Ikr I got bit once by a chihuahua. Then got chased by 2 German shepherds. I didn’t know I could move as fast as I did and jumped in my truck. After the owner realized I was there and coming around the corner she got them back into her house. When she looked at me she said all clear this lady lost any ounce of compassion and was trying to say she never saw anyone run as fast as she did while still holding the packages. I didn’t find it amusing.
I bet you're afraid of mine. A five pound toy poodle and a 7 pound same breed. They're furoscious when there's a knock or an unknown noise outside my home. But won't burst a grape in a fruit fight. But you're gonna know that they know you're out there and chances are, don't belong. 😂😂😂
One night I was just watching TV, my cat came into the room and started making sounds that I had never heard before, looking all agitated, she kept going in the back and coming out and practically screaming about something, I followed her and saw a man cutting open the screen on my window, he saw me and ran away. It just amazed me, she spent the rest of the night, walking around like she was protecting her territory.
The cat came in and out several times and by the time you bothered to investigate the intruder was STILL 'cutting the screen'. Is it made of titanium?!
One of my old dogs broke it's leash to save my life back when I was in diapers. We had to have him put down because the coyote he saved me from had mange and rabies. I do still remember him running towards me, and at the time I didn't understand what was going on, but that's all I remember from it. Hearing the story from my parents, how he lunged out of his dog house immediately into a sprint and didn't even flinch when the leash snapped off the chair leg it was tied to, then ran past me and lunged at a coyote that was stalking at the corner of the house. I wish I coulda been a fly on the wall. I owe my life to a dog I hardly remember. My older sister said I used to bug him, and when he'd growl I would say, "He's purring."
😂😂❤❤❤ right.! I gotta say tho it cracked me up when the other dog got up looked at the shepherd n was like yea nope u got this right ok ima go thata way 😂😂😂
My Rottweiler woke me up out of a dead sleep breathing in my face and shaking with excitement. Someone had gotten in silently through my front door and was stacking my entertainment center contents in the center of the living room and she knew he was there. I thought she needed to go outside so I got up and opened the bedroom door. She bolted and all I heard was screaming and crashing. By the time I made it to the front door all I saw was two legs hanging out of a moving car's window missing a shoe which she brought to me with great excitement. Dogs are the best.
One night, walking my dog, he all of a sudden stop dead in his tracks. Focused at the woods and brush straight ahead. We stood there for a few seconds, then he turned us around and practically dragged me back home. We did this walk daily and I have no idea what it was he saw or sensed that night.. just grateful he felt the need to keep me safe ❤ Edit: Adding info to some comments: I live in a "rural city" in Canada. It is fairly dark that you need to walk around with lights and reflectors. Gun laws in Canada = if you know, you know. My dog is a husky and not the guarding type of breed. He enjoys going out and about, so this particular situation made no sense to me in the moment. My area is known for coyotes and fisher cats mostly. Though there is the occasional moose or bear. Less, lately due to the expansion of infrastructure in the area. The critters like raccoons, skunks, etc. and let's include squirrels, my dog would not be running away, but running after those types of animals. I hope I clarified enough for some and I thank everyone for their beautiful and heartfelt comments ❤️ My dog is now over 14yrs old and is about to leave us. Take care of everyone and everything you hold dear! Bless you all 🥰
My parents had just moved into a new neighborhood. They'd gotten to know the next door neighbors and their dog. One evening my mom was standing in the driveway and the dog came over. As she spoke to the dog he suddenly raised his hackles and began growling. She said, "What's the matter? You know me." She then turned around to see a man standing behind her who she'd never seen before. He immediately took off.
I had the same thing happen to me. I was sitting for my son’s Aussie Shepard and wedding were doing our walk. It was dark and he stopped and kept looking and was uneasy refusing to move forward. He turned around and walked me back home. He kept looking back all the way home. Never stopped looking back to make sure we were not being followed. Till today I have no clue what triggered this reaction. I am very grateful for his instincts.
A few days ago in the middle of the night I woke up to my dog's bark and heard "oh shit" outside my open window. My dog bolted to the other end of the house and went out his doggie door. I didnt even bother getting up, the intruder was long gone. Just listened to my dog's reassuring barking outside.
I had an Akita/Shephard mix. He didn't bark unless a threat was imminent. When he barked, all the neighbors lights came on, or they would peek to see what was happening! Loved that boy!!! He WAS the neighborhood watch all by himself!
@gizmothepiefaceman3062 It was natural. He started as a puppy. When we would walk him and someone came too close, he would jump in between that person and us. From there, he would watch their movements.
I had a huge, beautiful German Shepherd growing up, Sheba, she was mine and I was hers. My Dad had a “friend” that would come over and was always whispering to me and trying to get me alone but I was afraid to tell. One day he drove up and Sheba got between my legs and began growling at him. He brushed her off and stepped closer and she jumped at him and ripped into his hand. She protected me that day and it started a convo with my Dad that needed to happen. Miss You, Sheba girl. ❤
This is because out of all breeds the GSD picks up on its owners emotions more than any other dog breed. I will never pick another breed. They are so perfect in every way.
Especially the one where he (the dog) intervened with his 2 yo master was outside playing & a rogue dog tried to attack him & the dog Peter rolled the rogue dog.
We were sitting in my sister’s living room one night and saw a shadow run by the window. It’s a fenced backyard, so nobody should be going by that window. Her Doberman and Rottweiler saw the shadow too and took off for the dog door. The next thing we heard was a man screaming. He thought he’d jump the fence but the Dobie was a jumper and brought him back down until the police got there. This guy had been going into peoples homes that night looking for drugs and money. The police were already in the neighborhood trying to find him. Loved those dogs.
We had. Doberman he was awesome . He went with me to the store up the road from us . A man came to the car and tried to open the door, he was confused and went to wrong car but my dog did not understand and he was on that door like glue . That poor man almost feel out !!! He was scared to death !! Lol !!!! I knew then that my dog would never let anything happen to me if he was with me .. He watched over my boys until the day he died at around 13yrs old ... RIP DUKE❤
@@Larrye123 Absolutely!!!! Ours was an Awesome one . Extremely loyal ,so smart , very loving and kind to family . Loved our boys , he thought he was one of them and he was !! Blessed to have had him for 13yrs !!! If you've ever had one you know all of this I'm sure ! 😊
I MISS my Maximus....in this vid I thought it was HIM he made that same sound one night when my Wife and I had just laid down to bed, but had a Mohawk in his hair from the tip of his nose to the last hair on his tail. I quietly asked him what Boy and he looked right back at the door and kind of leaned forward like pointing but also possibly to pounce. I proceeded to arm myself and while he calmed down after what seemed like an eternity was probably only a few minutes....my Wife and I had been watching TV in the dark and I think someone was probing the property but Maximus's Radar was top notch that night. He was rewarded the next day with lots of treats, play and tummy rubs
@@GypsyRoseBlanchardisaliar LOL ... Mine doesn't like fireworks which is what we heard and mine ,also, didn't like my new Cherub throw blanket. Growls at both.
I have four german shepherds all of them are well trained and one of the most dangerous thing about them is that they won't make a sound if an intruder is trying to get into my house. They will stay on attacking mode and wait until the intruder is far enough inside to be unable to run back out of the house and if he comes inside far enough he is dead. Other than that they are extremely sweet and friendly.
My mum had a GSD in her 20s. Stopped off at a service station, and on her way back to the car some lovely, top-class men started harassing her. Her dog literally broke through the window of her car and scared them off
Yes sir. About 20 years ago. I answered the door to someone who said he was out of gas and wanted to use the phone. My dog kept getting between the door and me pushing my back and rumbling which he never did. I told the man i didnt think the dog was going to let that happen. I watched that man walk back to his car and drive away...he was so not out of gas. Best pooch ever
I always loved watching our german shepherd as he was sleeping, ears never stopped moving, he knew what sounds to wake up for and what not to wake up for. He knew the sounds of every carvon the street that was supposed to be there and what ones werent supposed to be there, including friends vehicles. The deer and the rabbits knew where he "couldn't" go, and would torment him from just beyond the line of his invisible fence and every once in a while he would say screw it and tear after themfor a ways to keep them out of "his" yard lol. In the house if he heard anything outside that wasnt supposed to be there (animals) he would be up and to whatever window was closest to whatever it was and bark and growl, but if there was ever a big bang or crash outside he would jump up, stay silent and then sneak around to investigate and if you went with him he wouldn't make a noise until you told him to "go see" and that was like firing a 100 pound ball of fur and teeth out of a cannon at mach fuck to chase off or catch whatever it was that wasnt supposed to be there. He was a damn good dog. We had to put him down after he got some type of fast moving cancer last fall and was in so much pain he couldn't even sit up and pain killers didn't even seem to take the edge off for him. He was 9½, I miss him every day.
