- Kara Frederick serves as the director of The Tech Policy Center at The Heritage Foundation focusing her research on “Big Tech” and emerging technology policy.

She previously served as a counterterrorism analyst at the Department of Defense and was a Senior Intelligence Analyst for a U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, deploying to Afghanistan three times in support of special operations forces. She also served as a briefer to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict and was a liaison to the National Security Agency.
Following her time at the Department of Defense, she helped create Facebook’s Global Security Counterterrorism Analysis Program and led the Facebook Headquarters’ Regional Intelligence Team.
Prior to joining Heritage, she was a fellow for the Technology & National Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), where she concentrated on high-tech illiberalism, data privacy, and digital surveillance.
Kara is a fellow with the National Security Institute at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School and spent two years as a lecturer at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs in Washington, D.C
She is a regular guest on Fox News and Fox Business and has also been published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, The Economist, Bloomberg, and others.

Great interview. What struck me was the self righteous hypocrisy from the person at facebook who wouldn't shake her hand because she came from the NSA. They hired her because of her expertise nad to do the same work, but yet held disdain for it at the same time.
Quite an incredible woman- super intelligent, astute, street smart, Three Letter Agency(s) employment, conservative, well spoken, beautiful....What shocked me? At 50:02 “I’m nine months pregnant”. And she’s not distracted by it in the least. Amazing.

If he cared about China's influence and power over us , why are we letting China own the green industry and selling to Europe our allies who are changing to green energy, EVs, solar panels and wind turbines? Letting big oil own our Congress men and women and dragging us down so they can make their profits is horrible. As the world demands new things we need to adapt to that to keep American
Industries the most wanted products in the world. Holding us back is a real danger. Big oil can look out for themselves and adapt and invest in new energy. Those of us who lost jobs because of companies going overseas had to adapt. Some of it was expensive taking out school loans when nearing retirement age. But we adapted. They have the profits now with all the oil they have been producing. The most in history these past few years.
I'm so upset with the Republican party and their antiquated views I am now a registered independent.
A lot of my fellow boomers are starting to see this as well. We have seen the results of the trickle down ideology for decades and see its failure.
I wish there was a new party to give both parties a run for their money.
When the Republicans voted against taking the dark money out of elections in the 117 Congress they are sticking us into another push me pull you situation. Kissing the oil companies a$$ is dragging us down to be a second best country.
So prices may go up as we bring companies back to our country for a while. But isn't the sacrifice worth it to strengthen our country?
So happy with the chips act. It's about time we invest in the United states. I'm making my pros and cons list and figuring out what is best for our country. Our children and grandchildren future. May peace be with you. God bless. Keeping our country in my prayers.
