It would be cool if you had some of your successful students come on the podcast to talk about their new profession and what the process was like

We're definitely planning on getting some students onboard the podcast that have gone on to becoming professional tattoo artist in shops/ opened their own shops.

hey 101. do you have a video where you explain how you went into tatooing [ are you selfthought and what you think about bad tattooists and how to recognise them ] i would really appreciate if you would take the time to do so.

Yes, we've made a couple of videos talking about this on the channel

Best idea I could come up with is having viewer guests on one every month or two. They can talk about their experiences at the level they're currently at and it would be a good way to get engagement up. Maybe of your commenters or something of the like. I really enjoy your content and want to continue to learn from you both ☺️

I was a blank skin, and one of my old friends was learning to tattoo. So i ended up accumulating a sum of about 15 tattoos that are prqctice from him. I no longer talk to him...🙃🤣

My first tat was professional and done by my ex-girlfriend's brother for free (2+ hrs.) Actually really good tattoo. The next was a stick-and-poke I did on the inside of my wrist (a diamond as well, funny enough!) And the next three or four were by me with a machine. I didn't have your great teachings then or my lines wouldn't be so spotty on parts. Really gotta get some fake skin to practice before my next ones and use as many tips as I can. Thanks guys for a really informative and entertaining channel!

Diamond on your wrist is definitely a better option than a diamond on your face 😂

Good topics might include, importance of practicing design styles and doing them accurately. Another is the tropes of daily life as a tattoo artist, mabey a few tips in getting by in the day to day. Lastly, mabey for apprenticeship, how to expand your knowledge base and get to talking to other artist. How important it is to have broad knowledge in tattoo. Thanks guys love the vid.

Love your channel, thank you for all the helpful content! I literally decided yesterday that I am going to start learning tattooing as a hobby, it’s always interested me, especially since I have a lot of tattoo’s.
A topic suggestion would be a bit about the history of tattooing. And maybe how some of the styles came about. Even when I got tattoo’s back over 25 years ago I feel like it was still a bit taboo, especially for women in corporate jobs. I chose to have mine in areas that would stay covered and only close friends/family knew that I had massive back/side & leg tattoo.

@@Tattooing101 I’m still working my way through all your videos but I’m not sure if you have addressed what to do if a client wants a tattoo and you start it, but they can’t handle the pain! Do you leave them with a started work and what about payment? Also thoughts numbing cream? Tattoo shop etiquette in general really.
Also I would love more info on what happens to the skin, the damage, and how to tattoo for the least amount of client discomfort. One thing I used to hate is when the artist is super aggressive wiping with a dry paper towel over a really tender area like my inner thigh 🥹 it’s like sandpaper on a fresh wound. That is worse than the needles in my opinion. Thank you 🙌

The "pain & sorrow" down my arms, were from when my best friend OD'ed in my arms. Even though the rest don't "have meaning" they all represent big parts of my life... Took about a year to do the front of my legs & I've been doing a few other people(after getting BBP certified). I started my tattooing journey at 51, but I was the youngest kid(14) in high school with a pro tattoo, but that is a whole other story, hahaha... Thanks for all the help, hope all is well, take it easy.

My frist tattoo was done by some guy for a bottle of whiskey, i ended up with a skull and snake thing but after the infection cleared the green had all turned blue on the snake, kind of looked new school, ive now tattooed myself but went too deep so they are dreadfull but once im decent enough ill cover them up.

What is the opinion on bad tattoos and prices? If there is a correlation between them? (For example the entire Ariel DeJesus issue happening.)
As for other ideas for stuff I am curious about: Indemnity forms and liability; copyright and fanart; insurance for tattoo artists; the kiss of death with people getting their lover's names on them; difficult clients and negative reviews; maybe the history of pigments and materials in ink; allergies to ingredients; commonly misunderstood symbols/art; new technology in tattooing; current trends? (I'm just curious about everything!)
