That passenger airbag hack is pretty ghetto. It's your car man so you can do what you want, but all I'm saying is that if you're going to do something it should be done right. It's a shame to put a ton of effort into the vehicle in other ways (time and money) to skip on such a thing. Anyways thanks for the content, its good stuff! Also, maybe putting the sensor in the backrest would still allow it to work when a passenger is in the car and not trip when you put a bag in the passenger seat?

Here's how to turn off the FJ beeping warning noise. I turned mine off for the exact same reason you mentioned. 1. Turn the ignition switch on (without starting car) 2. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until the odometer displays "ODO" 3. Turn the ignition switch off 4. Turn the ignition switch on 5. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds after turning the power switch ON) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more. 6. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the front drivers's side seat belt. 7. Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-off" (it will be "b-on") 8. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off". 9. Turn the ignition switch off. Enjoy the silence!
Having the passenger air bag sensor the way you have decided to go is stupid. Why didn't you just install it and buy a spare seatbelt clip and leave it plugged in? That way you don't get beeped at when putting your camera gear on the seat and if you have a passenger they just unplug the clip and plug in the actual seat belt. This way your interior stays clean and doesn't look a mess and you don't have to sit on the pressure pad after fishing it out from under the seat
Was going to reply with this, this is way better idea than leaving the passenger a choise to not having the airbag (safety firsts) and you can leave the the seatbelt buckle all the time and when passenger needs it just take it out and buckle the whole belt. Hope he realy changes this
Put the pressure-piece in the seat, and just put a switch in the cable so you can turn it on or off (or between that and another sensor under the seat). Done. And looks 100x better and works more reliably.

I really love your vids. But this time I really have to agree with most of the comments about your airbag hack. In my eyes this is the most amateurish solution you could possibly come up with. But you are not an amateur, are you?! Please don't mess with safety features and reconsider your decision! It doesn't even have to be your fault if you get into an accident and get someone killed. And you already lost your side airbags by removing the OEM seats... a no go on a daily driver - at least in my eyes. Airbags are there for a reason! There are a lot of examples in the comments how you can solve this problem easily. The easiest would be: Just throw your stuff on the floor instead of the passenger seat! I mean... how difficult is that?! Cheers from Switzerland
Yeah, we’ve done it before just go to a breakers yard and cut a buckle off a seat belt. Insert the metal buckle clip into passenger seat belt holder problem solved.

Seems like a shame to go through all that effort on the heated seats and then just have the passenger sit on the freaking airbag sensor pad to get it to activate... which btw would mean your passenger would have to choose between an airbag and heated seats...
Uhhh. Why didn’t you just keep the passenger seat belt fastened when unoccupied to avoid the annoying seat belt earning chime, or better yet, just keep your backpack in the trunk? Not like you should be rummaging through your bag anyways while driving. That way you can install the pressure sensor properly, as well as the heating pads?
surely just leave the passenger seat belt bucked all the time. would solve the problem and having a passenger unbuckle the belt before getting in must be easier than remembering to tell them to put the sensor from under the seat back on top
CHRIS make sure that the Sparco seats CAN be heated. The foam used may not be the same as in the stock seats, and as Sparco's are not designed to be heated it is a big unknown factor. Call them to be sure, imagine the seats caching fire on the highway..
The rings go through an embedded wire strand in the seat. Take the rings off and replace them with zips ties. I've done numerous heated seat conversions from old volvos where the seats were worthless to new seats
Man I usually love your stuff, but this is just insane, please reconsider the airbag system, surely you could just leave the seatbelt latched when no one is in the seat. Also make sure the materials in those seats are suitable to be heated. Stay safe ✌️

i think the hog rings on the sparko seats clamp to a cable or metal rod inside the foam. i did a couple acura seats that had that same thing going on. although i might be wrong. and the reason a couple of the hog rings came loose is maybe the missed the cable or rod. btw the zip tie idea looks like it will work too.

