While I do understand that it's their job, I can't imagine defending humans like these and blaming the victims!!
Blaming the victims is NOT part of their job, that's only their choice. They're POS.
Lying should NOT part of their job as well. Wtf.
There are people defending lawyers like this, they always pop up in the comment sections of these videos. To them I say, f*ck you.
thats not their job. theyre just incompetent pigs
@@Romy---exactly!
A lawyer/attorney will try to win their case at all cost. But a *GOOD* one will lose for the sake of the truth.
How can the "defense" knowingly come up with such bs?! Everyone should have a fair trial, but that crosses the line.
These people don't care.
it doesn't. distasteful. but that is the job. to ZEALOUSLY defend their client. in EVERY case, the state has infinitely more power money, and corruption at their disposal. yes, criminals should be punished. given the resources of the state, PROVING a crime is a minimal bar.
This is exactly why Casey Anthony is a free woman. It's disgusting and terrifying.
Agree 100%. The defense prosecutor's job is to make sure the defendant gets a fair trial but they do not have to make up lies to defend.
@@just-be-nicethere's no such thing as a "defense prosecutor" lol. That's a public defender or criminal defense attorney
Her co-worker though, what a trooper! Immediately jumping to action to help in whatever way was necessary(as in what’ll save her coworker and her daughters lives) even at the risk to herself. For all she knew it could’ve been a false story and she could’ve gotten charged with aiding in a bank robbery, but the fact that she did not care to think of that possibility, incredible.
Except for the part that they did call the cops when they weren't supposed to. It worked out though. 😊
Right? If a coworker said their kid was in trouble and even proved they had explosives on them I would be like
"What do you need? I will do it" as long as it wasnt hurting someone else to any significant degree
Not only that, but she had no idea that the explosives weren't real. For all she knew, as unlikely as it was, they could have gone off at any moment, killing them both.
Loretta! What a trooper is right. Still in touch w her and just have so much gratitude for her.

15:29: "My strategy was to beat the hell out of them victim"
This makes me so pissed, Those three were at the very least mentally tortured, likely traumaized by these evil people and they are still being a victim to the legal system.
Damn straight. I can't believe that snake can live with himself, saying that bullsh*t.
Well, it sure backfired. It probably just made the jury mad. Most juries arent stupid. Any attorney that chooses victim blaming is taking a big gamble. To me, it means the defense is desperate and knows they have no chance because GUILTY!
It's even more crazy that the woman who was involved in the crime and admitted to it just walked Scott free... After the torture the lady and her child went through during the crime and in court, she then has to have the thought in the back of her mind that the one that got off might have some sort of vengeance in mind for her plan getting foiled..
Wah wah wah baby ass
That statement made my stomach drop. It is so FUCKING horrible how some lawyers treat HONEST, RELIABLE, TRAUMATIZED victims in such a manner. Dude should be barred that is just unacceptable. What the fuck.
How? How was the woman not held accountable? (Not the mother, the woman who stayed in the car 🤦🏻♀️) I’ve heard numerous cases where a driver is charged with the same murder as the person who pulled the trigger! It makes no sense 😤 That must have been an absolutely terrifying experience

Duress and Cohesion. The woman could reasonably prove that the 3 men used force to coherice her into being an unwilling accompance, forcing her to commit the crime by threatening both her and her minor daughter. It’s also why a driver held at gunpoint to help bank robbers is not charged as being an accompance, while a driver that willingly helps is considered an accompance to the crime and is charged as such.

She either wasn’t charged properly or judge didn’t give correct instructions to jury or??? Idk another consideration is appearance and racism sexism. They threw the book at the men and the ones that look black and Hispanic but despite her last name she looks Caucasian.

@@celesterosales8976 your idea of racism or sexism is insane.
Yeah, there's just tons of pro-hispanic racism going on in courts, especially federal courts.
Plus sexism too.. not like there's a women's prison in Chula Vista or anything.
I agree that it was an egregious miscarriage of justice - but just because you want something to be true doesn't mean that it is.

This is so horrific and cruel, and at the same time so unusual. If this story were a movie people would think of it as unrealistic fiction... the fact that it happened to somebody in real life, it is scary to know people's twisted minds can create and execute these plots
They did make a movie based on this story. It was called "Held Hostage," and it was made for TV.
O
Also, why would they do it? Not a very good plan, right?
@@tiffanyclark-grove1989was a good plan if they had limited direct contact with the victims they wouldn't have been able to identify them. The idiot came to her bank and directly talked to her and apparently left a freaking business card.

Well, it makes since to have someone at the bank do it.. it "worked", they just happen to leave evidence of the business card behind.
If all had gone according to plan, Renee would have taken the fall.
Beacause if they had robbed it themselves the police would have been alerted immediately, whereas using her and telling her they would kill her daughter if she alerted the police so it made sense for them to use her to rob it as she was there security !