We have a Golden Retriever named Philou who's just the sweetest thing in the world. On day, later in the evening, my mom went into the garden with Philou to let him out one last time before going to bed. A suspicious man started snooping around the house. Our dog let out a quiet growl like mom had never heard before. But the man didn't hear him. The second growl was louder and the guy saw the dog, saw my mom and scramed. They truly are humanity's best friend.
I had a German Shepherd, Bear. One night in the winter, when my husband was traveling and I was alone with my baby, Bear went crazy, running through the house , barking like crazy. He finally settled down. When I went outside the next morning, there were footprints in the snow all around my house. I'll always believe he saved my life that night.
@@melissaslabodnik59Not everyone is a believer of God. Thank Mother Nature and the earth for giving us these wonderful creatures. Humans are monsters and take these poor things for granted. We need to treat them better, sometimes we don’t deserve animals… But I always love hearing about people taking good care of their pet. If you’re gonna treat it horribly, why even get it?
@@XkiR0zbabe you can’t tell people who to believe in or who to thank for these wonderful animals. We thank god for them but thank whoever YOU want to thank.
@@amandamorgan8349 that’s ironic seems how you Christian’s tell US who to thank and who to believe in, then get all pissy when we don’t believe in the same thing. Kind of hypocritical, ain’t it? 😨
Our German Shepherd would hear outsiders and would not bark or growl, but would run behind the hedges where you could not see him. You could climb the fence, go over the fence and he still would not react. However, when you came 8-10 feet inside the yard, he would charge from behind those hedges in full attack mode. No one taught him to do that. Amazing breed of dogs.
Mine came to me very late one night, I thought for a bathroom trip,so I went to let her out the back door. She went instead to front door, determined to go that way. I obliged, and she went very quickly/silently down to the driveway. A few seconds later, I heard a man yelling for help, cussing my dog, then running up the drive and road. Little Bear never even barked, just dispatched her duties with alacrity. I was so proud.
Our use to hide behind the hedges too and soon as the person walked by her she'd come out and stand behind them quiet ASF while they came to the door she'd trap them on the porch....idk how many terrified people I opened the door too and they would say I didn't even see or hear her 😂😂😂
@@heatheretherton4315 my GSD was that way too! Never barked but she would be up on all legs looks where she was hearing the noise. I also had a Scottish terrier. He had a unique yelp when people were to close to the house. Best dynamic dual.
My daughter had a plumber over to fix her toilet. I was there to let him in and clean up after. I looked up in time to stop my daughter’s cat from leaping on the plumber. He was walking stiff legged, like a dog, as he approached the unsuspecting plumber and I realized he was in protect mode.
My cat is traumatized from her previous owner and growls at/hides from everyone but vers close family. One day a plumber comes in that she's never met before and she literally lets this man pick hee up & carry her around like a stuffed animal with no care, purring!? I was highly offended. 😂 It was the first and last time she ever let a stranger do that and he was surprisingly just as shocked.. there wasn't even catnip..
@@thesunflowerfoxI’m not sure what happened to my cat before we found him (he was only 6 weeks old) but he HATES anyone who does not live in our house. He will fling himself at any stranger claws out if he senses something even a little bit off or if they move in anyway he doesn’t like, and when it comes to me, he will not let someone he doesn’t recognize be alone in a room with me. If he hears someone at the door he will growl at it and wait to attack, so he needs to be held back and put in another room. He is also a very high energy cat. He’s just 12 pounds but I know he has my back lol
My driveway used to flood during storms and I'd be outside all night to keep garage from flooding. One night i went into my sons room, raincoat hood on. Golden retriever and a corgi dam near attacked ME. From then on, i wasn't worried about my son's safety
I work a night job so I’m usually gone till 4 am. About two months ago my neighbors cars were stolen. My mom said my corgi was growling and barking a storm around the time my neighbors estimate the cars were stolen.
Mine do that sometimes, and it is a bit disconcerting. They will all gather around a spider or beetle or any creepy crawlies and one of them will eat it eventually so I can stand the stare occasionally.
My family had a German Shepherd that was on rehab after a surgery and one time We went outside on a walk so he could get his leg in shape. My dad and I nearly got attacked by one of my neighbors dog (a Rottweiler) but he jumped in front of us and barked so loud and treating to the dog that it ran away. My Dad was so impressed and worried but thankfully Beny was okay.
GSD dogs are sweetest yet the most protective souls ever♥️.. I had GSD a few years back when i was around 15 years old and one day my parents left me alone at home asked me to lock the doors untill they comeback. It was already 7pm in the evening and my dog was circling around the house compound i didn't understand why cause it was very usual , he normally used to lay on his place and keep check on everything. It was almost 8 and i was watching Tv and i heard my baby's most aggresive demonic growl ever and ran out the front door and saw him chasing a guy out the house compound. He came back after 5mins and snuggled beside me♥️, i believe he protected me that day ( I lost him a few years ago, couldn't love him more).
What’s scary is how silent he is. A scared dog would be barking and trying to get him to leave. He doesn’t want him to leave he wants to get him. Like a predator hunting prey
That dog is absolutely not scared. You know he is just excited as hell telling himself "this is the day we have been waiting for... The day we trained for. Time to earn our keep." I guarantee it would have earned its keep. That is what protective breed dogs live for.
@@TimothyGod no. I am reiterating what was said and how the dog's inner voice is super excited at the opportunity to show his gratitude for all the kindness and love he was down. That he was ready to earn his keep because that is how those dogs feel.
@@bradprice8040 gotcha, the first sentence made me think you were correcting them. Even tho the same thing was said. I've experienced once before, someone made a comment, very detailed about something that's escaping me. But the first reply was a legitimate agreeance, and then the original commenter went off on them. It was strange
I had my 175 lb English mastiff alert in the middle of the night and absolutely refuse to leave my young son’s side. Turns out there was someone outside my son’s bedroom window. My dog is now old and I can never love on him enough.
Nice guy offered to help me load something at Wal Mart. I forgot my Doberman was standing guard in the back seat. He took two steps toward me and she was coming over the back seat. She never fails.
We've got a shepherd, we live in the country. When he heard any strange noise he would go out the doggie door, quick patrol around the perimeter of the yard then clear the house. If nothing was found he would go back to his bed and lay back down. Mission accomplished, humans are safe. It was so cool watching this. Incredible breed. Extremely loving and gentle when called for and Seal Team Six when needed.
I also have. German Shepherd (x Rottweiller) and she is VERY protective. I have friends who won't visit because of how she "greets" them, hackles up and doesn't miss a move they make. I ❤it, as I am alone in the country. I wouldn't feel safe without her. EDIT: I should mention that she is NOT at all aggressive or angry in any way. Once she trusts that you aren't a threat, she will lay on your lap!
Dog sat one years ago. I had a pitbull/beagle mix. A man broke in and Pitty headed him off and chased him out the door. GS was found under the table curled up tight. Underneath her I found my 3 year old child. You could not see that baby !! I was in tears
😢🙂 oh, wow that's absolutely amazing, I mean what a truly beautiful act of bravery and endless love, bravery on the cute little but mighty Pittie side and endless love on GS side. What did we do to deserve such amazing beautiful sweet best fluffy friends/family members? ❤❤
German shepherds are amazing, as well as all other pets no matter what breed or anything! My fur baby is German shepherd and Chihuahua mixed, he has been protecting me going on 12 years now! He was my first baby, before having my 3 kids that I do now, that he also protects very well too! ❤ One night in the middle of the night, my sweet fur baby started whining, scratching at my leg and making circles in our bed while nudging me with his head.. acting like he needed more water or like he does when he needs to go outside.. which was very unusual because he never wakes me during the night for anything.. he always has loved snuggling up and sleeping next to me til the sunrise (exception of puppy stage-before he got potty trained) so I had got a weird feeling about it right away.. but I sat up and asked him if he needed to go out and potty.. and he nudge me with his head again and whimpered like I never heard before then ran to the bedroom door and started going back and forth out of it.. when we started out, instead of going towards the outside door, he took off thru our living room and whining some more and acted in a way never seen before.. turned out he had me follow him to our bathroom where my youngest baby who was age 2 at the time had woken up and was sitting in the bathroom floor playing with toilet paper rolls, shampoo and soaps that we stored in the cabinets under our sinks.. which also had cleaning supplies and all under there too! Luckily she hadn't made it that far in yet to get to any of them! It still blows my mind tho that he knew she was into something she shouldn't be and he knew just what to do, waking me and leading me to her! He forever will be a hero to me because if he had not took action that night, she could have gotten into the cleaning stuff and I could have woken that morning to find my baby dead! That was her first time getting out of bed without crying or whining for me and the first time she ever opened any door on her own. Needless to say, we invested in child safety locks for the cabinets and put up motion sensor alarms all around in case she decided to have any late night adventures on her own again!
.. Excuse me? German Shepherd crossed with a Chihuahua?! How does that even work. I've heard of a Sausage dog/ Chihuahua, but most of the pups died because they were too long to be whelped properly.
