Another amazing video as always. Would love to see you do the following songs, Black, Watch The World Burn, Built to Fall, Caustic are the ties that bind from Trivium and satellite and Prayer of the Refugee by Rise Against. Keep up the great work.
I also forgot to say in the original comment (the other account is mine in case anybody was wondering?), I would also love to see you cover Incineration (The Broken World) because of it's bass solo.
I used and edited Paul's original isolated bass track for this video. So while I transcribed it and played it in the video, you're not hearing my audio
Hey Leo, quick question, you've helped me a lot through my bass learning journey for the past 9 months or so already and now that I'm about to release my own serious cover of a song, I wonder, what software do you use to split the tracks of the songs you cover, or how do you get your bass in it without the song's bass interfering with your recorded audio, any specific software to try to assemble audio reccomended for a fundless newbie? I'm asking for a lot I know, still, thanks for your hard work man!
Thank you! I only use an EQ to get rid of the lower frequencies so that my bass can be heard better. This is a big low cut below 160hz. The only problem is that this also removes the kick drum and the toms so that is the one downside to using an EQ for covers. It still works well imo
Nice tab, 3 questions my man -how do you bet that awesome tone -what kind of string are you using on your warwick? I find it hard to find a low B that fits -how do you tremolo pick that cleanly? Really impressive stuff
Thanks! -So this cover was actually an experiment since I used the official isolated bass track by Paul and transformed it with a Darkglass Ultra plug-in which was a lot of fun to do. So most of the tone comes from his bass, and the distorted stuff is all Darkglass. -I use Dunlop Super Bright NW Medium 45-125 strings for most of my covers. -Although I didn't record this, I could do it too. It's all about practicing consistency at a much lower speed, and then working your way up to the original speed. After 8 years of playing bass, this shouldn't be overly difficult anymore. The only hard part is knowing which way to pick first so that you don't end up upstroking a fast part on another string. Usually when you start a tremolo part with an upstroke, it's slightly harder to keep track of the riff
You're not hearing my bass. I used the original bass track and made a custom for it as an experiment. I did make the transcription and I can play it of course.
That riff on the second verse was always my favorite part to play 😅
That was badass Leo!
Thank you!
Yay Slipknot!!!! To me Paul Gray's basslines are the perfect mix of simplicity and cool and interesting arranging
I can't say they're that simple though. I'd say this was quite a tough one!
Wow, there's so much going on in this song! Good job!
Yup.. Thank you very much!
thats was awesome dude, would love to see more Slipknot on youre channel
Thank you! I'd love that too..
@@LeoBassCovers2also never knew this bass line was much more complicated than i thought. Always thought paul played power chords in the beginning
Honestly, me neither. How on earth did he play this live..
You play so excellent thanks
Releasing a cover the night Fener wins. Nice one my brother😉
That goal by Amrabat though... woahhhhh
@@LeoBassCovers2 I know right, bro sent a rocket at the goalie.
Warwick basses are so cool
Really sucks that you can't hear much of this on the album because man
That chorus is fucking sick it looks so fun to play
Agreed.. And the chorus really is so much fun to play!

Wait how is this not a cover

You can use audio splitters online, they usually do a decent job at it
@AlexRVX8 any examples?

Was wondering if you could do "like a sunken ship" by leprous?
think you could do 8 gates of pleasure by night verses?

Is it safe to tune a standard tuning 5 string up to drop B?
Nope. Gotta have it set up and adjust a bunch of things for such a tuning
Yo dude can you do some static-x.
I wish thinking about covering Push It, and my favorite The Only :)
what do you mean it’s technically not a cover
