All valid points! With all that, I still miss it and can’t wait to move back! When I was an Active Duty Marine I was stationed at MCAS Miramar in SD and I do know how expensive it is. Here in Virginia my 4 bed 3 bath 2200 sq ft house mortgage is my less expensive than the 2 bed 2 bath 700 sq ft apartment rent was. Still with all that, I can’t wait to move back. For anyone who hasn’t lived in SoCal PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH! It is very easy to get caught up in the “lifestyle inflation” keep your finances right, be smart and anything is doable!
Hi Issa. It’s definitely doable. One thing you’ll find in San Diego is that while the cost of living is higher, employers tend to pay higher. For example, minimum wage is $15-$16/hr depending on the size of the business. The way I started in San Diego was by buying a house and renting out all of the extra bedrooms to friends to help offset the mortgage. As my income increased, I eventually ditched the roommates and replaced them with my wife 👰♀️.
Listen to this guy.
Appreciate you 🙌
You did not scare me. You actually bought me.
Are you in San Diego already or are you considering moving here?

Public transport sucks in the entire country
No disagreement there…especially for someone coming from a city like New York where it’s the only way to get around.