@@rosereign888 I don't think they deliberately breed them, mostly seem to be from people too stupid to realise their bitch will look for a mate when on heat. And yeah, as you say I think this person adopted.
I still remember my aunt telling me as a kid....dogs are real simple. If you love and care for them they will protect you automatically. You don't have to teach them.
@@josefgerken4002 Thank you. My first dog was a German Shepherd named Sheba. She was feisty but incredibly smart which is one of the reasons I loved her. I have a special place in my heart for German Shepherds.
@John S I want a German shepherd but I really don't want the shedding. Any other dog breed that is just as protective and brave, but also not reactive?
one time my pittie mix and i were walking around our neighborhood and a guy started talking to me. i tried to politely shut the conversation down when suddenly my boy stood between me and the dude and bared his teeth, which he never did before. i warned the guy "my dog thinks you should go now, he loves me and don't know you." i miss him every day.
My dog did that once too and I told the guy I need to move on because I wouldn’t be able to control him if he goes after you. I don’t really know what my dog would do but the guy left, as I was hoping he would. It was creepy.
My late dog would always notice me come home from friends on saturday nights. She'd sleep in my room, next to my parents room. The moment I touched the front door a warning growl like this one would start. She would give you a minute to identify yourself and otherwise start barking. I learned to quietly call her name and say "it's me" and she would be quiet instantly and go belly up when I came into the room ❤
Soo relatable and true... I had German shepherd... One day someone was trying to break into my house from the back door. I was in deep sleep, chief was sleeping beside me, he got alerted, walked out of my room, which woke me up from my sleep. I thought he's either going to pee or drink water, so i tried to fall asleep again. Within 10 seconds i hear the most terrifying, monstrous, demonic growl I've ever heard in my life. And literally 1 second after the growl i hear footsteps sprinting away from my backyard. I was literally terrified to move in my bed not because of the intruders but because of chief's growl. I didn't knew chief could do that. He was the most gentle dog ever. And another 10 seconds later chief just casually walked back into the room, snuggled next to me and went back to sleep. As I realised chief is still my good ol doggo, i calmed down a bit and got up, lit up the whole house, front yard and back yard, check house surroundings through windows, no one was their, i opened back door and sure enough i could barely make out few footsteps. I took few pics of the footsteps and reported to the cops next day. I was doing all this and meanwhile Chief was sound asleep as if he knew he overdid the scaring 😂 and no sane human being will return to the house snd i was safe to walk around the house. Chief was a straight up gangster.
Very touching indeed, your GS has your back! I've never had a dog. I fear it would demand too much of me but one day I hope to be ready for a friend like yours.
A friend lived in a suburban cul de sac with this huge mastiff mix who looked like the meanest dog ever. The owner kept his garage door open 24/7 and the car trunk popped open. The mastiff would guard the area and bark/growl at every stranger. The neighbours put up with the noise bc they never ever had issues with stolen packages or burglary. If they needed to bring someone home to visit, someone who the dog recognized would have to introduce them first lmfao. The dog would not accept treats or head pats unless it came from the owner’s family. So disciplined 💕
My daughter's apartment was broken into, we found out that her 1 1/2 year old cat attacked one of the guys that was involved. He referred to him as an attack cat, more like a dog 😆
Was raised with a GS , she knew our footsteps. My Daddy came on the front porch drunk one night, so heavy footsteps - She didn’t let him in the house !! And my Mama agreed 🤣🤣👍
I live in a house on a corner. One night I heard my dogs going OFF like big time, more than they do at squirrels or neighbors. I scolded them and brought them inside. The next morning, in my neighborhood Facebook group, I read that someone was trying to break into a car on the side street but was scared off by dogs barking. My girls were the only dogs out at the time (determined by talking to my neighbors) ...they got extra treats and a special dinner! One is a German shepherd/lab/beagle and the other is a great Pyrenees mix.
My mother had a GSD she trained herself from the time it was a puppy. Sweetest smartest girl you could ever come across! In the 1970s our family lived on a hobby farm. My father was at work when some drunk hunters came into the barn yard to hunt in the woods behind our house. They assumed no one was at home since car was gone so could trespass with no one the wiser. Found out otherwise when Sheba rocketed out from the barn followed by my mom with her rifle (pack of feral dogs in area killing barn animals). The hunters were stopped by Sheba as they were stepping out from their truck. They made the arrogant mistake of arguing with mom about whether a five foot nothing female could stop the three men from hunting in those woods and told her to go back into the house where she belonged. All she said was "Sheba play nice" and Sheba turned into a growling barking fury hellbent on tearing chunks into their hides. They got back into their truck in a hurry (minus some parts of clothing from the one closest to Sheba's teeth) and tore out of the yard. Mom called the sheriff's office and let them know what happened, a description of the truck, and what they looked like. The men were later found at the emergency room by the sheriff when he checked there after the doctor reported a biting incident and said it was suspicious. They were arrested for drunk driving, trespassing, and several other charges since they had drugs in the truck, too. Sheba managed to tear more than clothing off one of them chasing them back and the doctor became suspicious of their story when they couldn't keep it straight. Sheba had a nice reward for supper and plenty of lovings that night. Rest in peace Sheba. You were definitely one in a million! ❤
Smart loving dog. My brother in law taught my fox, terrier mix the attack code 'Skitter' you said sick um an she just looked at you , but tell her "Skitter"and she was all attack mode... till you told her down girl.
Momma used "Sheba play nice." because my father objected to Sheba being taught to attack on command. Momma felt it was necessary and did so when he wasn't around because she was alone on a ten acre farm out in the boondocks of Minnesota with no vehicle available but a tractor and two horses. Stuck in place with three kids all under the age of ten. The nearest neighbors were better than half a mile away. We were firmly versed in the use of the command ONLY when absolutely necessary. Her reasoning was no one else but us would be able to know the correct command to get Sheba to respond as needed if the situation warranted action. My siblings and I watched the action from the dining room window when she gave the command. The hunters laughed at the wrong time. Momma is no longer with us, either. It's comforting to think of her and Sheba having fun playing together in some heavenly meadow.
My mum gave a hitch hiker a lift after dark, her black GSD, Stella, was on the back seat unnoticed. The guy put his hand across to Mum, Stella just put her massive black head between the seats and made that low gentle creaking growl. He stopped the grope and got out pronto. They’re absolutely awesome and I miss Stella to this day (40 yrs on)
My young dog, a Cavalier King Charles, alerted at my feet as I sat w/ my legs across the outdoor sofa on our screen porch, my back tucked into the corner/arm rest. She had never vocalized before and she wasn’t sure how to. There were some strange barks/growls coming from her as she looked into the house. Then she moved onto my lap and got more vocal. I was afraid to look, afraid I would see someone walking down the hall, into the living room and moving toward the porch. I finally, fearfully, looked inside and was relieved that I saw no one. Then, I thought, what’s today? It was the day of the baby shower for the mother of the family’s first great-grandchild. My dog clearly observed spirit … my parents and/or grandparents … but I didn’t. I soothed my dog and then called my sister in Illinois and told her to be alert … she may have visitors during the shower later today.
Our 140lb bullmastiff has been incredible for protection. He saved our son from an attempted abduction chased after and bit the guy then ran and dragged our son indoors. He then guarded the door until police called me on speaker, and I gave him the command to allow them inside. Our son was okay. The guy was found and arrested. Our fur missle is our hero. 🐾💛🐾
@p3rf3ctvi3w that's the hardest part! I take each day now as a gift. He's the last one alive from his litter of 10. They're truly amazing family furbabies! Sorry for your loss
Wow! What was that conversation like? "Ma'am, can you ask your dog to let us inside? We've asked politely..." 😂😂 but in all seriousness, was it witnesses who reported the dogs actions? And what did the officers say? This is a great story.
I have a German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix who had a rough upbringing before I came and took her home. It took only a week for us to bond luckily. She was rough around the edges, and I had to be careful introducing her to people (still is to this day). But there was one family friend that she absolutely hated. She wouldnt go near him, and didnt like him being anywhere near me for YEARS!! Turns out he was molesting his daughters, who I went to school with at the time. Somehow, she knew, and I have never ignored her since then. She has also jumped through a window screen late at night bc someone tried to come in through my bedroom window at the back of my mom's old house. The guy was on drugs and was known for breaking in and stealing things. She messed him up, cops were loving on her and joked about recruiting her! She has the best instincts out of every dog I've ever had so far. She just senses things in people that I dont. If my dog has an issue with you, so do I, she's so loving now to majority of people. If you dint pass the vibe check...we can't have a relationship. It's Scar-Scars house, I just pay the bills. She's 6 now and she still protects me and my family. There have been so many instances that I owe this dog my life. So many people told me to give up on her throughout her life, but she only bit me once, and it was early on when she didnt trust humans. Since then, she's been the best dog to me. For anyone taking on an aggressive dog, discipline will never work. Patience, love, and treats is the key! Once you have that bond, it's the best feeling in the world. Idk what I'll do when she's gone. I may have "saved" her when I decided to take her home, but that dog was truly put in my life to save me from myself and others. She's my other half. My other dog (Austrailian Shepherd) is afraid of everything, but he's still a puppy. When she alerts, he hides under or behind me, lol
