As a Sri Lankan Wildlife Videographer now living in Kenya, I would suggest you to visit Kumana National Park (Leopards), Horton Plains National Park ( Mountain Lascape, cold climate and Mountain Leopards) and Sinharaja Forest Reserve (Birding) , if you want to see the most beautiful sightings. But to be honest Sri Lanka is nothing like Africa.. it's a completely different experience.. 😊😊
Agreed! I would love to visit all of these places (and will!). This trip was only to check if my clients will enjoy the experience and for sure they will 😊 Thanks for the advice 🙏
This is true, but they do not release elephants back to the wild and from what I understand they also sell them on to other people. I'm not sure of how ethical their program is
@@WhereNextFamily Elephants in pinnawela are domesticated elephants and their off springs, they will never survive in the wild, hence they have to be taken cared of for life
Very fair price! Nice adventure always great to see wildlife, especially in different countries! Wise decision staying back from waters edge. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for visiting Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, if you have time please visit Wilpaththu national park the biggest park in Sri Lanka there you can witness to see Elephants, leopards, Bear, Python, Crocodile , sambr Deer, wild boar, peacock, wild buffalo etc...& may more small animals like fox and birds.. Sending love to you ❤
that never hurts by hiting using those tiny stick. they maintain wild huge anilamls without chains ,so need to keep some decipline untill return to the wild, no need to worry no animal cruelty there.
Yes, as I suspected it doesn’t hurt them, but in Kenya they have 2 very reputable and successful elephant orphanage programmes that don’t use any sticks etc. so it’s possible to do it without, but I think it requires more manpower
Welcome to Sri Lanka If I am correct Sri Lanka s elephant ophernage started in 1975 . Much before other elephant ophernage s and shelters in other countries. Including Africa. Please check and let us know. I may be wrong. But 100 % sure Sri Lanka started in 1975. Have a nice and safe journey
Thats interesting. Accordingly to online sources this particular place was started in 1995, but it's possible there is another one in the country that opened earier
I actually mis-spoke. I should have said Asian elephant. BUT the Asian elephant is split into subspecies, one of which is the Indian elephant. These ones however are Sri Lankan Elephant
totally wrong there are three sub species of Asian elephants. Sumatran ,Sri Lankan and Indian. Elephas maximus sumatrensis, Elephas maximus maximus and Elephas maximus indicus.

What camera are you using for filming?
Sony FX30 but its overkill for a vlog like this
Thats not indian elephant its Sri lankan elephant, Sri lankan elephant different from indian elephant Commonly its Asian elephant.
There're no species like Srilankan elephant or indian elephant. All are asian elephants . Their codons in DNA are the same . ❤
You are right, I mis-spoke. I meant to say Asian Elephant 🙌
@@sadeeshagunathilaka5076No. SL elephants are a sub species and unique to SL
Strange some of the guides are fluent in English. That kinda limits their appeal to a majority of the English-speaking visitors to Sri Lanka.
I think it could be one of those "get what you pay for" situations. If I had booked the safari with the camp it would have been 4 x the price 😅
There is no Indian elephant category. We can see only African Elephants live at Africa, Asian elephant live all over the Asia

Those small elephants are females male grown Asian elephants are very big
Yes agreed, but still typically smaller than an Afircan elephant
Sri Lankan safari = Asian safari
But I am not comparing all of Asia. I am comparing Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
@@WhereNextFamily i get it but Africa is a whole continent so..
Yes but I have been to many Safaris in Africa. I am therfore comparing the safari in Sri Lanka to the ones I have done in Africa 👍
@@WhereNextFamily oh okk

Sorry dont say indian elephant
Its asian elephant
You are right yes. I misspoke, although there is such a thing as an Indian elephant, it is a variation of the Asian elephant