Gosh dangit Chris, I loved the beginning of this episode haha. Also, that quick explanation of the increase in ads made me so excited for the next build.
i was wondering about the rear quarter panel fix, and i'm greatly anticipating that, but i COMPLETELY understand having to WAIT or the parts to arrive! i know exactly how aggravating THAT is when you're wantin to get something done
@PitCrewTuning PCT Definitely true. However, I think that tapping into power by re-using a seat switch module from another car wouldn't add too much difficulty.
@Bisforbuild You can install a switch, inbetween the sensor notifier, to arm the sensor or to not send information, that way, when someone sits on the seat, you can turn it on, if no one is there, you can just turn it off.. its more simple and a lot more tidy. Plus itll give you ease of mind. Just an idea
Depending on the vehicle you can usually trick the car with a couple of resistors into believing there is a pressure pad, when it's just one wire that changes the resistance as pounds are added so if you have a 2 way switch on one leg having a low resistor connected do the wiring harness for the seat and a high resistor connected to the other side of a two-way switch, viola a standard passenger airbag switch.
You can't put a price on a life man. Make a video, go back and install that crucial part properly in the passenger seat. Safety First! Hopefully, that'll be the next video we see. B is for build, but in this case, S is for Safety! 😉
S is for STFU, actually. He likely couldn't find a UA-cam video solution to this problem in the 10 seconds he planned prior to shooting. Seems that's how the production schedule has been playing out.
@@M1LAD81 He obviously can't. But an easy fix to get an old seat belt. Cut of the buckle and plug it in to the receiver. Keeps the warnings off and easily unplugged in a second for the passenger belt.
Regarding the pressure sensor for the airbag, you could put it in the new seat normally, but create a quick-connect plug for the power so you can simply plug it in when there's a passenger. Could probably route it under the seat too, and then there's no need for the passenger to pull out a pad and sit on it.
I had that passenger seat pressure pad problem with my car, and i just got seat belt buckle from scrap yard and put that in. So it doesn't make that annoying beeping when i have stuff on the passenger seat.
Pretty cool work man. My $.02 for the passenger air bag, may be install it and then have a switch by the heated seat to turn it on. So it is always off and then when some one sit down they flip a switch to have a airbag.
What else are corners for? Cmon! I'm new here but 3 videos in, already know he's half-assing everything. So 'confident in his fabrication skills' for the seats, but yet, still not completed.

If you're building a housing for the heater switch I feel like you could easily add a switch for the passenger airbag sensor. Would make it super clean for minimal effort.
Need to put the heated seat toggles in the center console make it a little more appealing and styled. You could even put them in the side of the center console facing both driver and passenger with the wiring tucked to make it look really good.
Im am determined to not get behind in this build series like i have the rest of them but i promise i will go back and watch them all keep up the good work!!

