I'm truly sorry to hear that, 3 years ago this June my cousin lost a 2-3 year battle with cancer, he was my best friend, he passed 6 days after he turned 16. It's very hard losing family members especially if they're young, I have a very dangerous job and I've came closer to death more times than I'd like to remember but it's taught me to try to enjoy life while I can because it's short. I hope and pray you can remember as many of the good memories as possible and that in those memories, you might find more peace.

Mr. Ballen i am a teacher to nursing students and i listen to you all the time and enjoy your stories. My husband and I watch often. I want to thank you as i noticed the other day that my instruction to students seemed more excited and I realized it is from listening to you and how you tell stories in such an interesting way, I have began teaching in a more interesting way so thank you and I love your story telling.
the fact that john still had to be in prison after everyone found out that he wasnt the murderer is very sad, and he wasted his years in prison for no reason when he could have enjoyed his life outside in the world 😭
That part made me so mad! But it was awesome to hear he got married and had children and lived till 80 (which was obv rare back then), so at least he got to live a fulfilled life afterwards.

Yep, can’t believe that after the funeral,someone didn’t take Reginald’s confession to the police. On the other hand, as a poor person, they probably wouldn’t have done anything for John anyway.

So after 6 years, despite the confession of the killer, they still made him serve the entire sentence? Man, that's rough.

John was below their "station" and the Brits of that time would never soil the reputation of their own. In fact, if you watch "Are You Being Served" a British comedy from '70s to 2000s , you'll see that they still are that way. Social standing is most important to them.

I have tried listening to some of the other storytellers on here, but so far none of them are quite the caliber of mrballen, he has managed to perfect a story telling style that brings you right to the edge of your seat and looking over your shoulder and making sure all the curtains and blinds are closed…as the grandchild and daughter of some of the finest tellers of “ghost tales” in the hills and hollers of Southern West Virginia I am impressed and thrilled that he is sharing his gift with all of us…it’s rare to find someone who has the gift of telling these stories in such a way that you believe every single word they say. Yeah, sadly I know how you feel. I lost my Daddy back on 11/28/23. It was not expected. It hasn't been 5 months yet, and I guess time does heal, but damn do I miss him. I'm sure my Mom misses him like crazy. They were married 57 years, and together for almost 60. He was an awesome Dad, and I'm sure your Daddy was fantastic. What did you love most about him?
I lost my daddy nearly 8 years ago now and I still dream of him almost nightly. In fact I napped earlier today and dreamed of him making sure I had a heater so I wouldn’t be cold. (It was cold in my room and I realized when I woke up that’s why I’d dreamt that) Even in my dreams he’s still being the daddy he always was. All this to say, you have my deepest and most sincere condolences, internet friend. It is a devastating loss and I am so so so soooo sorry for your loss!

So amazed by this story. What a wonderful woman ( Emma) was that she continued to forgive John and gave him opportunities as we all stuff up in this world. And police having an assumption which resulted in tunnel vision is not unusual. I do believe in Devine intervention. And this case definitely indicates thst it exists.

I have said it before, but it is worth mentioning again. Watching Mr. Ballen tell a story is a huge part of the experience. I always try to watch the videos vs just listening. It makes the story that much better. Big fan. Super happy about your success. You have definitely found your calling.

Same here... the podcasts aren't nearly as good cause I can't see John, I also miss him hiding Lil pics for us to find in the story... idk y he stopped that... I guess he realized his storytelling was good enough in its own n that gimmick kinda distracted ppl from the story, I know I was always looking out for it.
@@therealDawnBarton I think that because he has become so huge things had to change. I am guessing he hired a bunch of production people who are running to show. And they are telling him not to do it for whatever reason. I miss his goofy side, “me and old seagull lung” and how he could never get through them without cracking up. I loved that. It showed a side of him that I am worried we won’t see any more. But hey, things change, there is nothing to be done about it. But if they make it to where we can’t see him, his flannel shirts, his scraggly beard, and ponytail, and crazy gestures, I am done.

I've been watching your content for years and upon this morning driving to work I put on the SRS and lo and behold you are on their. I never knew you were a seal. This brings tears to my eyes, you are truly amazing.
Mr Ballen just watched your interview on @TheShawnRyanShow wow so more in-depth than any others I have seen. I was so worried for you you looked so Anxious in the beginning and breathing big deep breaths at times , and to hear about your sleep struggles was so scary. You are incredible that you are so open about your life’s journey you inspire me every time I see your content. I’ve followed you for a long time watched everything, listen to you every night I don’t sleep which is so hard but hearing you helps me relax and fall asleep for a while at least.

You should give his podcasts a listen. They're all free now since he's no longer exclusive to Amazon. I've had Amazon for years but never listened to podcasts until recently. They're so much better than listening on UA-cam.

@@jessicaaragon4215 did you listen to them on the platforms or did you listen to them on those UA-cam channels that upload from Amazon? The UA-cam channels that upload absolutely don't sound good at all. The ones on Amazon that are re-uploads from this channel don't sound good either even though he says they're remastered. I think that's why they sound so bad on the UA-cam channel. I won't say the channels are stealing the content because I've been chewed out by numerous people on the non check marked channel by people who said Mr Ballen's staff run that channel as well but don't take credit because the podcast was at the time exclusive to Amazon. But anyway, the podcast only episodes sound good on Amazon. They do get all drawn out. I do enjoy his storytelling but I've noticed he fills in with way too many unnecessary details but leaves important stuff out all the time. Well, not him. Whoever does his writing. Those podcasts have long lists of employees. I always think of "his" style as a campfire made for TV dramatized version of events..sorta like Lifetime movies. I always have something playing on my tv or phone so the longer the better for me. I listen and watch a lot of content. I watch more on streaming services than I listen to platforms though. Right now I've been listening to his medical mysteries series. It's super, super good. I've actually learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know. Run, fool is great too but it's read by Rodney Barnes. He is splendid. His voice is radio/voiceover quality. As for anyone else, I haven't found anything. I'm so late to the podcast thing, I don't even know how to find anything good.. Everything I've found on Amazon besides Ballen content is AI from Reddit. Kinda irritating because that's one reason I wanted to listen to podcasts is to get away from all the AI and reddit content.
If anyone picked the perfect tune for disturbing or dark scary videos on the Internet , this one will always get me & make look behind my back when its three in the morning & im watching it alone in the dark!!!!! Im glad hes the only UA-camr that used this soundtrack ❤
