Lol, I'm realising just now that he made a cameo in A Star Is Born like a famous fashion photographer in one of the scenes. Cool move haha.
I could listen to Matthew talk about his craft forever. The honesty and inspiration that emerges is wonderful. Great video. THank you.
That is what I am saying... natural light can give you sometimes the best shots. I think to make a film with just natural or the artificial light that already comes in the house... that is an art if you can make it work.
I agree, but then I look at someone like Janus Kaminski who will bring in as much equipment as he needs to get the shot he wants. At the end of the day, if you get the shot then you’ve got it, regardless of how you got it.
Chungking Express and Black Swan are two of my favorite movies.
DP’s are lifesavers-they’re like Assistant Directors in a way.
Took me there when he started speaking on lighting. It's such a challenge for me & I haven't even begun film yet.
Awesome !!
So good!
Cool!
Absolute legend.
What a legend
What are the posters behind him? Can anyone recognize?

Audio is a little jacked huh? Clean it up! Not at this level hahaha
It's cause they're using Lav mics so when he moves it hits the mic
Mother is both great and terrible filmmaking in that it's one of the worst films I have ever seen, but is technically well made.
Why?
I think it’s way better than the critics said it was. I don’t know why it was reviewed so badly.
The opposite, I thought. Libatique's hand-held camerawork was sloppy past the point of creative intuition, and just gave everyone a big headache. It got in the way of a fascinating Biblical melodrama with fine acting performances.
Wow. You're dumb