Raguvian yeah i agree. Have a toggle switch if is really bugs you. Or don’t put shit ON the front seat.
Raguvian nah the heat would be felt for sure.
Heat > Airbags.
Nice job on the seats. Installing the heaters and changing the color of the interior.
You picked a really nice Ferrari for Tj Hunt
Next video: my new sparco seats caught on fire
fireclouD wife’s heated seat about caught on fire when heated seats malfunctioned
electric 6 nope they don’t get that hot it’s just warm
CHRIS make sure that the Sparco seats CAN be heated.
The foam used may not be the same as in the stock seats, and as Sparco's are not designed to be heated it is a big unknown factor. Call them to be sure, imagine the seats caching fire on the highway..
The rings go through an embedded wire strand in the seat. Take the rings off and replace them with zips ties. I've done numerous heated seat conversions from old volvos where the seats were worthless to new seats
One thing that you don't want is jenky airbag components. I wouldn't get in that thing like that.
@Melvin Frazier Yeah, real men hates to be safe in an accident... Risking your own life is one thing but risk others?
Man I usually love your stuff, but this is just insane, please reconsider the airbag system, surely you could just leave the seatbelt latched when no one is in the seat.
Also make sure the materials in those seats are suitable to be heated.
Stay safe ✌️
I'm liking every video blindly because you're moving with the projects so fast, don't mind the ads, content is entertaining and I support you being sponsored full time
I was going to say what you could of done is hooked a switch up to the passenger side seat for the air bag detection where it would recognize it was connected but when you switch it off it doesn't bug you about putting on a seat belt.
That secondary intro psyched me out for a second lollll
Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t change up.. I enjoy watching your videos over Tavarish’s because you show and don’t tell the whole time, both great content creators, I just find yours more engaging and enjoyable to watch.... plus your progression is insane. Keep at it bro!
I am so hyped for this build I sat and refreshed my page over and over again
#bisforbuild
Owen M me to for days
Damn my bad me too for days
Loving this series. Get hella excited when I get notified man. Good job man, you're work is logical, funny, and inspiring. Looking forward to seeing the body being finalised.
Don’t stress the adds your bringing us great content we don’t mind some adds if it means the content can keep rolling in if there really worried about the adds it’s not hard to skip
You inspire me with the restorations you do.
These are exactly the type of things I would love learning to do.
It would be a dream come true if I could learn from you. 💪🏼
a new meaning to passenger safety...you choose, Airbag or Heated seat....hahah
Thanks for you to do those car rebuilt project. it is so much fun to watch what you are doing and getting so much information of maintaining cars.... great work Thanks
Great channel wish you all the best
I dont mind any ads or sponsored videos u work hard bro and do alot youre a man on his grind and i cant hate on the hustle! Cant wait to see how this thing turns out 🤙🏼
Thanks for making videos I’m happy today yesterday was a bad day
i think the hog rings on the sparko seats clamp to a cable or metal rod inside the foam. i did a couple acura seats that had that same thing going on. although i might be wrong. and the reason a couple of the hog rings came loose is maybe the missed the cable or rod. btw the zip tie idea looks like it will work too.
B IS FOR BEER
I love it!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for taking me on your journey! I am learning so much!!!
Oh cheeky plan to get rid of the gf by a brocken airbag 🧐🤣
It was the perfect crime
I like my bones just like how I like my heart
*B R O C K E N* 😤😤😂😂🅱️🅱️💯💯🔥🔥🔥 #CanISayTheNWord
bad law suit if he gets hit there and it has the airbag like that the cop say why is it like that oh u didn't ur self other guy response so its not my fault then
Great job on the seat heaters. I agree with the camp that says the airbag decision was questionable. Your car, but I would have preferred to see you go another way on that.
Bruh, your garage is a disaster and you’re using a stool for a work bench! Let me come by and help you get the place straightened up. Seriously, I love organizing and I have experience setting up small shops to be able to work efficiently on larger projects like you do. You spend nearly every day there. It’s worth it to have a nice, clean work space to operate in. Love the vids! Keep up the good work!
Will you do it for free!?
This was the part of the build I was most excited for TBH. Excellent work! Looks awesome!
I saw the fender mirrors for the Z beside the fridge! You DEFEINITELY need to be adding those on soon.
Respect brother for all the work you done for this car
I’m pretty sure there’s a way to have the passenger seat airbag on all the time
Gosh dangit Chris, I loved the beginning of this episode haha. Also, that quick explanation of the increase in ads made me so excited for the next build.
If that spray adhesive contains alcohol, you gonna burn your seat
