This film gives the 1st HSM film a run for its money. I think that the whole 'What Time Is It?' segment is all in each student's heads or, at least, Troy's.
Trust me, Troy had nothing to be jealous of. And if he was REALLY paying attention, he'd know who Ryan ACTUALLY had his eye on. Watch the I don't dance number again, but this time with the context that they're passive aggressively flirting.
Gabriella's vocals on 11:30 sounds so different bc (I think) they actually used another singer's voice so it goes back and forth all throughout the song. This also happens on the first movie, in that one very dramatic Gabriella song, really easy to tell on the "looking from ThE oUtSiDe" line bc "the outside" part was changed with another voice, idk why they did that to Vanessa when she could sing from the start
I can't believe that after years of watching this movie I just realized the song they (wildcats) were practicing in the dance studio was Everyday...lol
FINALLY someone talking abt that fact that everyone ignores sharpay's mistakes, saying that she isnt the villan, because she is.. she is NOT a terrible person, but she made a lot of bad things, she was bad even with her own brother
Phew the way I was the character's age and perfectly understand their motives every movie was insane. Watching Senior Year in theaters MY senior year is my magnum opus haha. I maintain that Disney had such an excellent run in the early 00's because they KNEW their audiences ages and perfectly catered their shows and movies to them! So the younger kids enjoyed the clothes, music, funny storylines, whereas the older kids/teens were FEELING all the feels from the romances, to growing pains, crushes, etc. it was just such a perfect run I don't know if they can ever replicate it
The scene where Sharpay sings Humu for Troy towards the beginning is actually a deleted scene, or I guess is part of the extended version. So that’s probably why you didn’t remember it.
I was in 2nd grade when this movie came out and at the end of the year some of the girls in my class convinced our teacher to let us throw our papers when the last bell of the day went out. we had to clean it up of course and I got a terrible seat on the bus because I was like 5 minutes late lmao
naw cuz Chad and Ryan HOOKED UP, but ryan (canonically) had his eyes on Zeke with his complicated ass crush 😭 i mean…hooking up with somebody just to see if you interested in the same gender makes sense ig idk
I feel like it was hard for Troy to say "can my friends come too?" But at least when he's talking to the "professionals" and Chad brings him the burger, Troy was able to introduce them to his team, that would have been enough
The music faculty in my University streams these on campus movie nights every year and my roommate and I went to two of them last Semester, it’s the best experience when all of the people in the lecture hall sing along
I also really liked the potential of Zeke and Sharpay 😔 I get that they needed Sharpay to like Troy for this movie to happen but it really didn't need to be the same reason in the third film? She can still be the antagonist without her liking Troy be the reason 🙄
i watched so much hsm2 in my teens that got sick of it for a while lol and yes something is off with vanessa vocals in a couple of songs but i think disney did that with a lot of movies... had someone else to sing the notes they couldnt do/reach, i think in the lizzie mcguire movie theres a voice change as well
i dont normally comment. but love the reaction! though i couldn't help but be amused each time the light on your glasses made it look like you have yellow eyes
If your friends call you a bad friend because you’re being scouted for a scholarship, get new friends. Troy’s dad was right, at some point you have to put yourself first.
There's a lot of misplaced anger with them 😔 They're mad because Troy is being favored while they're being treated like shit. It's not his fault that Sharpay is pulling the strings and they clearly know that Sharpay is doing that. They did the same thing in the first film and TBH it sucks when characters keep repeatinf themselves in future films. It feels cyclical. But at least the songs always stay iconic 🤭
@@Jabberwocky415 They called him a bad friend because he was "prioritizing himself" over his friends. Unless I missed something, the things Troy actually DID do was miss some planned dates/hangouts and the one time Chad asked if he could join Troy play with the basketball bigwigs. And those definitely sucked but I feel like it was way blown over. Everything else they complained about was stuff that happened TO Troy because Sharpay favored him.
@@rainbowbarfeverywhere bailing on planned hangouts is honestly a pretty big deal, but ESPECIALLY for high schoolers. That’s not just a little thing, that was their main complaint. It was a combo of him getting special treatment, while becoming more distant from them and treating them worse. They specifically had a scene where he’s getting all kinds of food service from his friends, and just treats them like servers he doesn’t even see rather than his best friends.
@@Jabberwocky415 Ah shit, I can't believe the dining scene slipped my mind. I guess speaking as a working adult it doesn't feel as big of a thing since there's so many stuff I needed to cancel/bail with my obligations (and my friends who needed to as well), and it still being fine and pivoting. But it's different for high school students 🤔
Honestly all 3 are good shut I find myself leaning more toward hsm 3 probably due to watching high school musical the musical the series final season and it hits so hard
Like and subscribe, comment for engagement. I prefer 2 slightly over the first, but both are way better than the third. I've never full on watched the 3rd movie, I keep zoning out from boredom
Same. I have watched all three for the first time in April of this year because I have only heard of these movies thanks to the one trillon memes that I saw all over the Internet.
@@another_julia nope. more like bart johnson's (the actor for troy's dad) wife irl is blake lively's half sister so he's still a brother in law to blake.