My four legged family member went into security mode every time my husband went out of town for work. He circled the house checking every door and window routinely without fail. He was only 7 pounds but his bark was better than any alarm. I heard the dog before I heard any knock at the door or the doorbell ring. He passed away a few months ago. We miss our little fuzzy guy so much. He would have been 17 last month.
17! Wow! ❤Im sorry for your loss but man how lucky 🥲 I always advise people to get dogs for security measures. The small ones always bark first and the bigger ones *usually* join if they agree there's a threat.. but the warning is ALWAYS appreciated. especially when sometimes it comes down to moments to react/be safe
I have a boxer/pit and 99% of the time she’s a silent sweet thang. The 1% cancels out that 99 out real fast! Ears up, hairs raised, a a deep low growl as she’s running around the apartment checking the windows. It’s always been because there’s commotion outside but I thank her for being alert and ready. My dog isn’t vocal but when she is I take it seriously…you never know what or why.
My mom answered the door to someone in a Comcast shirt asking to check her cable box out of the blue. Her Shepherd stood beside her leaning slightly against her leg. She felt his silent growl through her leg and decided the last thing she was going to do was put him in a room as the guy asked. The Shepherd was a gentle giant that never displayed anything but love. He never greeted visitors like that and she said that was the only time she was ever afraid of him, and she was terrified. He overtook her life long fear of bears. Not because she believed he'd have hurt her in any way, but she knew at that moment he was pure wolf ready to defend his pack, and it would have been primal. She called Comcast after she closed the door and they said unequivocally they had no one who should have been within a mile or so of her house. We lost him at 12 years old and he never hurt a single person or another animal in his life.
I suffer the pain of your loss with you... Perhaps something is wrong with my value system,..... I mourn the loss of my beloved furry Friends.. With more grief than the loss of a human..🙏🏻🇺🇸
Correction, there's nothing scarier than a friendly dog, who has never alerted or growled before suddenly stand up, alerted, hackles raised, baring her teeth and low growling at the front door, at night, and the door is unlocked. This happened once in our dog, Penny, entire 13 years of life. My daughter and I were watching a show on the couch with the lights out and our dog did that. I handed my daughter the phone and quietly told her be ready to dial 911. Went to turn the deadbolt. As soon as I got it locked, the handle turned slowly and I almost peed my pants. Our dog was still in the same state, eyes trained on the door ready to attack. I would never have guessed her capable of that, but at that moment I didn't doubt she would have hurt someone if she could have had they come through that door. She wasn't messing around. I made my daughter take the phone into her bedroom and wait there until Penny calmed down. And if she heard any loud or odd noise to dial the cops immediately and hide. I checked the back porch door too, because it didn't lock, or really stay closed on its own, we had it barricaded with a dresser and some heavy boxes since the landlord wouldn't fix it. After about 30 minutes our dog relaxed and laid down, but she kept her eyes on the door. My daughter slept with me that night, when we were able to finally go to sleep.
@Ylloh333 We lived in a low income area. The cops wouldn't have come until well after whoever it was left or unless the person was trying to forcibly enter.
Yeah I have 3 very sweet pitbulls, the other night the neighbor kid was drink and high but I didn't hear anything until all 3 of my dogs got in my bedroom window and started this low growl like this. Then theidiot shot his gun off four times right outside my window and then went nuts. I trust them with my life!
This happened with my blue heeler. She was the friendliest loving dog in the world, and would go up to everyone, even sketchy looking people, asking for pets and attention. Until one day a creepy dude started walking toward me looking like he was up to no good and she immediately locked eyes with him, growled and snarled louder then I could imagine, bared her teeth, and all the hair on her spine turned upright. The guy immediately turned on his heels and left, but I noticed he had something shiny in one hand as he walked away. Could’ve been nothing, but my gut tells me it was some type of weapon, and my dog’s reaction only confirms that in my mind.
When I was a child, I lived in the country. I would play outside all the time with my black lab Brutus, he was my best friend my brother. He watched over me outside. One day I was playing outside and 4 wild dogs were about a mile from me. Brutus was sitting down watching them. As the wild dogs got closer Brutus started to creep forward towards them. As he got closer to them he bolted and attacked all four of the dogs to keep his human baby safe. Dogs are more than a man's best friend. Dogs are family members who lay there lives down for you. I have so many stories of Brutus and other dogs protecting me from harm. Human or other animals
My two sister cats are angels. Never even hissed or growled before. They started growling and bolted to the front door and started making these CRAZY sounds!! My phone rang and it was my med delivery, except it was a new guy. I’m not going into details but he had ZERO good intentions and he was immediately fired and police report. My cats knew, and I will listen next time. ❤
You know what’s scary? When your cats can sense the danger but they can’t protect you for what might be coming. I don’t think you would have that problem with that Shepard there.
@@NineDiamontI think we underestimate cats, those nails and teeth can hurt. Also they’re a lot smaller than most dogs, but that also means they’re fast and maybe jump at you, a cat holding on to you with her paws is not a nice thing. I sleep with an open window and sometimes two cats are fighting somewhere in the neighbourhood, those screams are the scariest shit ever
Very true! And also, cats claws HURT LIKE HELL WHEN THEIR KITTENS, I swear you should have seen my goddamn legs when we had kittens running around the house! Me and my mom live out of a town, so people take that as a free door to just plop down and abandon pregnant mama’s, so me and my mom would take them in, they were good for mice patrol! 😂 but holy god, me and my mom would have scratches everywhere, mostly scratches on my moms legs but for me? Nah I was the cat whisperer which meant I had scratches everywhere! Even on some places that no-one would like! For example the chest as a female, those scratches were the worst. And also, you ever heard of Chihuahua’s? CATS ARE LIKE THE SAME SIZE SO I BET THEY COULD BEAT SOMEONE UP IF A CHIHUAHUA CAN 😂
@@NineDiamontyou ever been tore up by a cat? They can do some crazy damage And you’re likely to get an infection from them considering they potty in litter boxes A dog will take chunks outta you but a cat will still shred you, neither is good
Someone was running from the police by my house im 19 and live with my grandmother but when the guy tried to open our gate to hide my dog jumped into action and chased the man off. My grandma always talks about how my dog is our hero.
Good dog. Had mine alert one night and caught a guy climbing the fence. I told him to back off and he ignored me. Only time my girl got to use the get him command. She didnt bite at him but 85 lbs of snarling fur and teeth can be its own deterrent. He listened to her and ran away. She came prancing back to me, so proud.
@Poopsie4-sb7kd It's her job to defend. Out in the rural areas I live in, you don't have people around or quick first responder response times to help. The dog buying me time is part of the deal. But I understand your point of view.
My first dog was a police trained German Shepard and he was the best babysitter I ever had. He kept me corralled, went with me when I was allowed to roam, and when people made the mistake to threaten me or my dad or sister, he was deadly. He would alert my Dad when my dad Moms family would sneak up to the house in the middle of the night trying to remove my sister and I! None of them ever made it past the threshold!
I use to have these large sliding glass doors next to the kitchen and huge windows in each room. When my mom worked third shift, i would be awake untill she got home. One night I seen something move outside and this tall black figure was staring at me through the window while I was doing the dishes. I could not move. My neighbors goats.. Slaughtered a week later with a bloody pentagram on the barn doors. They thought it was me and my brother playing a cruel joke. Their horses would drop dead, people would get severe depression in that valley. Something wasn't right. This comment is probably the only way I remember that shit.
I live in the woods and last summer i was outside and my Maine Coon cat started growling. It sent shivers up my spine but I didn't see anything at first. I look to the left and there was a huge black bear. I tell I ever moved so fast. Thank goodness for my kitty.
And THIS…. Is why I’ve ALWAYS wanted one, and WILL get one!!!! My husband is a firefighter , works those 24 hour shifts, always checking up on me and all, but when I’m home alone, I’m going to need a second protector to make sure I am safe and feel safe!
@bowlchamps37 not true. I've grown up GS's and the ones I've had and seen stare, growl and end up hitting the holy crap outta you. Just saying. So don't say they aren't trained well. Ppl train dogs differently everywhere. Not 1 is the exact same.
Had a retired k9 GS, the sweetest dog ever, acted like he couldn’t hurt a fly, everytime someone he didn’t know was invited to the house he would act very friendly so we assumed he wasn’t much of a guard dog until I forgot my keys at home before going to high school and had to clim the backyard wall to get in. The dog saw me bolted at me while barking aggressively he stopped mid way when realized it was me and started wagging his tail. God damn that was scary and from that day I learned that you better not get into my house uninvited 😂
