Do what I’ve done & take out a £4.99 membership for 1 month & cancel before the renewal date - I promise you it’s the best £4.99 you’ll ever spend as I absolutely wholeheartedly agree with Nadia & Mark it’s truly a magnificent watch 👍🤗
I’ve been such a huge fan of these books for years and I was so excited for this series and it didn’t disappoint. I cannot wait for season 2! And Riders WAS made into a tv movie in 1993. I wasn’t sure about Alex Hassell at first as Rupert has always been described as blonde and I just never pictured him looking like Alex at all. But by the end of the first episode I got over it and thought he was brilliant. And Danny Dyer was fantastic as Freddie Jones.
I loved it! I have a nearly 7 month old so I needed something to watch when nap trapped etc and watched it (with my AirPods in ) in pretty much one day 😂
Hi Mark, in answer to your question Cameron Cook was White in the book, Nafessa played her brilliantly, with the same anger and determination as the book character. She plays the American ‘fish out of water’ character eloquently.
Great review. I really enjoyed being able to watch something fun which developed each episode to suck you in with a great script and fab acting. And not a mobile phone in sight
Hi guys I was wondering if someone can help me , I wanna read the book rivals but I want to know if the relationship between tiggie and Rupert gone have love story ??? Or it. The riders book that has the continuation of the tv show
Completely agree with all your points. Was a fantastic series with each character superbly cast and written. And Mark I agree with your point about how this shows the world of TV brilliantly, I usually don’t like series that fictionalise the television industry.
Just finished it, and loved it. I did cringe in the first 2 episodes because it felt hard to stare the 80s straight in the face 😳😅. But i was hooked quite quickly. Really hope S2 will be as good, with same producers/writers & actors.
Tried to give this a good go…but we just couldn’t get past episode 2! Felt like amdram 😂.. acting was weak & those accents?! The premise felt fun in places but felt it lacked anything remotely interesting… the dialogue was supposed to be funny? Not so sure … x
Yes Nadia felt the same about Rupert couldn’t stand him to begin with and loved him by the last few eps, same with Tennant loved him then hated him
😂😂
I agree with EVERYTHING you said. The only disappointment, for me, is that not everyone will have access to it. That’s such a massive shame
agree - but the BBC is now no longer capable of making this sort of stuff xx
@@sawalhaadderleysDamn straight. They’d take up half of the airtime with the ‘warnings’ 😂

I’ve loved “Rivals” so easy to watch and I even had a crush on Rupert by the end 😂
It was a bloody good romp. Just like her books. Great casting
I just finished watching Rivals I can’t wait for the build up of series 2 next year.

Agree because Rupert Campbell Black was described as a Blond Bombshell, so it was jarring to see Alex. But he won me over
Absolutely loved this show!!! ❤❤❤
I loved loved this show. Agree all the actors were fantastic in the show. I hope there is another series. Omg Poldark ❤

Also! Victoria Smurfit is amazing! She played cruella in ONCE and she was amazing then too!
I saw Dee Koppang O’Leary was a director on some of the episodes, they got quite excited about it on This Morning probably why it was so female strong
Hi I haven’t watch this yet loved your review Rider was made years ago

"Starts with buttocks pumping" 😂 and continues with pumping in almost every scene. Stopped watching at Ep 3, sorry not for me at all.