If it does, the alcohol evaporates as the adhesive dries, then it's all gone :)
i was wondering about the rear quarter panel fix, and i'm greatly anticipating that, but i COMPLETELY understand having to WAIT or the parts to arrive! i know exactly how aggravating THAT is when you're wantin to get something done
Damn, I'm shocked how easy that is! This could be a sweet mod to do on a ton of cars without heated seats!
@PitCrewTuning PCT Definitely true. However, I think that tapping into power by re-using a seat switch module from another car wouldn't add too much difficulty.
We should all push to get Chris a million subs before the new year if any youtube personality deserves it it's him lets take care of our boy!!
Shout out to Chris for getting tj that Ferrari 458
@Bisforbuild
You can install a switch, inbetween the sensor notifier, to arm the sensor or to not send information, that way, when someone sits on the seat, you can turn it on, if no one is there, you can just turn it off.. its more simple and a lot more tidy. Plus itll give you ease of mind. Just an idea
Thanks for helping tj get the Ferrari, it's gonna be sick
First ever heated sparco seats, Congrats man! Keep em coming!
Those are called hog rings for the Upholstery.
@@8point6 you can STFU.
@@M1LAD81 sick burn man, come up with that one yourself?
How hard would it be to just come up with a solution on your own? Its simple really.@@8point6
@@M1LAD81 He obviously can't. But an easy fix to get an old seat belt. Cut of the buckle and plug it in to the receiver. Keeps the warnings off and easily unplugged in a second for the passenger belt.
Seats and stuff are a lot harder than it looks. Love to see your fearless approach always. Cheers!
Take me on a ride in the 240 I live in Beaverton
Dang Chris this was satisfying AF to watch. Seeing that conversation go so smooth was epic. Keep up the good work man!
Just dangerous..hopefully no one will hit you, and your camerabag from side..Those airbags are there for a reason.
Regarding the pressure sensor for the airbag, you could put it in the new seat normally, but create a quick-connect plug for the power so you can simply plug it in when there's a passenger. Could probably route it under the seat too, and then there's no need for the passenger to pull out a pad and sit on it.
Just go and buy a pair of ring pliers your buying everything else for it
I had that passenger seat pressure pad problem with my car, and i just got seat belt buckle from scrap yard and put that in. So it doesn't make that annoying beeping when i have stuff on the passenger seat.
I would buy a fridge like this ! I don't need it but who cares ! [Throws money at the screen]
I meannnnnnn...
This guy is actually fun to watch! Other youtubers are annoying lol. Keep up the vids!!
B is for a Bajilion dollars...
hes a Bajilionair
An awesome productive video as usual! Will be checking out your older builds!
You should have washed the car before starting any work.
Pretty cool work man. My $.02 for the passenger air bag, may be install it and then have a switch by the heated seat to turn it on. So it is always off and then when some one sit down they flip a switch to have a airbag.
This car build is the biggest disaster i think i have ever seen. Some poor soul will buy this car from you some day and be screwed.
@@richpiana5919 O' lawd. I haven't seen the 240. I don't follow this guys channel.
What else are corners for? Cmon!
I'm new here but 3 videos in, already know he's half-assing everything.
So 'confident in his fabrication skills' for the seats, but yet, still not completed.
You have great content, and have some amazing builds. I know I'm not the only one that has said this but please do a garage update build. It would make great content. And I'm sure you could get some great sponsors to help out. Love the channel. Keep being you man.
That shop is so dirty and unorganized it gives me anxiety.
My gf just broke up with me, right before Christmas. I recently just bought an FJ and came across you with your FJ build. Keep up with the awesome videos man, I hope you know how much these mean to people. Cars are one of the only things that takes my mind off of life
If you're building a housing for the heater switch I feel like you could easily add a switch for the passenger airbag sensor. Would make it super clean for minimal effort.
You could wire the seat to always think the belt is on as well tho. It's just a pressure sensor, you can probably trick the ECU to do that
Need to put the heated seat toggles in the center console make it a little more appealing and styled. You could even put them in the side of the center console facing both driver and passenger with the wiring tucked to make it look really good.
Im am determined to not get behind in this build series like i have the rest of them but i promise i will go back and watch them all keep up the good work!!
Hey for you're problem with the seat dinging when it's got weight thinking there is a passenger they have things that looks like the piece that plus in the seat belt buckle and keeps it from dinging
@B is for Build those weird rings are hog rings and hog ring plier kit is really cheap and worth if for you Chris since i know you'll rip into more seats...
