I had an interview with the hiring manager recently but I have not gotten any response. Will it be proper to follow up with the hiring manager or the recruiter who did the first interview?

Can you make a video on how to prepare for an interview with a recruiter vs how to prepare for an interview with a hiring manager?

If the recruiter interviews me on a telephone interview, and concludes by saying I shall pass your information to the hiring manger for the next step of the interview process . What should I expect ?

Great question! I would expect to hear from the hiring manager (or recruiter again) about next steps. If you don't hear from someone within 5 business days, I would recommend reaching back out to the recruiter (or whoever you last spoke with) and see if they might have an update for you. This could prompt the person who was supposed to get back to you to actually follow up. It's possible they got busy and just need a gentle reminder from the recruiter.

Just had this happen. I'm a Drone pilot and crushed the interview and have been passed on (still waiting) for the call back!

I know this is an old video but i wanted to ask. I sent a thank you email to my interviewers (team members and hiring manager) and included the recruiter on the email because he spent time with me too before my panel interview. Naturally, I said I'm happy to answer any questions to aid in the decision making process... of course the recruiter is the one to respond on the side and asks about my educational background. He says "your degree is in a different field, any other certificatios or intent to intention to pursue?" (I've been working in the field for 12 years and graduated in 2011...and this was addressed with management in the interview and they assured me it didnt matter). Any idea why this would be? It was kind of off putting...

Great question and I’d probably feel the same way…I wonder if the recruiter asked it because it was discussed after the interview again and he wanted to provide some sort of justification as to why your educational background will help you be successful in this role or to show your intention to get additional training will set you up for success?

@LifeWorkBalance supposedly I had the job but HR denied it as I didn't have the required field for my degree.. I'm not buying it really based on other things that I've been hearing about the company...
