    Whew
    Someone on my side!!!
    Now in my ninth decade with no dishwasher, no disposal no microwave no TV all these decades !.none!. and lots and lots of resistance from husbands with an ‘s’, children and grandchildren, friends, and neighbors, and lots of vinegar and baking soda… Now with enjoyment of the beloved washing machine and dryer and hot water and cold water and electricity, I really feel that you’re on my side. You’re helping.
    Thank you.

    I got to the point one day that I did not want to use all the cleaners anymore. I had trouble breathing when I used it. I got things cleared out of the house, I researched and found relatively local USA family owned sources. Also Stephen you are apart of our household. Thank you.

      All that's really needed for cleaning is: vinegar, sometimes baking soda & coconut oil.

    I recently began buying Truly Free in my journey of conscious capitalism (love having that name to go with this season!) BEST cleaning products I've ever used. I have already switched multiple people over to their products. The results of the dishwasher leaves me speechless everytime I run a load...actually makes me like doing dishes 😅 Now I'm in tears hearing how they are making an impact in the trafficking world and many other missions. Way to go, God bless you and continue to good fight!!

    I absolutely LOVE the Truly Free products! I have been using them for about 6 months and they are absolutely fantastic! Love the laundry soap and how clean everything feels and just started with the dishwashing soap. Even my husband noticed how sparkly clean the dishes are. Please try them you will be amazed at the difference! Thanks Carolyn for having Stephen on, I love his background.

I tried they the unscented and they sent it right out to me, no shipping charge and did not ask me to package up the scented to send back. That was very kind of them!

    As a teenager I was able to use commercial products. When I started serious cooking I decided not to use lotions on my skin because of knowing the effect of oil, lard, with heat does to raw meat. I use baking soda and vinegar

    • @eamonnholland5343
      @eamonnholland5343 3 місяці тому +1

      Soap scum is created by the soap reacting with the minerals in the water (more problematic in hard water). I've had problems with soap scum in my pipes ever since I started using actual soap (and not detergents), and did lots of research on the best ways to clean it out.
      Just as soap is made with lye (sodium hydroxide), you can also use lye to clean the soap scum (most pipe cleaners use a diluted form of sodium hydroxide). You should be able to find it at any hardware store in the cleaning aisle. Most directions say to run some water down the pipe, then sprinkle 1 tablespoon of lye (it comes in a powder form) down the drain, then run 1 more cup of hot water down the drain, and wait. Rinse the pipe with warm water afterward, and repeat as necessary to fully clean the pipe. It took me 4-5 times to fully clean my pipes of all the soap scum. It should be safe to use on all modern pipes.
      As for soap scum on the shower walls, you could use lye, diluted in water in a spray bottle, a good scrubber, and elbow grease. Other than that, you could limit soap scum buildup by adding softener to your home's water.

      @JanicePhillips 3 місяці тому +2

      I made liquid shampoo for awhile, but kept running out and it was an all day process to make liquid soaps at home. So...I looked up a shampoo bar recipe and found one my hair absolutely LOVES. No conditioner needed, either.
      It's from Bumblebee Apothecary, so you can look up her recipe. I scented mine with a bit of Sweet Orange and Lavender and used tallow I rendered myself. Of course, then you have to wait the 6 weeks for it to cure, but I make all our bar soaps myself, so I try to keep a schedule so we don't run out before the next batch is ready for use.

    • @eamonnholland5343
      @eamonnholland5343 3 місяці тому +2

      You don't really need to use a shampoo (it's a modern consumer gimmick). Natural bar soap works just fine for the whole body, including the hair. The key is to find one that you like, and works with your hair and natural oils. Avoid most soaps you'd find in the grocery store, as they contain all kinds of chemicals which will dry your skin and hair out too much.
      The soap I've found that I like is Honest Amish beard soap (they have lots of variants, but I just get the Original). It can be used on the whole body, 1 bar lasts 1-2 months, and costs about $8. I also use it for hand soap, and it's in my bug out bag, as it's really light, and you only need to add water.
      You could make your own soap if you want to. The recipes aren't complex. It's pretty much just lye (sodium hydroxide, which you can find in any hardware store), fats/oil, and essential oil (if you want it scented beyond the oils you use).
