Even as an Alstom Citadis fan the new Urbos 100s still look great.
Agreed
Do you know what happend to the airbos 2
yes. alstom citadis has only front door open left hand side only whereas the urbos has both sides. always found that peculiar. you would want both options obviously as a driver.
Congratulations Phil on a very helpful video and also for your well deserved invitation. Seasons Greetings.
They look nice . Thanks Phil
The inside almost looks like the L1’s
Great vid phill love the tram i drove past it yesterday
Make sure over that day, this tram should not crash!!
The light rail looks nice inside.
Nice invite. Looks like you were first passenger and the first driver.
great video phil all the best
Cheers mate :)
@@sydneytrainsvlogs your'e welcome
It's great parramatta has their own ones now.just like the ones in the CBD.& difference with these ones is that they have new white destos as you can see in the video.& that riding them in the future is going to be great.
Looks great, the length makes it cool, close to Newcastle light rail
The list of stops shows an interchange with Sydney Trains at Carlingford! I bet that won't be happening in 2024.
Interesting
Longer and longer - when does a tram become a train? At least they won't be patching two together, as in Sydney, I suppose. Great video, as usual.
Nice detailed look at these new trams. What got me is the longitudinal seating that is situated away from the windows and in line with the walkway between the 2x2 seating. How on earth are you meant to get through with people's legs in the way?
Nice video. Did they have anything to say about modifications to prevent the cracking associated with the L1 trams and other CAF Urbos trams elsewhere? I notice there are some sections such as at 05:23 where there are transverse seats on 1 side and only a single seat next to a box on the opposite site. These remind me of the single seat sections in the Melbourne D-class trams (Siemens Combino) that needed modification due to body cracking about 15 years ago, so wonder if there is a link.
The reason behind Sydney's L1 Urbos 3 suffering from crack issues is because of insufficient maintenance.
@@TheSearleFamily123 incorrect. The reason is because of the poor choice of bogies. The Urbos 3s do not use swivelling bogies, which places a large amount of stress on the tram bodies when they traverse the corners between the old freight line and Paddy's Markets, and Hay Street into the old tram loop.
Why doesn't NSW buy the Bombardier stock that is made locally in Dandenong, Vic?
Yep it is better than those foreign made junk
Hey, you cannot just assume this will happen. The reason behind Sydney's L1 Urbos 3 suffering from crack issues is because of insufficient maintenance.
When they say locally, they mean in NSW.
@@aguywhodreams unfortunately though, neither UGL Rail of Broadmeadow nor Downer Rail of Cardiff actually make trams or LRVs.
@@TheSearleFamily123 it wasn't poor maintenance. If you look, other systems around England and France had the same problems.
For your interest, this tram is now lurking in the back streets of penrith
i give the nickname junk i wonder if cracks where installed as standard. Great Video Phil
I agree

@@TheSearleFamily123 I will happily Amit I am I am work if they last 10 years with no issues
@@TheSearleFamily123 whatever it is. It is made overseas and it's an foreign made junk. They can last long as the Australia made rollingstock.
drivers cab is quite different to the l1 urbos. most noticeable no set of cameras either side just one in the middle. i doubt the right hand side is cameras, that is probably the internal cab system.
I wonder what the great river city light rail company is. It’s most probably owned by transdev
Is there already a maintenance facility / shed for this to be stored in ?
What line will this be on
How did you get inside the tram? Looking cool
It was an invite
So the light rail tracks and stations have been completed ?
Will these new trams be wireless?
i thought the urbos 100s were custom designed for newcastle
i wonder if these will crack or if they have been strengthened already

@@TheSearleFamily123 wrong
These are very impressive, inside, very roomy. I'm impressed that you got permission to walk around inside. Did you need security following you around for their satisfaction?
6:54 - carlingford change for trains? whoops. should be buses. hopefully this got fixed.
It's actually Rydalmere.
Technically, just going by the stop name.
Overall positive impressions for me, but why are the destos at the front and back so hard to read? the text is very thin, I think the citadis destos look much better.
possibly. but given this line unlike cbd which has 2 it is not very important.
@@Roadrunnerz45 well, that is true, at least until stage 2 is constructed (if it is ever constructed)
Looks nice but I'm still a bit annoyed they couldn't/didn't extend it to Epping station. Linking it with the Metro would've been great.
aren’t these the Spanish ones with design defective
Same company yes.
Slightly different model.
Hopefully they have resolved the issue
Cracks appearing in the frame in 3, 2, 1...

These 13 trams, numbered 2161-2173, will be a configuration of 3M3F1T (Bo′+Bo′+2′+Bo′) and feature six CAF 2-level IGBT-VVVF inverters (1C2M) with twelve 4-pole 3Ø 70kW induction motors from Traktionssysteme Austria (model no.: TMR 36-18-4).
What are the technical stuff with the Canberra urbos 3?
@@AdamsCarWashVids Same as above (this also applies to the L1 Urbos 3 [2112, 2114-2124] and those of the Newcastle LRT [2151-2156]), but numbered 001-012 and this time with only eight traction motors and four inverters as they are in 2M2F1T (Bo′+2′+Bo′) configuration.
what a waste of money when Parramatta is already a shit hole its already congested why not add more congestion by slow moving trams the government has lost the plot put trams where its actually needed where there is not much transport not in congested areas i am sure there are buses that can go along all these routes and of course they have a train station wtf more mess more confusion
Reading that gave me a stroke
