    I don't have a sewing machine, so to make a boxy tee more fitted, I'll cut right up the center of those slashes and then tie them. That will make it very easy to cinch it up a good few inches.

    Cute! That gave me a flashback! In 1983 I worked at Rockn T’s, and I was always slicing, studding, & pinning together shirts for the punks!
    Great video, loved it, except now I feel old, lol! Your shirt turned out great, loved the graphic!

      Thank you!! If you like tutorial videos, I also have one up on my channel where I show you how to turn an old guitar strap into a cool DIY rockstar belt similar to what I'm wearing in this video.

      Thank you! I certainly hope to! Sometimes my projects get too elaborate and complicated for tutorial videos, but I am hoping to find more projects that will be suitable for them soon!

      @@MadameAbsinthe Even a "Hey, this is what I did, this is how I did it." Video would be awesome too. You're very creative and some of us can learn from you. lol

      It's such an easy way to make a boxy boring tshirt more "you". I thought this would be a great video or beginners. I am so glad you enjoyed it, even though you are already well-versed in doing tshirt DIY.

    The worst are merch t-shirts. That horrible tight bulky neck and giant sleeves. Awful. I chop up nearly every one I get.
    But very cute bat shirt and love the reference to the count. My fave Sesame Street character 🥰

    I have a collection of t-shirts stashed away to modify and slice. love the one you modified. watching your vids has given me the incentive to get my stash of projects back out of the drawer and finally get them started and/or finished.

      My partner also has a long torso, so I totally get what you're saying. I am always sewing extra fabric onto the bottom of his shirts to make them longer and hide his belly. That's an entirely different form of tshirt DIY

    Save the sleeves and make gloves, or wrist bands of sorts..

  • @froxyanicotti
    @froxyanicotti 5 років тому

    Little more of a Selofan take to the doo. Refreshing compared to the cone spike up. Flare it out like Froxanne? Don't tell, you wouldn't really go full Anna Varney Cantodea? That would be intriguing for Canadian folks since they no longer have Tom Green to entertain them...

  • @TheStilettoSlut

    If you had "crinkle cut" (you know what I mean) fabric scissors instead of straight paper scissors would you cut the arms off in one go? Or still do both halves of the fabric separately?

    • @MadameAbsinthe
      @MadameAbsinthe  5 років тому +1

      I do own pinking shears (crinkle cut scissors, as you call them - I love that name!), but I definitely prefer regular fabric scissors for this task. And even if you do to use pinking shears, I would still cut the tshirt all the way around, instead of both halves at once. It gives you more precise control over the shape of the arm hole. Sometimes I like to leave the back of the arm hole wider on the shoulder and cut the front in more. It all depends on how I want the shirt to look. I hope that helps and that I explained it well enough.