Once my uncle hit a back scratcher on the back of my chair and my dog FREAKED. Her pupils went WIDE, and she did this DEEP growl, it was scary but cool at the same time.
My grandmother’s Rottie wouldn’t even do an intruder the service of warning them. He’s like a big baby, but the second there is someone he doesn’t know, especially people in black hoodies, he becomes a ninja. If the light wasn’t on, you wouldn’t even know he’s there.
My friends Cat literally jumped on an intruder who broke into his Apartment and started clawing and chewing on the guys face and arms. They found the man 3 hours later at the urgent care 7 blocks up the street with a massive infection setting in on the left side of his face. They treated him and then he went to jail, the police saw the recordings from my buddys camera inside and laughed when the Cat jumped on him and did what he did. I guess the guy screamed like a 3 year old girl while doing the river dance 😂
My grandma's old Shepherd did that when I was little. A drunk college kid passed out in our yard, I was sleeping peacefully in my room, and my parents heard her growling at the window before they saw the police lights swooping in.
I had a beagle/shepherd mix. She was my life savor and alerted me when I was home alone, asleep with my baby boy, and an intruder broke into my house. She is no longer with us, but she was the fiercest protector. I miss her so much.
I had a SharPei/Shepherd mix and she was the same way…she was the best watch dog and actually alerted the neighbor to my car being broken into…we were sound asleep (I had just had a baby and exhausted) and the neighbor came over banging on the bedroom window while her husband tackled the tweaker as she was running away, but it all started with the dog’s ferocious bark they said.
My dog has never growled at a human, until she did towards this guy that moved in with my Aunt. She wouldn't let him near me or my kids either. Growling and even barking if he didn't listen. She was fierce like I'd never seen before. I knew right then that this was not a good man. He ended up being the last person to see my Aunt alive. Trust your babies. They have better judgment than we do.
I, literally, just rescued a little pitty girl & already, i know that she would protect my son & i, without question. She thought she heard something the other night, & stood between him & i & the back door, growling... i knew there was nothing out there, so i had to take her outside & reassure her... but it's super encouraging to know that she is already protective over us & our home!!❤❤
My grandma had a terrier / shepherd mix named Monza and would secure him with a chain to the wall at night to stop him going for the neighbourhood cats. One night a group of teens broke into her porch room and he ripped out the chunk of wall to go and fend off the youths and alert her.
I had a similar experience with my German Shepherd Dog. We’d moved into a 1st floor apartment. It was a closet-sized studio apartment with only one door. It faced outside - not into a building’s interior hall. My dog woke me up in the wee hours by touching her nose to my face just in time to hear someone turning the door handle. I jumped out of bed and grabbed my phone to call for help and then my dog started barking loudly. I can’t even describe how thankful I was to have a dog. I couldn’t hear anything over her barking, so whoever it was got scared off. I got new locks installed, one of them a deadbolt, by the end of day. She got bacon.
My GSD was trained to protect me after I left an abusive relationship. About 6 months after I left him he found me and broke into my house. He did not know I had a dog. He was only in my house about 10 seconds when my very good boy got a hold of him and held him down by the neck until the police got there. The ex was arrested and the very good boy got a whole T-bone steak for breakfast.
I'm glad your good boy kept you safe, and that you rewarded him for his service. I didn't have a scary experience like that, but I did have a sketchy door-to-door salesman show up at my door, and while I was talking to him, my German shepherd mix started growling. I told the dude that if my dog starts growling, there's a good reason for it, and that he needs to leave. Said German shepherd was very loving though. She helped raise two kittens, and would routinely snuggle with them. The pictures of her wrapped around a tiny kitten can thaw the coldest hearts.
I love how the other dog politely gets out the way, as if to say, "I'm gonna let the professional handle this."😂 THANK YOU FOR THE LIKES 👍 I have had German Shephards before, I know how they move, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They are the best dogs. I just see the humor in things, and this is comic gold! 🥰🤣🥰
When I was little, we lived in a bad neighborhood. One night my mom and I heard a man screaming in the back yard and our Jack Russell terrier making demonic, rabid sounding growls. We jumped to the window and saw a man (who had broken into our fenced in backyard) diving headfirst, over the fence, into a million thornbushes just to get away from our little protector (who was basically attached to his ass). RIP Bandit, you had some big ones. 🍺
Jack's are such courageous dogs. I wish they were the size of a pitbull or shepherd. my little guy is very protective over me and our home. if I'm laying down he will sit on my chest or belly and he will not let anyone near. if we are outside he will not allow any animal on the property
@@swappedoutZ71 Bandit used to patrol all night long on these little thin dog paths he made along the perimeter. I have a bunch in my yard now, only made by foxes. 🦊 Your dog sounds awesome btw, give them a hug for me.
My dog knows when someone bad is at or near the door or is coming near us outside. He just knows. Never second guess your dog. The dog people know exactly what I’m talking about, Treat your dog, and all animals, like gold.
My husband had a gsd/rottweiler mix. She was so smart, it was spooky. Very protective, to the point that she'd herd us together if we were at opposite ends of the house for too long. RIP Mabel, you were one in a million.
I had the same thing my Koco bear was so sweet but someone stole her from our backyard she was still kind of young and my mom was terrified of dogs so I had to take her outside while I was at school if my dad or sisters wouldnt be home to do it. I cried for months and to this day I miss her
My rottie did this, and his whole demeanor would change. The whole energy in the room would change. Creepiest damn thing, but I always listened. He understood the assignment. ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Aye, that deep rumble and lowering the head whilst hunkering closer to the ground is a scary thing to see your dog do. Scary because it means they are ready to put their bite to work rather than their bark ... and they don't generally do that for no reason.
I had a border collie, which y’all know is a very, very smart breed. My daughter was dating someone that I did not like and when he came over one day, he bent down to pet Chloe, and she backed away from him and started growling the hair, and the back of her neck was standing straight up and she stood right in front of my daughter. When he left, I looked at my daughter and said you pay attention to what Chloe just did. Dogs know when someone is inherently bad. Luckily, she found out before she was hurt or anything. Chloe passed away at 15 years old. I miss her every day. She has been gone for seven yearsand I still get tears in my eyes for missing her. I can’t even get a new dog because I loved her so
Chloe was a great doggy. I’ve had to put 2 down so far in my life and currently have a third dog. As you know, they’re great companions and protectors❤ never say never
I still miss my last Rottweiler. But I did get another dog, only one month after her transcendence. It felt like I was betraying her, but do you think they'd want us to not have a guardian? I believed that if she couldn't be with me, and she had the ability to make the decision, she would've definitely wanted me to have another dog. ❤
I understand the great loss. There are so many good dogs in need of a good home. I hope you can at least think about sharing your great capacity for love with another animal who needs it. Hoping the right one comes into your life!
@MelissaDvorak I hope the same for this loving person. These dogs NEED people like us & we have enough love for them. I know the pain of getting another, after losing one you love so dearly, but our Beloved dogs wouldn't "want" us to be without a companion/ guardian. Don't be afraid of the pain of loss... it is a thing that comes with life & love. It's part of it. I live with the belief that I will be reunited with all my pets who have transcended.
currently going through something similar, its been 3 years since my lady lost her dog daisy (teacup terrier). i'll spare you the details but we found ourselves at a rescue last week and adopting our new dog (irish wolfhound mix) that was surrended by their owners that said the dog was aggressive, bit their other dog, and suggested they euthanize her. which after a proper examination from a private vet it was all a bunch of bull shit. those scum bags abused and neglected this poor pup (6months). my girl never thought she could have another dog. everyday I see her falling in love with this rescue. it's amazing and fulfilling to watch and be apart of. I suggest if there's any part of you saying yes, listen to it. we don't regret it at all.
Cats too are very protective. Especially if they're not declawed. And those teeth.... 😉 And by the way, I'm enjoying this growl. I wouldn't want him in my face. LOL
My friends German Shepherd attacked a man breaking into their house. The dog shredded the mans arm and the whole time never left the yard even when the man ran away. That guy was lucky to get away because the reason he was so shredded up was because he was being dragged to the back yard repeatedly as he tried to escape.
I had a GSD when I was in my late 20s. I woke up to a broken window and a man screaming while the dog has his junk in a firm bite. I always believe "the growl".
I had a Siamese cat.. we lived in the woods, and there was the gas people checking the meter and my cat wouldn’t quit until I went and checked them out! These cat stories are true cats are amazing . If you think a cat can’t do some damage I picked up my sister Siamese when I was a kid and it called my face to pieces cause the dog was chasing it..
My best friend had a German Shepherd named Nala. She was the sweetest dog on the planet until there was a threat against anyone friend or family. I always felt safe with her around.
As an Amazon delivery driver I can for a fact say there’s nothing scarier than ur dogs waiting for us
😅😅 God bless you guys.🙏
Thank you for all you encounter on the daily❤ and still keep going.
😅😅

