    This is what drives people to study astrometry, knowing the great, and beautiful galaxies, stars, and other things can be seen just by the eye. The earth is such an amazing place, sooner or later, generations after us will never get to see the beauties of the night sky.. They will always wonder what is up there. Maybe some day we can explore the Galaxy find new discoveries and shed a tear at their site. The universe is such an amazing place. Be happy that you can learn these discoveries and wonders. Maybe one day... We will learn.

      What? Even if God and Angels existed they would not be extraterrestrial beings or 'Aliens'. Isn't the Christian belief that God 'lives' in another 'realm' or dimension known as heaven? Christians believe that God is all-powerful do they not, If so that would make God and 'his' Angels something more akin to multi/extra-dimensional beings. If 'he' was what 'he' could do in our dimension would make as God appear to be a 'higher' being capable of doing anything from our own

      I would like to see a bit more of quantum theory stuff like a super atom or a kaon. Then maybe a single sperm and a mite. More microcosm in general before you show the macrocosm wich most of us know. And then of course astronomical objects because SPACE!!! Also you could build relations between the things you show. For example how many atoms does object xy consist of.

      +Ken Kaniff Except no one knows anything about them for sure; not even if it exists (though I believe it does)... and videos like this are supposed to be based on our best knowledge not pure supposition.

    • @zyzzbrah1312
      @zyzzbrah1312 8 років тому +1

      Jason Toddman Yeah, our universe might be a cell within another being for all we know :D But it would be cool to see how someone imagines and portrays a potential multiverse, which is why I wanted the video to keep going.

    • @jasontoddman7265
      @jasontoddman7265 8 років тому +7

      +Ken Kaniff If prevailing theories are even remotely correct, such a video would go on forever. ;-)
      For instance, anything you can imagine, no matter how outrageous, would actually be reality in some other universes. Even the Marvel and DC universes could conceivably exist where the laws of physics differ from ours to allow the existence of such things as people with superhuman powers. Or Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter... even Caspar the friendly ghost might actually exist out there somewhere. Sooo... in that sense pretty much anything you see on any medium at all is a part of that video you were asking for!
      Imagine living in a Universe where the God of the Bible is real. At least for that universe. mind boggling.

    • @zyzzbrah1312
      @zyzzbrah1312 8 років тому

      Jason Toddman Yes, but shit on earth is boring. Nothing really mind boggling happening here if you exclude the messed up shit we're already used to.

    • @jasontoddman7265
      @jasontoddman7265 8 років тому

      +Ken Kaniff Could be worse... imagine living in the dark Ages or earlier. Talk about deadly dull... literally. At least here and now we get to watch imaginative videos like this one. i wish i could have seen such things when I was growing up instead of growing up with black-and-white fifteen inch TV screens with only 4-7 channels to choose from. I gre up with no cable, no internet... not even decent selection of radio stations as i lived out in the boonies and radio stations lacked the coverage they have nowadays. Hopefully things will just keep getting better in that regard.

And they are friendly so you can try to comunicate with them, just think of all the things they would know that we dont know and the things we know and they dont. Or think about the unending universe that just keeps going forever. It must stop somewhere right? But after it stops there is always something.

    • @MrBigPauly1
      @MrBigPauly1 8 років тому +16

      well actually, the bigger the black hole is the less scary it should be, cause the spagetitation gets smaller, over that tremendous black hole, if u could orbit it really close to the horizon u wouldnt feel anything, just like in the ISS. In a small blackhole, if u orbit close to the horizon ur head will feel way less gravity than ur feet and it ll tare u apart
      Just letting u know u dont need to be scared of that, cause once i went to bed knowing that there is a huge huge black hole in the middle of hte galaxy and i got scared, then i learned the gravity equation, looked at the distance and realiced that a mosquito on ur forhead has more gravity attraction than that black hole. Anyways, sleep safe :D

      some black holes are so big you can pass the event horizon and come out unscathed.

    • @hellfun1337
      @hellfun1337 8 років тому +1

      Burim Emini this isn't some kind of super gravity. if your orbit takes you through the outer layer of the sun, and you have a hypotheticly indestructable spaceship, you will still complete your orbit and come out the other side. the problem with black holes is time dilation, if you come so close as to pass the horizon, then to the bystanders it looks like you're stopping in time (you were "swallowed").
      but if the BH is significantly large, the event horizon is so far away from the singularity that the time dilation won't affect you as much, and you can pass around and even inside the event horizon in a reasonable amount of time.

    Great video. just have one minor nitpick.
    The figure for Olympus Mons refers to its height, right? But using an overhead shot of it makes it look like you are referring to its diameter (and its size comparison next to the other objects adds to this), which is something like 20 times this figure. It's entire area is equivalent to that of the state of Arizona! yet you show it looking more like its merely the size of Manhattan.
    I know getting a photographic grounds-eye view of Olympus Mons is impossible as yet, but still... maybe an artist's conception showing its lateral (and therefore true) dimensions?

    • @danielivanov439
      @danielivanov439 8 років тому +2

      Unfortunately, as you state the volcano is the size of Arizona. Walking up it, you wouldn't even be able to feel a slope. It's that big. There is no place on Mars that you could take a picture of the top from the base. It'd curve beyond the horizon. At bet you could get a decent Arial shot.

    • @jasontoddman7265
      @jasontoddman7265 8 років тому +2

      +Daniel Ivanov Quite true; that's why i suggested a graphic. I actually saw one once somewhere comparing Olympus Mons to Mount Everest. Mons was spread out across the page and was something like 5% as high as it was broad, and Everest was this tiny little nub a third Mons' height at the center. Unfortunately it was in a book ( forget what one0 and i haven't found it online. The best I could could can be found in the wikipedia for Olympus Mons.
      Anyway i know showing it's actual size from the side would be difficult, but showing the crater as if what was discussed was its diameter can be very misleading for some people, and doesn't do the actual awesome scale of Olympus Mons justice. Especially as he doesn't do this for any other object in the video as far as I recall. It just seems totally out of place here.

