Well, I just listened to it all and enjoyed it. Mind you it’s afternoon now and not late at night so I am relatively alert. The story hangs together, is easy to follow, has twists & turns with a surprise ending. I rate the author and have read/listened to other of his works. “A Decent British Murder” is well performed and held my attention. My thanks to Old Time Radio for making it available.
This mystery story was promising in the beginning. The setting was a favorite: an old fashioned house party with the rich host proposing a mystery game to his guests...Ooo...what a great start! Sadly, it had too many characters in name only with no personalities which were difficult to remember and keep track of. Then, a poor dog was killed, which is sad and a total turn off from then on. It had a non-existent plot line which was impossible to follow when a lot of people died willy-nilly, with no rhyme or reason, in the middle of the story and it all abruptly ended with a flurry of surprise confessions and out-of- the- blue revelations from the various people who were not already killed off. It all happened so fast that I couldn't make heads or tails of anything (kind of like this run-on sentence...sorry, bad me). Maybe I am just an old lady losing my marbles. I have always loved mysteries but this was no classic. I don't even know what it was. If it was supposed to be a farce, it wasn't funny. I am ashamed to admit I kept listening until the very end which I definitely did not understand. My total confusion didn't matter. I was just happy it ended and was over. It was silly, stupid and a total waste of time. Okay. My rant is over.

That said, I won't bother to listen. Thanks.
Why did you not just stop listening and turn to another story. Because of what you said I will not attempt it at all. Thanks

I don't know why I kept listening. It was late at night. Guess I didn't want to listen to a new audiotape. 🙃
Yup😢
Great stuff. Thanks 😉
Thank you
oof. Murder to the sound of a Music box. Lovely contrast, and the loyal servant journeyed with the master after all.

Thanks again
#@SallyShockley. I agree with you. This story drags, too many people, the dog is killed and the ending leaves you wondering. WASTE OF TIME
No wonder no one would buy his stories...
