Clicking of fish is something you hear regularly around reefs. A whole host of different animals make a series of clicks .i have experienced clicks from fish, shtimp , crays and many others. In some cases you can see which fish is making noises at you eg a scalyfin gets in your face. Once i even had a gray nurse shark grunt at me vibrating the air he held in his stomach for bouyancy (a specialty of grey nurses) the whole reef is alive with noise.
actually peter the vast majority of Reef "clicking" In Australia is caused by Parrotfish, we have a huge variety of species, and we don't have shrimp here we have prawns, and they do not cause audible clicks.

We found evidence a year later that I captured video of the same shark that had healed! Good news it appears!