      @isthereanythathasnt3 8 років тому +47

      In terms of atomic radius it is the largest, in terms of molecular mass there are many more heavier elements however this does not make their radius larger than caesium.

    • @kenmaslefteyeball7085
      @kenmaslefteyeball7085 8 років тому +2

      so the atomic radius is the largest

    • @VienerSchnitzel69
      @VienerSchnitzel69 8 років тому +37

      An atom of Caesium has a relatively weak strong nuclear force but has a large amount of valence shells. This is why the atom is so large, its nucleus has a very weak grip on the valence shells. This is extremely hard to explain as it has a lot of math involved and math about calculating strong nuclear force of an atom is foreign to me.

    it's so belittling, to think that, of all the time we have spent, all the resources we have created and used, all the great structures we have built, all the massive conflicts, but it's so insignificant, WE are so insignificant in what is the universe, such an unknown vastness that we can not even HOPE to visit let ALONE understand. It's truly incredible, how small we are compared to what is out there, people think that they are entitled to certain things, that they have rights, they believe that they are the culmination of millions of years of evolution and think they are the penultimate beings, but we aren't even CLOSE to even being a BLIP on the radar of the universe, not even a tiny speck of dust, less than that. We aren't even microorganisms compared. as small as the building blocks of every thing in the universe are to us is how small we are to the rest of the universe, and that really scares people, the unknown, not knowing what the universe is, just wanting to see what is infront of them, and believing that there is some omnipotent power, some sort of "god" that created us, yet there is clearly no evidence for these claims other than what some crazed bastard from several thousand years ago wrote down in a book. hell even if something like that DID exist, they would be no more significant to the universe than a grain of some micro particle floating in a void.

    • @nosiryessir5574
      @nosiryessir5574 8 років тому

      Okay hold up. I actually took the time to read through this and I gotta say, you're going off the rails so much here. To summarize what Nukeman1993 is saying:
      That the universe is uncomprehendingly large and that to compare us to it, is to compare us to atoms. Now that is interesting. Thats the majority of what he said.
      He also mentions that the act of a god, to create the huge, vastness of space, seems odd. Like, assuming some creator exists, just seems overkill to create so much and focus on earth.
      Anyway, lets just point out that you're saying 'scientific pals'.
      Why are you wording it like that? Acting all condescending and such. You do realize everything around you, that you take for granted is most probably an achievement of scientific development?
      You seem really offended by the idea that someone would compare our existence to dust. It's just metaphorical. Now there is a bit you go off and say how apparently we will only envy and disdain how worthless someone is without taking responsibility... Okay you know what? I'm not going to go into it further because you're basically preaching.
      Tl;dr - Don't claim to know how people feel if you disgust one's curiosity for space. Especially someone like yourself, who apparently loves a creator.

    • @InTheBeginningTheUniverseWas
      @InTheBeginningTheUniverseWas 8 років тому

      You can't*. Most of the reallllly big objects are so dim, like the nebula, you can't see them with your own eyes. Those pictures are taking by telescopes focusing at one point in space for a few days to collect enough light to make an image. Sorry to ruin it for you, but those pictures are the best bet you get to seeing the beauty of space.

    • @zimrileisher
      @zimrileisher 8 років тому

      I would count seeing a picture as the same thing as seeing the real thing - even if your eyes could detect the light coming off of the nebulae and other things, it would look 2 dimensional, just like a picture, so there's no real difference.

    • @InTheBeginningTheUniverseWas
      @InTheBeginningTheUniverseWas 8 років тому +1

      Well the pictures don't always show very dim light, they also show presence of gases like oxygen and hydrogen etc.
      But the point still stands, looking at them through telescopes is as good at seeing the real thing (because it allows you to actually see it and) because the natural beauty of it hasn't been manufactured by the telescope, it formed by itself.

      Mystic Era We cannot be dealing with opinions here. If the pan is hot and we touch it, we can't blame the pain to our opinion was it was cold.
      But, I'm just worried about the people being affected by the lack of knowledge required to think about the 'God system' properly. I just think it's more dangerous to not believe in the justifiable afterlife. Leaving options open of committing some sort of suicide because work is too hard, the financial struggle is too deep, or the mental anguish from whatever reason is high is not good. According to the NDE's Hell exist. I would say if you look up that stuff do not base it upon one NDE. Look at as many NDEs as you can and find a similarity.
      I mean, some people are so scared to die or commit any offenses so it might not be related to them at all but for those that are determined w/ a head strong leadership into making negative stuff into reality, it is for them. I'm not sure who is reading but I just put it out there for some more exposed information of my findings.

      Because it is basic common sense.
      Because a mountain of evidence backs it up.
      Because a plethora of different scientific disciplines back it up.
      Because it can make verifiable predictions.
      Because a multitude of disciplines rely on it and would fail if it was false.
      Because it is one of the more solid of Scientific Theories.
      Because courts around the world rely on it.
      Because you benefit from the medical applications of it and it would be churlish not to acknowledge that.
      Because nothing has ever shown it to be false.

      Its theorized that we are only able to see 1% unless thats all

      For me, both ways are hard to imagine, how something can be infinite ? what this mean ? something has no end or begining... but how universe could end :D and what would be beyond this end ? this is as ridiculous as infinity ;)

      We have no idea how much of the universe we have explored percentage wise, supahboi 01, it could be infinite, for all we know.
