A consolation cup is different from a losers cup. The Walker Cup and Ben Francis Cup are consolation cups for the teams that didn't make it to the semi-finals (I believe). Still prestigious schoolboy cups. Congrats to Mona and STETHS.

You fail to account for the fact that they were playing two leagues simultaneously. Players who played JPL had to be rested, so the team wasn't playing at full strength in either competition.
