Ok, this was a good story but the title doesn't fit it. She never married the guy. He didn't even like her at first and she had to wish for him to stay. She got attached and fell in love with his bipolar unexplainable ways while he always saw her as just that a complicated servant who couldn't compare herself to his so call beautiful goddess that should by the way should had stay in their realism since she is so beautiful there here on earth she is just another pretty face and that was something that the main character should have slap that goddess on the face with. Seriously at the moment, I'm seeing the series for the second time, and it's just to see at what moment of the story did he fall in love with her. The title is not understandable. I mean if it was to be called the sacrifice I would understand it a bit more. But in the end, they were like one of those on-and-off relationships where he would have to come and go. If he was the king now after all why not just take her into his world and make her his queen that would be more understandable and the name of the story would make better sense.
This drama is based on comics and comics based on Mythological legend, not sure if it is a close interpretation, but I think the director was using the satire to ridicule the politicians and higher society, in this case, Mythological Gods. I think the goal was to emphasize the beauty and dignity of the Human world within the contrast of the world of Gods. “Bride of Habaek” because Yoon SoAh symbolically marries him and their portrait on canvas will never fade. Marriage is a moral expression of love in the human world. The director is using the contrast when Habaek is in the God word with pathos music and the scenery. Even the artist who is drawing great Habaek is not allowed to look at his eyes. Yet, despite Habaek’ great looks even Nabim runs away from the world of Gods, perhaps it is too boring. Habaek is falling in love with Yoon SoAh because she is giving him strength. He is saying she can’t be alone because without her he does not have any power. It is a pretty sexy reason for a man to be with someone. I think the irony is that if humans act like Habaek it is a red flag, but in this fantasy we see Habaek is willing to sacrifice his life for her, as he is blessing her with the happiness that eventually will return to him. The first time spark happened between two of them when they are running away from a hog. In my opinion Nam Joo Hyuk acting in this drama is superior. Some critics would disagree with me, and say that his acting improved in 2521. But here he pulled a very mature role at the age of 23 with consistency and focus. I wish he would stick to this director, but I don’t think it will be Habaek 2.
