs are designed to optimize your drilling plan from top to bottom. Automated systems, centralized control and few rig floor workers combine for a safer and more efficient drilling operation, better performance and reduced costs. The HH Series drilling processes are largely automated and centrally operated from the climate controlled driller’s cabin. Stuck pipe becomes less of an issue with features that allow automatic drilling even with preset WOBs and ROPs or top drive back reaming.
One noticeable characteristic is the rig’s self-erecting telescopic mast composed of a single hydraulic cylinder that, although shorter than most conventional rigs, is capable of handling single stands of range 3 drill pipe. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature is the rig’s vertical pipe rack delivery system. The top drive is fully integrated with the vertical pipe rack through an automated pipe handler that rotates within the system. The top drive is equipped with a torque wrench for making up drill strings and has a horizontal displacement capability for moving pipe between the center hole and mouse hole. The pipe rack consists of a number of mobile bins with the pipe handler.
installed on a vertical rotating tower in the middle. Clamps grab the drill pipe from the bins and transfer them to the mouse hole according to your preset trip plan.
The semicircular pipe rack is assembled around the rig floor and contributes to quick rig-up and rig-down. And, in addition to a smaller crew on the rig floor during drilling operations, the pipe racks can be transported fully loaded with pipe reducing pipe handing procedures. Safety on the rig floor is also enhanced by the hydraulic power tongs stored in the fixed section of the mast.
The power tongs are completely operational from the driller’s cabin drilling console and connections can be made up or broken down without any manual intervention. With smaller crews and remote controlled operations, accidents on an HH Series drill site are dramatically reduced.
Compared with rigs of equal power and capability, the HH Series creates a smaller footprint reducing environmental impact and making rigging-up a simpler task. Major rig components are permanently mounted to semi-trailers for fast rig-up or down for transportation between drill sites. The HH Series answers many demands of the E&P industry; increased productivity, fewer accidents and a reduced impact on the environment. By automating tasks on the floor and mobilizing components for efficiency, the HH Series’ unique design is the shape of things to come.

Another beautiful example of modern engineering. What happens when a sensor goes out or your "Iron roughneck" goes out? I don't see any alternatives. Not only are there no tongs there isn't a place to rig them up. It's bad enough on conventional top drive rigs with Iron roughnecks to get hands to use rig tongs that are already mounted. I apologize for being critical. But, I am a fishing tool hand. I only go to work when something goes wrong on rig. I look for points of failure in equipment and processes. By nature, training, and experience I have to think "what if this goes wrong, what then?" I've seen rigs get stuck due to not being able to rotate, work the pipe, or circulate. Most of my equipment cannot be make up using any automated torque assist. It has to made up with rig tongs.

A lot of offshore rigs are fully automated they don't have near the problems you think they have every sensor on board or on location that can go out this is the future of the oil field

@josephnelson5463 I've been on drillships, floaters and Jack ups. I've been on modern flex rigs, kelly rigs, workover on down to pole rigs and snubbing units.
As far as offshore, the larger rigs have an extensive warehouse on site with replacement parts. If they doubt have it they are never more than a helicopter flight from spare parts. Land rigs can be a day away.
But, while they're waiting for the replacement part all of these rigs have the old tried and true rig tongs to break connections and pull up into the casing. This rig doesn't have the room to rig up thay alternative. Quite often you find yourself in bad spot and need to pull pipe to keep from getting stuck. If your shut down and unable to pull up hole you risk loosing millions in bha.

How to contact you ? I need to know how to modify rpm lower than set today. I need to use the rig for normal drilling operation. Now the rig has high rpm just for coring ....

Diesel powered generators make electricity to power hydraulic pumps to run hydraulic actuated tools. It's a MONUMENTAL pile of crap. Slow. Probably leaks and leaves more hydraulic oil behind than the well it drills will produce. Just an over engineered pile of junk.

I want to see how computers do it if you work at the oil field know how important is to save money and have a dependable workers that have everything ready before its use ..that seems very good because is new and clean I wish to see how he is going to handle all the mod ..oil and weather at the comfort of his chair and the small window...I agree to improve for a better but only the people that works day after day probably know what the real needs would work the best for them ...I agree with you showing all this and you guys forgot about the B.O.P

psi x in^2 would equal the force. and then multiply that force by the radial distance (in ft) for the torque. (in units lbft)
