Good question? This is how viruses stay eradicated u keep u vaccines. Measles was almost eradicated but less people were being vaccinated because of vaccine exemptions and that lead too some outbreaks . So much for being eradicated
Because smallpox doesn't transmit by any other means but humans. And once you've eradicated it, vaccinations becomes pointless
@@NoName-hg6cc Yeah but the disease isn't really eradicated if they keep samples in labs. If it leaked...no one would be vaccinated against it. And monkey pox, cow pox, horse pox is transmissible to humans and can be fatal. The smallpox vaccine is still used to protect against monkey pox.

There’s been studies on corpses who died from smallpox from the mid 1800s in the tundra and none of them had viable infectious virus detected! But we still don’t know if that was an anomaly. It is still a real threat

@@_MikeyTwoCombs_ it's in liquid form. Someone asked on AZ how to use it and the seller said 5 drops in 1/2 a glass of water 3x per day. if you get a less potent tincture then I am assuming the drop count would go up. This was under 1000CH.

The problem is that Vaccinia, a live virus closely related to Smallpox, is used to vaccinate someone (it's the original vaccine that gave rise to the term itself). You are infecting people with a live virus that is capable of killing someone. ~0.0001% of people can have severe infections and disease from it. That is a small number, so there was never hesitation to give the vaccine while Smallpox still was a present threat.
So once Smallpox was defeated, the vaccine was not simply stopped because healthcare providers decided it wasn't necessary. It was stopped because 1 out of tens of thousands could die from the vaccine. So they decided that it was time to stop giving the vaccine out without an imminent threat from Smallpox. This was an easier decision to make given that Smallpox cannot infect any other organism on Earth. So once it was eradicated from humans, it was gone for good from natural reservoirs of infection. So there wasn't going to be a random and natural re-emergence like there can be with Ebola viruses.
We may need to start vaccinating the public for it again. The military never stopped getting the Smallpox vaccine. But that's a much more difficult decision to make than you might think.

But i do get to decrease the infection rate you have to recreate the virus rather then transporting it to a lab. I stand by your point. I'm just scared of people trying to make more deadly and potent virusses and releasing them into the wild. I think that if you want to release a virus into the wild thorough testing needs to be done to stop something bad from happening that could destroy ecosystems and such.

Small pox was eradicated through vaccination. If caught in time and isolated it can be prevented.
The problem is how fast it could spread. Considering people refuse to believe the covid vaccine works and more and more people are becoming anti vax. Imagine a unvaccinated person gets smallpox, deadly.