We did this walk daily and I have no idea what it was he saw or sensed that night.. just grateful he felt the need to keep me safe ❤
Edit: Adding info to some comments:
I live in a "rural city" in Canada.
I hope I clarified enough for some and I thank everyone for their beautiful and heartfelt comments ❤️
My dog is now over 14yrs old and is about to leave us.
Aww what a good boy 🥹 glad you’re both safe!
I’m glad she listened to the dog
Dogs can sense Evil spirits so fast alarming you run home be safe ❤❤❤❤
I had the same thing happen to me. I was sitting for my son’s Aussie Shepard and wedding were doing our walk. It was dark and he stopped and kept looking and was uneasy refusing to move forward. He turned around and walked me back home. He kept looking back all the way home. Never stopped looking back to make sure we were not being followed. Till today I have no clue what triggered this reaction. I am very grateful for his instincts.
Once my dog pulled me off the sidewalk, INTO THE STREET, to get away from a guy. She was a pure black shepherd, beautiful, sweet and loyal.
I miss my all black GSD!! Such an amazing, loyal, and protective dog! 😊
A few days ago in the middle of the night I woke up to my dog's bark and heard "oh shit" outside my open window. My dog bolted to the other end of the house and went out his doggie door. I didnt even bother getting up, the intruder was long gone. Just listened to my dog's reassuring barking outside.
And u locked your window hopefully!
But how SMART in a cognitive way for him to associate his dog door and getting TO the intruder. It's astounding and fabulous at the same time.❤

