Being a CEO is uncomfortable and sometimes you might want some help, to bounce ideas off of someone on your team but who isn't paid to agree with you... for that click here: adventuretoprofit.com

I would have liked to hear 4 points in closing. Otherwise, solid info

I try to structure my time mostly like this:
40% - being available for the team (coaching, mentoring, managing, intervening)
30% - being available as ambassador towards customers and shareholders (I own 1/3rd)
20% - monitoring the effectiveness of the current strategy of the company
9% - set the long-term and mid-term objectives in line with the mission and vision
1% - evaluate the mission and vision is still stable and align the structure of the company to it
The core of my job is done in 4 hours per week, the rest is basically being there in the company. We’ve grown from 3 to 30 in under 24 months.

CEO sounds like a manager. A plan, objective, vision, can be realized by a typical manager. How do you justify huge difference in salary ? Manager vs CEO

The SEO has the bigger picture, the vision, he is responsible for the whole business, the captain of the ship. The manager is more like an executive figure, specialized in one department, someone who is working towards achieving the goals set by the SEO. The two positions have a lot in common, but the scale of the responsibility is different. If the manager makes a mistake, most likely that won't hurt the business much, but if the CEO makes a mistake, that can be fatal for the company. Plus the CEO has other important roles, like being the front face of the company, and searching for new business opportunities, etc., it's a lot more complex than just a manager.

Basically CEO is broad, manager is specialized
CEO oversees everything, manager oversees a set area/section of the business

I've been with my company 10 years. Ten...fucking years. I try to apply for my 3 weeks off, that shit isn't happening. All because it saves the company money. I dont give a shit about your mission unless its a humanitarian one.

The funny thing is, if you leave, in most cases they pay out that accumulated time anyways