@@BriDia3 Wow, sounds like he is still trying to convince HIMSELF by the angry response...if he meant it he would not have been so defensive in his wording, IMHO.
People never, ever ignore your children when they tell you someone was watching them. Never! Or if they tell you someone makes them uncomfortable. Pay attention to what your children say to you. When you don't people get hurt, or killed, kidnaped, or raped. If you notice your child hiding from a "friend" or family member, there is a reason why. I hate to victim blame, but protect your children.
Had she called the police, they would have done nothing at that point. They would have said that there had been no crime committed yet for them to investigate, or to stick around for. Yes, we as parents need to start listening to our children more. But, in this instance, I do not believe it would have changed the outcome. She had no clue what was coming her way. How exactly do you prepare for something that you have no idea is even coming? Especially something as mind boggling as this..
@@bhumphries1360 Dude, she worked in the bank. She must have had a security training of some sort. Like never going to work on the same route etc. Pll like these must be extra careful by definition. Followed her 1 year and she didn`t notice (sic!)
The thing is... children have a WILD imagination. It is hard to find the line between not dismissing your childrens fear and suspicions and overreacting. If you treat every mention of your child not being comfortable as a possible threat, you might raise someone, who becomes paranoid later. So I don't blame people who don't get the line.
@@MACTEP_CHOBbut in some cases, it’s not possible to take a different route. Where I live, there is only one way to get to most places. The take a different route works in the city, but not in the country. And the video said she lived in a pretty isolated area.

So really the woman working with the 3 other men was truly the mastermind, as she ultimately got away with no sentence and still kept a lot of the money that was never retrieved. Yeah, it was an episode on An episode of I survived
This story sounds far fetched and was on the fence whether to watch it. Her being a bank manager explains alot so thanks, I'll watch.
It reminds me of that case where a guy was kidnapped, strapped with a bomb and told to rob the bank but was caught before he could get the money back. He then exploded infront of the cops they wouldn’t help detonate the bomb and civilians looking on. The kidnappers were never caught and the bomb was set to detonate regardless
Bakaflaka, if you’re referring to the collar bomb case, they had arrested three people who were involved in the incident. The whole kidnapper thing was faked, dunno if the collar bomb wearer deliberately faked it or was coerced to making the story up by the people involved.
Wow, so you’re saying that it is possible to get away with kidnap, threatening people’s lives, and robbery huh?? Ramiraz only spent 10 days in jail and walked away with $234,000. Wow.

They even accused her of being the ring leader.
So glad the truth does come to light.
Also another reason why you don’t underestimate what your child is telling you or not think what they’re saying is correct. We were on a hike one day, and some of us got split up when we were heading back. My mom was with my brother, 6yo at the time, and our youngest cousin, 7yo at the time. There was a point where they came up to an intersection and didn’t know which way was correct. The kids both said left was correct, and said it in a way that they knew it was, but my Mom insisted right was, and after a mile of walking, found out left was correct and right wasn’t. They were so happy when she admitted her mistake 😂
My daughter did the same for me when we were at a Thanksgiving day parade downtown. I couldn't find my car and my young daughter said this way. In my case, I listened, because I hadn't a clue, lol!! She was right.
This story is giving me chills at a hundred degrees

Until you need one right?
@@hazelhadley-britt6396 I till I need one right? Nah my sarcastic friend. We don't have lawyers in England. We have solicitors and district judges and solicitors. Of whom would dream of turning a victim into a villain. That dumb shit only happens in America. 😏
@@Spencerlayne whatever you call them in the UK, they are the same beast. In the UK they just more pc and fluffy.
I am also in the UK, yet I call myself an outsider looking in. You will have people accused of crimes (and non-crimes) based just on the word of someone and call it evidence. People are deemed guilty with no due process until trial. There are numbers of cases like that. Yet that would mean you need a lawyer / solicitor (whatever name you wish to give the beast). And it is not just the innocent that require legal representation. So do the guilty. We could go into the lack of sufficient sentencing for serious crimes, but that would be another subject.
So I will say again. Until you need one you will scoff and berate lawyers (or solicitors).
@@hazelhadley-britt6396 For sure everyone needs lawyers to make sure that their rights aren't violated, that due process is observed, and they are tried fairly. But it's not their job to LIE and make up stories to blame the victims when they know their clients are absolutely guilty. Not all laywers stoop that low, so we know that's definitely not a necessity to win a case.

Ridiculous how the woman who admitted that she was the one who thought of that plan didn't get any sentence.
The mastermind didn't get no time because she truly was a mastermind and flipped on her codefendants and ratted them all out giving up the whole operation and that my friends is why she didn't do any time, she already knew what to do if they got busted... make a plea for immunity and Testify against everyone involved...