the fact that they dubbed vanessa hudgens in the middle of her high note in 'you are the music in me' when she sings 'we belong oooh' 😭
'bet on it' took six days to film despite the entire number being troy frolicking on a golf course 😭😭😭

Agreed. Never got the Sharpay apologists! She's the villain but that's fine! She's a great villain.
When Rebecca forgot Ryan's name it was giving
"Sharpay and what's his name"
calling 2 your least favorite high school musical is honestly borderline criminal

You should watch Julie and the Phantoms! Kenny Ortega smashed it out of the park as always!!
the way i think Chad and Ryan should’ve taken over as the main couple of this movie 😭😭

Oh yeahh, it was just a little experimenting to explore they options (I like to think they did go on a couple dates when they grew up)
5:55-6:02 ryan! also their last name is evans
i don't understand why they dubbed vanessa hudgens so many times in 'you are the music in me' when she can belt and hit the high notes required
rebecca, that is the CORRECT HSM ORDER! good job girlie lol
28:09 BEAUTIFUL ✋
15:15-15:22 idk if he had to hold her up, but she couldn’t swim and was also allergic to the chlorine

Bet on It is my favorite HSM song and segment! THE CAMP in the dance moves… SLAY, TROY!!!
I prefer Zac Efron's voice too, even though Drew Seeley is technically the better vocalist
In the words of the great Mike's Mic "well yes" and then Olivia Wilde nodding gif.
3:42 ur so right 😂 like idk how people do the mental gymnastics

Awesome reaction of my favorite High School Musical movie!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
14:42-14:48 cuz it wasn’t in the original, it was in the extended version on DVD which we had
Sharpay and Zeke was always my favorite ship that was wasted!
HM2 Troy has sensory issues
hsm 2 is my fav !!!
Idk if anyone else noticed this as a kid but seeing Spencer from glc in this is so nostalgic 😂
i dont normally comment. but love the reaction! though i couldn't help but be amused each time the light on your glasses made it look like you have yellow eyes
So...how long did it take you to realize Gotta Go My Own Way sampled their music from Jesse McCartney Beautiful Soul?
I just watched this movie Saturday
omg same 😂
humuhumu is in the extended edition of the film
The altered voice of Zac Efron sounds like Buffalo Bill. 😂
The third is my favorite but this one has slowly surpassed the first as 2nd place
Yesss finally the 3rd is my fav🎉❤
3:56 THANK YOU I don’t understand
My personal ranking is HSM3 is the best, HSM2 is a very close second and HSM1 will forever be iconic but it’s my least fave.
I love the HS musical trilogy honestly the 2nd one’s my favorite cause of the Bad boy song lol he’s in all black on the golf course idk why

Hey Rebecca have you seen MatPats Film Theory on High School Musical, if you did what are your thoughts
The best HSM is Iron Claw- except there wasn’t enough WRESTLING in it
YESSS please do hairspray
Im Sorry please don’t judge me but I have Never watched High School musical
It's ok you're maybe too old or too young. If you're neither well ..... *bombastic side eye

Sharpay slayed ❤❤
20:20-20:30 same!
Sharpay is not a good person. She’s jus…that btx 😂
