I'd like to just commend you on concealing your filter nicely. So many DIY filters people have them sitting right next to their pond. Sure they work great but they're ugly to look at. Well done.
Hi Gareth Thanks for the quick reply! I have four 20 Gallon tanks, first tank is a settling tank as i was unable to install a vortex. The next two tanks will be K1 and the last tank will mostly be Alfagrog & Japmat. The oxygen in your tanks is perfect, just what bacteria needs :) Thanks again!
subscribed. nice filter. i have a 1000 gallon pond on my channel. I need to build a custom pond filter like yours soon. I dont like cleaning my oase 500o everyweek
@plodplayer I went to the original maker of the filter box, which I bought back in 1996, called CD Aquatics in the Midlands. They dont make filter boxes any more but he had a few bits left which I bought off him. Not sure if he has any left now though.
@poisonXvenom This is a conversion of an old 3 bay filter. The far left bay still has brushes in, the middle bay now has static K1 with the air feed for cleaning, and the far right bay now has a moving bed of K1. Hope that helps. No this is not an ERIC filter, its a bit like a Nexus filter..
hi Gareth do you still visit this site? if so can you explain how you constructed the air rings in your filter boxes, i constructed as you have in the photos and I have a 240 LTR per minuet pump only a few bubbles around the t piece came out. what's going wrong please
Hi I bought this pump and am having trouble with it. On te box it said you can hook it up to a 110v so I bought the international plug and put it on the 110 and it does nothing at all pump turns on but has very very little air at Alll. Do.u have urs hooked up to a 220 and do u think I'm not getting enough power?
I know this is an old video, but K1 is only useful in the fluidized/moving bed filtration chamber. The static chamber would be better filled with pumice or ceramic based media, which has much more surface area.
Let's get it out there. I'm so very jealous of my neighbor at the moment. He's actually been alone always and forever. Then again he's mind-fucked a swimwear model to tell him she has fallen deeply in love with him in less than a thirty day period. Just how is that thinkable? He smiled and told me he tried the Cupid Love System (Google it!) I wish someone amazing told me they loved me... I cannot remember ever seeing him so cheerful. Kind of makes me feel bad.
You are completely in love with how you can turn the air on and off on both sides.
Great looking setup though.

Hi , I can not remember the exact figures, but I measured the volume of the bay in ltrs then fill exactly half with K1. Hope that helps.
Wish I could get my K1 to sink and tumble. It’s been 3 weeks in a canister shark 800 filter
It is an impossibility to fluidize k-1 in a canister @@mentalistsa

I'm a just a hobbyist...but I don't know what I am looking at...a description of what is going would be extremely helpful...
@lespauldfx Hi I used a Hailea ACO 9720 30L/m Pump as it was cheap. But it works fine. Hope this helps.
I know this is an old video, but K1 is only useful in the fluidized/moving bed filtration chamber. The static chamber would be better filled with pumice or ceramic based media, which has much more surface area.
