I have one of these and have spent the night in snow and rain with it. I don't like the Velcro on the front, I wish the zipper continued all the way around . The Velcro catches on wool and is hard to close when the canvas is covered in ice. Not being able to close the screened area is also kind of problem, especially when it's windy and below freezing, it can make for a cold night. The craftsmanship and quality of materials is excellent, but the design needs some improvements. I spent the night in it last night, at 4000 ft. with 25 mph winds and heavy snow.
I have one of these, this is not something lightweight that you can easily hike into the mountains with, heavy but very well made, although a couple of things to make it better, the zip is plastic this would be much better with a chunky metal zip which won't be damaged long term by grit and dirt and also another metal pole which could be slotted around the feet to keep the bag off the legs!!
Is there another flap at the head end for when the weather is really wet ? Also... how would this compare for water resistance with a MSS Bivi ? Thanks
Mine arrived today, super fast delivery and it's amazing quality. Can't wait to have my first night in it.

You asked, we listened. The new version is fully zipped round the head end, no velcro.