They love unconditionally, but quick to protect if needed. ❤

How do you train them to do that?
yes, the silent but deadly type lol
I love that about GSD's, you may get in walking, but you not getting out unless it's on a stretcher.
They can sense bad intent, always trust your dogs
Wow. What a wonderful dog you had.
Dogs are THE BEST!!!!
Thank the Good Lord who knew that day was coming to have sent you such a perfect answer to that knock ... Hero
Oh how scary! Thank goodness out dogs are quicker and smarter than we are. He assessed that situation so fast and said “nope, not doing it”!!
I like how the second dog politely moved himself out of the way.
I peeped that too! Like, this ain’t got nothing to do with me…..😂😂😂😂
I was waiting on this comment 😆 🤣 😂 he said no need for me to be here lol
Other Dog: You got it? You got it. I ain't even need to ask.
Bro knew that he should get tf outta the way
Look he had to go get his bone to protect it too😊😂
I always loved watching our german shepherd as he was sleeping, ears never stopped moving, he knew what sounds to wake up for and what not to wake up for.
Amen! and thanks be to God who gives us these wonderful animals for times such as these and comfort, fun, hilarity, the list goes on and on

😍😍😍
Our use to hide behind the hedges too and soon as the person walked by her she'd come out and stand behind them quiet ASF while they came to the door she'd trap them on the porch....idk how many terrified people I opened the door too and they would say I didn't even see or hear her 😂😂😂
Yes they are so smart
Omg the corgi
I work a night job so I’m usually gone till 4 am. About two months ago my neighbors cars were stolen. My mom said my corgi was growling and barking a storm around the time my neighbors estimate the cars were stolen.

You know what' else is scary? When you walk into a room late at night and your cat is frozen staring at something that you don't see.

Mine do that sometimes, and it is a bit disconcerting. They will all gather around a spider or beetle or any creepy crawlies and one of them will eat it eventually so I can stand the stare occasionally.
He's so smart! No loud barking, he goes quiet. That's not a dog you want to mess with.❤❤❤ Good dog!
Right.. And I love that look he gives like stfu when she other dog makes noise lol
Unless a dog is stalking prey -- if the goal is that they get an intruder to go away -- they _should_ bark.
They don’t bark when they are going to attack. He got quite when it sounded like something was dropped.

I thought the same thing
That dog is absolutely not scared. You know he is just excited as hell telling himself "this is the day we have been waiting for... The day we trained for. Time to earn our keep." I guarantee it would have earned its keep. That is what protective breed dogs live for.

Dog sat one years ago. I had a pitbull/beagle mix. A man broke in and Pitty headed him off and chased him out the door. GS was found under the table curled up tight. Underneath her I found my 3 year old child. You could not see that baby !! I was in tears
Omg 😭 that's incredible. Dogs are too special.
wow
Ohh this one has me choked up !! What great dogs! ❤
😢🙂 oh, wow that's absolutely amazing, I mean what a truly beautiful act of bravery and endless love, bravery on the cute little but mighty Pittie side and endless love on GS side. What did we do to deserve such amazing beautiful sweet best fluffy friends/family members? ❤❤
Many humans do not deserve the gift that is a dog companion!!! Your post made me tear up!!! Absolutely amazing!!!
German shepherds are amazing, as well as all other pets no matter what breed or anything! My fur baby is German shepherd and Chihuahua mixed, he has been protecting me going on 12 years now! He was my first baby, before having my 3 kids that I do now, that he also protects very well too! ❤
One night in the middle of the night, my sweet fur baby started whining, scratching at my leg and making circles in our bed while nudging me with his head.. acting like he needed more water or like he does when he needs to go outside.. which was very unusual because he never wakes me during the night for anything.. he always has loved snuggling up and sleeping next to me til the sunrise (exception of puppy stage-before he got potty trained) so I had got a weird feeling about it right away.. but I sat up and asked him if he needed to go out and potty.. and he nudge me with his head again and whimpered like I never heard before then ran to the bedroom door and started going back and forth out of it.. when we started out, instead of going towards the outside door, he took off thru our living room and whining some more and acted in a way never seen before.. turned out he had me follow him to our bathroom where my youngest baby who was age 2 at the time had woken up and was sitting in the bathroom floor playing with toilet paper rolls, shampoo and soaps that we stored in the cabinets under our sinks.. which also had cleaning supplies and all under there too!

Hearing an intruder without a German Shepherd is scarier
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
💯 truth!
That's why I've got 2 😂😂
Been there. I was attacked in my own home at 3:30am by an intruder. It’s terrifying and you never get over it.
Wow, you are so lucky having such a wonderful dog! ❤❤
The description of that growl actually sent shivers down my spine. Chief is literally a gentle giant 😅
Chief is a rly cool name for a dog

I had four of them growing up. Amazing animals and breed. Miss everyone of them dearly.

