Umur saya 10thn masa ni. Lenguh kaki tukar kiri kanan nak tunggu habis rancangan ni, maklum tengok kat tingkap rumah org dgn kakak, abg dan jiran. Ntah bila ingat2 sedih gak sbb kita org susah, sanggup jln kaki mlm2 dlm gelap😢😅
Saya lagi sedih bang, kg masa tu x de letrik lagi dok tumpang tengok TV kedai Cina yg guna generator. Kalau tengok TV di kedai tu mesti kena beli sesuatu apa yg mereka jual seperti asam jeruk, kuaci hitam atau tebu yg dah dikerat-kerat dlm sekaki panjang setiap satu... Tapi sungguh indah kenangan masa lalu tu... 😢
Zaman tu mmg mcm tu kan.. balik sekolah dari main road nk bejalan masuk ke kampung ke rumah jauh ke dalam entah brapa kilometer.. kalau x ujan singgah jap tgk tv kat tingkap rumah org ada tv ( eg cerita lassie ) sebelum meneruskan perjalanan balik ke rumah.. sbb org yg tinggal tepi2 main road ada la letrik dan tv

Shagul Hamid sudah bergelar Datuk dan kalau tak silap dia pernah jadi Pengarah di INTAN, tak pasti di campus mana. Dia sempat rakam 2 rekod EP, satu dengan 4 lagu Melayu, satu lagi semuanya lagu English. Semua rekodnya keluaran EMI/Parlophone. Kalau dia masih hidup lagi, mungkin sekarang dia sebaya arwah ayah saya atau pak mertua saya.
Memang time ini ramai penyanyi boleh deliver lagu2 Inggeris dengan baik. Bakat TV telah melahir ramai talent tempatan yang hebat seperti Brian Jeremiah, Salamiah Hassan, Norlaila Ayub. Shagul Hamid, Michael Tan, Sudirman antara mereka. 👍👍

Thank you, Jimmy. Whoever stupid idiot changed the English to total Malay. We should be a bilingual nation. I was 18 then and worked in the bank as a teller and rented a room in Penang. No TV. Now, living in the US for the last 43 years. Sad that English belongs to the "upper class minded" in Malaysia, now. I am sure Kelantenese is far behind in understanding the English language and pronunciation, nowadays. I do watch lots of old stuff about Malaysia, especially on the entertainment side on UA-cam. I don't care for the present singers. I love Anita Sarawak. I used to live in Las Vegas and saw her performing at the Ceasor Palace Casino and talked to her. Thank you Jimmy for bringing this back. The first singer was very talented. I am surprised that he did not win.
I was 10 years old when I saw this live on tv. Looking back now I will have to give my number one vote to either Shagul or Michael Tan though I haven’t seen the latter on UA-cam as yet. Both sang their heart out. And my understanding is that the judges were bias the fact that none of these two songs were hit in Malaysia. I am sure someone out there has the video of Michael’ performance and reluctantly holding on to it. My advice is that we don’t live forever and while we remember them it will be worth sharing it to everyone. Thank you 🙏🏽
My memory of Abdul Rahman receiving his prize money. He didn’t seem happy with it as though he felt he deserved more. That’s from my memory of some 52 years ago.
Shagul technically apt. Good command of the langguge. Perfect placement of vibrato. I notice those days singers are obsessed with vibrato. If i were the judge then, Shagul will be my champion.

Two members of the Nettos were in SIS Kulai in mid 70's. Recalled one of them (probably the youngest in the group) who aspired to be an accountant.. Sorry cant remember his name . Probably he's 66 now...
I was 'there' watching it on TV as a six year old when all these happened. Such was the quality of the talents the judges must have had a hard time picking the winner. If I recall correctly A Razak Rahman, the boy with the clarinet was the eventual champion with arwah Datuk Jamali Shadat came out second and The Nettos, third.
I was born in early 80s and from what i understand ,this is before 'Bakat TV' was rebranded into BINTANG RTM. Anyway, in the 60s,70s, 80s and 90s.. when RTM put a talent (Bakat ) show especially in live national TV. they really mean BAKAT because real talent is a serious business those days.

I still remember during this time… watching this …was in Primary school. Looking forward for this & getting ready right in front of the tv with snacks & bottle drinks😍 Those days, this was one entertainment we had on TV…lovely memory.

I was 13 but sekolah melayu saja as family tak mampu walau dapat offer ke english school. So, sering envy dgn yg bolih 'speaking' till ke ITM, mula dgn remove class. Ada blessing nya. From my own observations, d Kelantanese are very religious as ever but no extremists then as a results of 'brain wash'. Sadly, d social problems in recent times are d worse. Don't streotypelah. Most of my English lecturers at UM were Kelantanese. We are not mono lingual nation, most of us are trilinguals.

I was born in early 80s and from what i understand ,this is before 'Bakat TV' was rebranded into BINTANG RTM. Anyway, in the 60s,70s, 80s and 90s.. when RTM put a talent (Bakat ) show especially in live national TV. they really mean BAKAT because real talent is a serious business those days.

I was 13 but sekolah melayu saja as family tak mampu walau dapat offer ke english school. So, sering envy dgn yg bolih 'speaking' till ke ITM, mula dgn remove class. Ada blessing nya.
From my own observations, d Kelantanese are very religious as ever but no extremists then as a results of 'brain wash'. Sadly, d social problems in recent times are d worse. Politic by a religious group?
Ya, religion has taken over the lives of Malaysians and backward thinking, and whoever stupid idiot changed the English to total Malay. Why can't we be a bilingual nation? I was 18 then and worked in the bank as a teller and rented a room in Penang. No TV. Now, living in the US for the last 43 years. Sad that English belongs to the "upper class minded" now in Malaysia. I am sure Kelantenese is far behind in understanding the English language and pronunciation, nowadays. I do watch lots of old stuff about Malaysia, especially on the entertainment side on UA-cam. I don't care for the present singers. I love Anita Sarawak. I used to live in Vegas and saw her performing at the Ceasor Palace Casino and talked to her. Thank you Jimmy for bringing this back. The first singer was very talented. I am surprised that he did not win. Thank you Jimmy.