Nothing scarier than your dog suddenly getting alert and growling late at night while you’re home alone
😊😊😊
Sheba play nice ... now that's a que!!
Love that story!! Sheba play nice is probably one of the best things I've heard someone say for their dog to attack. I would love to meet your momma

17! Wow! ❤Im sorry for your loss but man how lucky 🥲

It's scarier in the Appalachian mountains, when you know it isn't a person they're growling at 💀
I have a boxer/pit and 99% of the time she’s a silent sweet thang.
Wow that's a scary story glad the person didn't do anything. Shepard's are great dogs. Hugs.
Truly, your Mom's shepherd was her devoted guardian.
She needed to fear the man not the dog

@Ylloh333
We lived in a low income area. The cops wouldn't have come until well after whoever it was left or unless the person was trying to forcibly enter.
@@notadumbblond3 so sorry to hear that. So true.😢 Police runs faster in rich neighbourhoods. True everywhere.
Wow....
I have a Shepherd that's not trained for protection and this is exactly what he does. He's always ready to protect.
That black dog said “Lemme move my ass out the way cause big willie bout to act tf up!” 😆🤣
LMAO
Even dropped the toy/bone he had picked up 😂
I think it was the black one's turn to get the owner while the other one kept guard. :)

CATS ARE LIKE THE SAME SIZE SO I BET THEY COULD BEAT SOMEONE UP IF A CHIHUAHUA CAN 😂
@@NineDiamont do NOT underestimate the damage a cat can do to you lol
@@NineDiamontyou ever been tore up by a cat? They can do some crazy damage
And you’re likely to get an infection from them considering they potty in litter boxes

My 32 LBS corgi: 🤪 “play time”
Someone was running from the police by my house im 19 and live with my grandmother but when the guy tried to open our gate to hide my dog jumped into action and chased the man off.
Would not have endangered my dog, he could have had a weapon
@@Poopsie4-sb7kdfair, but then his family would’ve had a funeral.
Awesome
There is nothing scarier than having a glass door to the back yard when it's dark outside
lol true. I could never. I will never have a glass door like that. I would not even dare to walk into that space at night dayum…
Always hated having that!!! Yet loved it for the day time lol
What cursed valley did you come from?@@user-pt8mz6gx3u
@user-pt8mz6gx3u what was the tall dark figure?
I live in the woods and last summer i was outside and my Maine Coon cat started growling. It sent shivers up my spine but I didn't see anything at first. I look to the left and there was a huge black bear. I tell I ever moved so fast. Thank goodness for my kitty.
And THIS…. Is why I’ve ALWAYS wanted one, and WILL get one!!!! My husband is a firefighter , works those 24 hour shifts, always checking up on me and all, but when I’m home alone, I’m going to need a second protector to make sure I am safe and feel safe!
I love how he doesn't bark and just growl. Doesn't alert the intruder that he is in there. Just sits back and patiently waits for them to enter lol
My two GSD'S are numbnuts and bark at everything.. and I do mean everything 😂😫🤐
He is listening. That is why he is not barking. Awesome dog.
@@patriciaecampbell372 That´s how it´s supposed to be. A dog waiting for an intruder is not well trained. Cause gun (or even knife) > dog.
@bowlchamps37 not true. I've grown up GS's and the ones I've had and seen stare, growl and end up hitting the holy crap outta you. Just saying. So don't say they aren't trained well. Ppl train dogs differently everywhere. Not 1 is the exact same.
Oh, they'll elevate to a teeth-baring ear-splitting bark if needed.
Some guardian breeds just...attack, no warning. The mastiffs for example...
😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤
Cats are ruthless attackers. Never get them declawed.
Hats off to the cat !! 😺
3 hours is enough for a massive infection to set in?

Other pup was like “Let me get my ass out the way” 😂
“I’ve seen these things escalate before”

😂😅😅 he didn't waste no time getting out of the way 😅😅
I saw that too. It was funny like, "oookay, time to go." 😂😂😂
“You deal with the threat, I’ll protect Mum.”
My grandma's old Shepherd did that when I was little. A drunk college kid passed out in our yard, I was sleeping peacefully in my room, and my parents heard her growling at the window before they saw the police lights swooping in.
I swear im not joking, this is almost the exact sound my Dachshund makes when she wants to go out
I had a beagle/shepherd mix.
What happened to the intruder?

My dog has never growled at a human, until she did towards this guy that moved in with my Aunt. She wouldn't let him near me or my kids either. Growling and even barking if he didn't listen. She was fierce like I'd never seen before. I knew right then that this was not a good man. He ended up being the last person to see my Aunt alive. Trust your babies. They have better judgment than we do.
Sorry how this story turned out.

Thanks for your warning for others.
My condolences to your family. I pray you get justice for your auntie.

She got bacon 🎉
Bacon was just as good as ribeye!!!😂

My GSD was trained to protect me after I left an abusive relationship. About 6 months after I left him he found me and broke into my house. He did not know I had a dog. He was only in my house about 10 seconds when my very good boy got a hold of him and held him down by the neck until the police got there. The ex was arrested and the very good boy got a whole T-bone steak for breakfast.
glad you're safe
I'm glad your good boy kept you safe, and that you rewarded him for his service.
I didn't have a scary experience like that, but I did have a sketchy door-to-door salesman show up at my door, and while I was talking to him, my German shepherd mix started growling. I told the dude that if my dog starts growling, there's a good reason for it, and that he needs to leave.
Said German shepherd was very loving though. She helped raise two kittens, and would routinely snuggle with them. The pictures of her wrapped around a tiny kitten can thaw the coldest hearts.
So glad you're both ok. Be very careful with your dog now because once the lowlife found out that he exists, he could do something to hurt him.
ok, that does sound like the bestest goodest boii ever, job well done! i geus he was so content with himself that he defended you and his teritory,

My cute little GSD pupper is absolutely terrifying when someone comes at the door, and I love it.
I like how everyone share how their pets protect them but meanwhile my big chunky golden retriver sleeps like a godamn log 😅
I love how the other dog
politely gets out the way, as if to say, "I'm gonna let the professional handle this."😂
THANK YOU FOR THE LIKES 👍 I have had German Shephards before, I know how they move, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They are the best dogs. I just see the humor in things, and this is comic gold! 🥰🤣🥰

I thought that too yet she came back with something dropping it like a gun, for backup!! 😂

He moved back to momma as the rearguard, protecting her while the other sought the intruder.
I thought the same thing. Nope im out let the big dog handle it
When I was little, we lived in a bad neighborhood. 🍺
Nice story
I miss my JRT too. Rest in peace Baby Girl. 😭💔
Jack's are such courageous dogs. I wish they were the size of a pitbull or shepherd. my little guy is very protective over me and our home. if I'm laying down he will sit on my chest or belly and he will not let anyone near. if we are outside he will not allow any animal on the property

I'm always amused at how a breed that can be scared of a leaf blowing by on a walk can be so brave when it's time to kick ass.
Love how the other dog gets out of the way because it knows things are about to get real.

My friends German Shepherd attacked a man breaking into their house. The dog shredded the mans arm and the whole time never left the yard even when the man ran away.
